I'm in the process of moving so I'm currently a bit CrAzY at the second. Hopefully, I'll be back to normal reply schedule soon (after the move and the insanity of getting basic unpacking done)

Well - add all that stuff and you take away the element of surprise. In that case it might be better just to have this

True. Very true. But that's what siblings are for.

Ahh but that would be more expensive to get it here. I was thinking a lot of North/Midwest states that flood can send their water toward the southwest region. :)

Really? Where???? Where did that post come from?
Thank you. I don't need it personally but I can sell it to you for a couple hundred.
Though if can add little swords in the legs that will give you an even better weapon. Mwuuahahaaa! Someone wants to rob you? Bye bye robber. :D

Me? I'm nice all the time.
Though... ask a few of my siblings and you might get another answer.... :D

:( Floods are not good. Someone needs to set it up where the flooding areas send the extra water to the dry areas. That way the states in the southwest can have extra water to aid in the droughts.

The guards escorted the Doctor and Van Statten up several levels. Though they were right there making sure he went along, the guards let the Doctor walk on his own. "You need to destroy it." The Doctor informed the stubborn man. "It's pure evil with the intent to kill everyone who is not a Dalek."

"Dalek. That's an interesting name. I'm assuming that the metal casing is not part of the creature." Van Statten replied either not hearing the Doctor's suggestion or not caring.

The Doctor sighed. "Yes. It is an armor. It holds a mutation. A creature genetically engineered to have no emotion except for hate. It will not think twice killing." He stated as they approached a room. "You must destroy it."

Van Statten smiled, a bit condescendingly. "And destroy the last one of its race?" He inquired. "You did say it was the last?"

The Doctor nodded. "Must have somehow escaped the Time War." He said shaking his head. "Falling through time. I'm surprised it's not mad."

"They did say when it hit earth, it burnt in it's crater screaming for days before finally being collected and brought her." The professionally dressed woman next to Van Statten stated. The Doctor looked her way and then nodded. That would make sense.

"War?" Van Statten inquired. "Is this the same one you were speaking about earlier?" He asked.

The Doctor nodded as he paced in the hallway. "The Time War. The final battle between the Daleks and my people." He couldn't stand it. That Dalek still being alive. Just one Dalek and the destruction and horrors of the time war could all be restarted. All his people, everything he sacrificed would be in vain. "You must destroy it." He said turning to Van Statten.

The man nodded toward the guards who grabbed the Doctor. "What I'm more interested in is the fact that the Dalek is not the only one that is a survivor of it's people." He nodded toward the Time Lord. "Appearing you are as well. Let's see what makes you tick." He said nodding toward the room. Turning on the laser scanner, he smiled as the Doctor screamed in pain. "Two hearts! Binary vascular system. Oh, I am so going to patent this." He said, the scan completing.

The Doctor looked at him and shook his head. "That's what you are. A scavenger." He shook his head. "Scrounging everything and undoubtedly keeping it for yourself."

"Of course." Van Statten exclaimed. However, before he could continue another guard entered.

"The creature, it's escaping." He declared nervously. Van Statten turned to deal with him as Jen entered.

The Doctor looked over at Jen. Though he didn't know exactly what she did he had a feeling. The Dalek in the vault had been dying. Not enough power to do anything. If it was escaping and Jen was feeling guilty, then undoubtedly she touched it. "That's alright." He told her. The fault lay in Van Statten. He should have listened. "Let me go. You need to destroy this creature."

"The creature is locked in with a billion number combination lock." Van Statton replied a bit arrogantly, though there was just a tad of fear in them.

"A Dalek is a genius. It will crack that code in five seconds." The Doctor snapped his finger.

"He's right." The aid said looking at her screen. The Dalek escaped."

Van Statton looked from one person to the next. Then he nodded. "Alright. Release him." He looked at the Doctor. "What do we do?"

"Seal off the lower deck." The Doctor said shrugging the guards off as soon as he was free. Heading out the door he put his shirt and jacket back on. "Arm everyone. Maybe, just maybe you'll survive." He shook his head at their stupidity. But then again, what could he expect? Of course they wouldn't know what a Dalek is. But they should have listened to him. He looked at Jen. "You should go to the TARDIS, it will be safer." When she protested he frowned. "Jen, these aren't just any alien enemy. These are Daleks. There is no greater enemy in all of creation." He sighed. "Just stay close." He said dashing up the stairs. "Where can we seal off the lower decks?" He inquired.

"Level 35." Van Statton replied following them, his face pale. He looked at his aid. "Make sure they don't harm it. I want it captured alive."

Summer watched as the Doctor informed everyone that he died of natural causes. She frowned and looked down at the man. She was no Doctor but that didn’t look right. For a second she feared the alien from Mars had found its way here. The man had died of drowning yet no water was around. As she followed the Doctor, he turned to her and informed her it was witchcraft. Now a bit more confused she followed the Doctor back to the inn. Patiently, Summer waited for the Doctor to procure a room. As he was finishing they ran into Shakespeare again. Pasting on a smile, Summer listened to the two converse before echoing goodnight. Thankfully, the man had other things to worry about now that his play was back on schedule.

Entering the bedroom, Summer looked around. It was rather plain but that was alright. She listened as the Doctor explained the sleeping arrangements. Though it might be a bit awkward sharing the bed, she wasn’t sure she could just let the Doctor sleep on the floor. She watched him walk toward the window and talk about Shakespeare.
“He is an interesting follow.” She agreed. “Not what I was expecting.” She glanced down thoughtfully. Looking back up at the Doctor, her face displayed concern. “You said witchcraft, Doctor.” She said. “But it isn’t, is it. It’s the creatures from Mars. They’re here as well.” As much as she would like to forget about Mars and how the Doctor almost went mad there, she had to know.

When he declared it wasn’t that, she cocked her head. “So not Mars.” She frowned. “I guess there really is black magic and witchcraft.” She said not surprised. She was travelling through time and space seeing so many things that would blow the normal human’s mind. She glanced sharply at him when he said it wasn’t real. “But you said…” Now she was really confused. “I’m sorry, I guess I’m not getting it.”

Listening to the Doctor go off, switching back and forth from talking to her to muttering to himself. But she was used to that. She listened to him talk as she contained a yawn. It wasn't that he was boring, it was just that she was tired. Thankfully, the Doctor suggested that they turn in. In addition, she was glad that the clothes she wore would be fine sleeping in for a night. Otherwise she would have figured out what they were going to do. As it was, it was going to be a bit awkward sharing the bed. Assuming of course he slept at all.

~~~
A scream echoed through the night waking Summer up with a start. Sitting up she saw that the Doctor was already heading out the door. Jumping up, she ran after him wiping the sleep from her eyes. Entering Shakespeare room they found a servant on the floor and the playwright, himself trying to shake the stupor of sleep from his eyes.
“What happened?” Summer asked the Doctor as he examined the girl. It was a bit suspicious that there were two unexplained deaths. The first was the official censor vowing that Shakespeare’s play would not go through and the other was a servant girl in Shakespeare’s room. Though it was very suspicious she wondered if he had anything to do with it. He didn’t seem stupid enough to have it tied back to him. But then again, maybe he didn’t think they would suspect. But how? It didn’t make sense. Something out the window caught her eye and she went over.
A witch, a genuine witch was flying off on a broomstick. No. It couldn’t be. Rubbing her eyes she looked again. Though almost out of sight she saw the woman circle once before disappearing. “There was a witch.” She said shaking her head. “Flying on a broom.”
Shakespeare lamented about the poor servant not understanding how she could have died of freight.
“The thing is, you’ve written about witches.” Summer said earning a frown from the playwright.
“I have?” He inquired.
Summer blanched as the Doctor informed her that he hadn’t yet. Great. Next keep her mouth shut. She looked at the Doctor. “But I saw a witch. The man died outside due to drowning though there was no water. She,” Summer nodded toward the poor servant. “Died of fright.” Though she wasn’t as smart as other people she wasn’t stupid. There was a connection and somehow it was tied to Shakespeare. She didn’t know how. “It has to be connected.”
It really was difficult to remain calm as Miranda gave a bow. Not only was there so many people but the fact that the Doctor had just told her that people died in the play didn't help. Regrettably, she wasn't able to ask to many questions as they all had been forced to go out and bow. Keeping the confusion off her face though she gave a bow and then followed the others back. "What do you mean?" She whispered, placing a hand on the Doctor's arm. "What do you mean people die in the play for real?" It really didn't make a lot of sense to her. However, once again before the Doctor could reply she was informed that she needed to be on stage. "Doctor?" She said hesitating.
One of the director's aids stepped between them. "Go. They need you on now." He ordered firmly, no room for argument.
Realizing she would just have to catch him between scenes, Miranda held up her hands. "I'm going." She said before the man resorted to firmer methods. She turned and headed on stage. It wasn't actually that hard. Whatever they had stung her with had not only given her the script but they also tied in a bit with her body language, making the the ability to act become non-existent. But to Miranda, it was actually a bit unnerving how much control whatever they injected her with had on her body. Though she was in the character's role acting, it was if she was watching someone else control her. She wondered if saying something off script could happen, giving her somewhat control over her actions. However, when she thought of changing a word or sentence, the correct one still came out. It was as if someone else was controlling her mind. It wasn't so much that she couldn't it was just that even if she tried, the words and actions required for the play overrode all else.
For the next several scenes she wasn't able to be off stage with the Doctor. Either one or both were on stage. It didn't help that the Doctor was a main character. She wondered how he was performing under the injection. From what she saw, he quoted the lines perfectly, even performing actions that was required for that scene. She wondered if that was because it was controlling him or because he wanted them to think that. He did look human so they might have assumed he was human not taking into consideration how well it would work on an alien physiology. Not that she watched him much. While she was offstage she tried to get some information from the other cast members. It was difficult but she was able to piece together a bit when Act I ended giving both her and the Doctor a respite where they could talk.
"Nobody had a choice to be here." She hissed disgusted after pulling the Doctor into a corner. "Though they weren't real chatty it turns out each one was picked in a lottery forcing them to attend. Those who survive get about ten thousand credits while those who 'win' have their families provided for over the ten years." She glanced at the other cast members who seemed resigned to their fate. “This is wrong. The things they inject us with seem to take over, they are forced to be here and from what I gathered and what you said, some people won’t even survive.” The anger at the injustice of it all was evident in her tone and expression. “This is wrong. How did we get this far where things like this are even legal? Has human life gotten so cheap that it is alright to murder everyone?”
The Director called out that Act II was about to begin, interrupting her tirade. “I’m not sure I like this future.” She declared. If this was the best age of entertainment then there needed to be a careful evaluation of what that word meant. Sighing, she ran her hand through her hair. “Not that it’s your fault.” She stated apologetically realizing that she was taking her anger at injustice of this out on him. “I’m sorry. I just…” She frowned unsure what they could do. If it was legal could they even stop it? Or would they get arrested for disrupting a perfectly “normal” thing.
“Players on stage.” The Director ordered. Thankfully, neither the Doctor or her started the second Act.
She looked at him unsure what to do. Here she was, far away from the rules and culture of her society. What was acceptable and unacceptable in her time had changed over the years. She hoped the Doctor knew what to do because she felt at a loss. And it was something she did not like. “What do we do?” She asked. “Doctor?” He was the time traveler. He was the one who knew what could be done without ruining the time stream. He would know what to do. Or so she hoped.
He smiled sadly. Though the ice governess was taken care of he still had a few minor things to clear up with Dr. Simeon and the living snow. Instead of answering, he just smiled. When she asked if everyone thought she was going to die, he didn't even bother to look at the others. "I think you are going to live." He stated instead, his eyes staying locked onto hers. Sure it looked hopeless, but he had faced hopeless before. "If I save the world will you go away with me?" He asked placing a key into the palm of her hand. It looked like any ordinary key but it wasn't. Most of the time he waited for awhile before giving a new companion the key to the TARDIS but not her, not Clara. There was something about her that made him hope again. In her way she was unique and different then the rest of his companions. But that was good. Each companion had their own traits and that was what made them special. Giving her this key not only showed that he was willing to move on but it was a sign of how much she already meant to him. When she accepted the key and told him to go save the world, he smiled and straightened his bow tie.
"Just you wait, Clara. I'll be back in a jiffy and I will show you the universe." Turning he grabbed the lunch pail and headed toward the TARDIS. "See that she stays alive." He ordered Strax.
The Sontaran sighed. "I'll do my best sir." He declared.
Going over toward the door he opened and glared at Simion. Holding up the lunch box he spoke. “Remains of the ice governess.” He declared. “Your office, ten minutes.” Shutting the door he didn’t leave time for the man to argue. Nodding for Vastra to join him the two disappeared into the TARDIS and quickly left.
"Don't worry." The potato-headed alien said going over to Clara. "He'll save the world. You should have seen him in the olden days. He was a great warrior. Would have made a fine Sontaran!" He declared.
The snowmen outside the window remained while the Dr. Simion quickly left in a carriage. It was a slow anguish wait. Stepping toward the window Captain Latimer looked out at the snowmen. His two frightened children huddled in the corner terrified and worried. Their governance, no more than that, their friend, was dying. When Clara spoke he almost missed what she said. Looking over at his children, he looked back at Clara. “It isn’t really my area.” He told her. When she told him it was now, he nodded.
Straightening a bit stiffly he went over to his children. Though a bit awkward at first he soon held both of them, comforting them.
A bit more time went by as Strax watched the vital signs slowly lowering. “No! You must fight!” He ordered. “Hang in there boy!” He always did get the genders confused.
As rain fell outside the TARDIS once again appeared. Dashing out, the Doctor headed over to Clara. “We did it, Clara.” He told her. “You and me. We saved the world.” His smile was sad.
“She doesn’t have long.” Strax informed him.
Not accepting that, the Doctor looked at Clara. “You got to hold on.” He ordered. “Just hold on a bit longer.” Gently picking her up he turned to walk past Strax.
“Where are you going?” Vastra inquired concerned. She put her hand on his arm. “She won’t last much longer. There’s nothing you can do.” She whispered aware of the children.
“Like heck she will.” The Doctor shot back. Heading into the TARDIS he gently set her down and set a new destination. “Just hold on Clara.” He said as her eyes started to close. “Hold on.”
Trex nodded his thanks and accepted the meat. Grateful that once again they had been provided for he started to eat. "No let's eat them raw." He informed Zelia after swallowing his first bite. Some vegetables tasted better raw then cooked. Besides, he was hungry. He didn't know if he wanted to wait for them to cook before digging in. "So they're playing a game." He stated after finishing another bite. Though instinct said to scarf the food down, common sense kept him eating at a slow pace. Didn't want to get an upset stomach. "That's interesting. If you don't recognize it, I doubt it belongs to Flynn." He shrugged. Though there was nothing wrong with Skye having a game it just seemed odd. But it was nice to see she seemed comfortable enough to bring out a game, especially as it probably had some significance to her if she kept it all this time.
His dinner now complete, he glanced toward the fire where Skye's and Flynn's food stood waiting. If they took to long, the food was going to be overcooked. He wondered if he should go take it to them. It would be interesting to see what the game was. But then again, it was just Zelia and him. That didn't happen to often. Sure they rode together most of the day but that was with him having to focus on the road and both having to keep a sharp lookout for bandits. He leaned back letting his food digest. "So, with the few hours before dark I was thinking of doing a bit of training." He informed Zelia. They used to spare together but not often. Before Flynn joined they practiced a lot together but after he joined three way sparing had been a bit difficult and their abilities increased. Though they still occasionally spared it wasn't that often. Of course, he was also content to just sit here for now. It wasn't always wise training right after a meal. "Have any plans?" He inquired curious.
~~~
Skye smiled slightly and nodded as Flynn set his piece down. That was a good move. He was improving. A natural learner, he might become a Pai Sho master far quicker then she did. Well... maybe. Frowning she stared at the board while rotating the game piece over the back of her hand, moving it back and forth using her fingers. She had to think about Flynn's question. Eldar had always used to joke that she was born playing and some of her earliest fond memories revolved around the game pieces. And with the harshness of Caelum and bad memories from recent events, it was hard to remember the few good times she had. Making her move she glanced at him. "I don't remember when I started." She confessed. "I believe I actually started learning the rules by time I was five. Though I might have picked up some of them earlier." She shrugged. "Eldar used to tease that I could play from birth." She glanced toward the board a distant expression on her face. Oh Eldar...He had been so patient with them. Settling any internal fighting, telling them that they had to stick together and rely on each other to survive. He looked out for them the best he could. His death had probably been hard. Maybe even harder for her then the others.

"Here. It was decided that you should have them." The dark haired boy held the bag containing all the tiles out to her. "You loved them the most. He would have wanted you to have them.. Turning another piece over in her hand, Skye studied it. Ryzo had been right. None of the others were as into the game as she. Though they all played, except for Tye, she was the one who seemed to enjoy the game most. She wondered sometimes if Ryzo and Diego played so much because she bothered them so much. Zen didn't. He didn't mind sitting and playing game after game with her, his usual silence adding a sense of calm. Biting her lip, Skye pushed the thoughts aside. Forcing a smile so so Flynn didn't see the pain she turned her attention back to the game. If he did it right, he would have the game in three moves, assuming she didn't try anything to block it. Knowing she wouldn't, she played elsewhere and looked up at Flynn. "Your move." She stated quietly.
That's not bad. I just turned 24 recently as well. So when you claim you are old you are insulting me. Though I can sell you a walker if you really think you need one.

Good Genkai. Calm down. Retract claws. Don't take it out on me. Especially as I am such a nice person.

Completely understand. The smell of rain is awesome and we can always use the moisture. As long as it doesn't cause flash floods or destroy the agriculture community's crops
"Cheating?" Trex shook his head. "I didn't cheat. All animals were open." He declared. "It's not my fault you were a bit slow." Sadly for him, she took that moment to call out the eagle. Drat. He needed to start paying attention. Keeping a sharp lookout he shook his head. "One to one." He replied. "The horses do count. "Robin." He said nodding toward the small bird the flew across the road. "Two-one." He chuckled at her desire to make a wager. "Aren't you broke enough as it is?" He inquired insinuating that he was going to win. Though in reality Zelia did a better job at this game then he did. Not only did he have to keep an eye on the road but she just had a better job at spotting the animals. Why would he agree to a wager when she would only clean him out. "I think we should just stick to it being a fun game." He declared.

Time flies when one was having fun. Though he tried hard, Zelia got a strong lead and no matter what he did, he couldn't catch up. When he almost ran the wagon off the road for the third time because he was sidetracked he shook his head. "Alright, alright. You win this time." He conceded. Glancing at the sky, he was surprised to see that they had missed lunch and that it was almost evening. As if suddenly making up for lost time his stomach growled reminding him that they hadn't eaten since breakfast. "We should eat." He informed Zelia. "It's been a long day and I'm sure everyone is starving." Using the reins, he nudged the horses into a small clearing on the side of the road. "We should be good here." He stated. He looked at the sky. Though they had a few hours of daylight left it was a good time to stop. They could eat, turn in early and get a good start. Besides, he wanted to practice a bit of his magic. The past few days had been exceedingly busy and he hadn't had that much chance to do so. He was going to get rusty if he didn't take care. Every day he missed practice meant so much longer before obtaining S-class and that was unacceptable. A few days was understandable but not to many and not often.

"I'll take care of the horses if you want to get the others and set up camp." He stated jumping down and heading over toward the horses. With years of experience he removed all the tackle and rubbed the horses down. For some it might be a tedious job, but for him it brought back pleasant memories from his childhood. By time he was finished Zelia had set up a campfire and had hers and his stuff piled nearby. Tying the horses to the tree, he walked over to Zelia. After they ate he would create a wooden pen to keep the horses in for awhile. It gave them room to maneuver as well as gave him a bit of practice. Come morning, he would remove it so it wouldn't bother anyone else."Where's Skye and Flynn?" He asked heading over to where she sat pulling out supplies. He raised his eyebrows a bit surprised when she stated they were in the middle of a game and would come out 'shortly'. "What kind of game?" He inquired curious sitting down. If he wasn't so hungry he would go check it out but the site of the food had his stomach telling him to keep his priorities straight.
~~~~
Skye was a bit surprised that he wanted to continue to play. When he mentioned her cheating she glanced up ready to shoot back a retort of her innocence when she saw the wink. Glancing down slightly embarrassed, she was a bit surprised to see that he was only joking. Of course he wouldn't want to continue if he really thought she was cheating. Unless he wanted to catch her at it and point it out. She frowned. She knew several people who would do that. Of course they also relished in any mistake always rubbing it in. Picking up a piece, she glanced at Flynn from the corner of her eye. Flynn wasn't that type of person. Though she didn't know him that long, it just didn't seem to fit his personality to do that. Setting the piece down she glanced up at Flynn as he spoke about how he liked complicated things as he made his first move. Frowning at the board, Skye reminded herself to take it easy on him. With that in mind, she placed her piece on a spot she usually avoided - especially for a first move. "Your move." She informed him.
As the game continued, she kept instructing Flynn on what was a good spot or move and what not to do. Like before, her instruction was more quite and tentative at first but as the game continued she relaxed a bit and explained the reasoning behind the moves with a passion in her eyes. She didn't even notice when the wagon slowed and it wasn't until Zelia popped her head in did she realize they had come to a stop. Caught up in the game she waved her hand dismissively at Zelia's comment to come out, something she would have never done if she had been thinking about it. "We'll be out shortly." She replied not even looking over. Flynn was doing pretty good and had a good chance. Well, if he was playing someone else. But still, considering she was doing her best not to kill him he had a chance at winning. And she was going to do her best to let that happen, without making it to obvious.
With Zelia gone again, she set down another piece. "Oh that was dumb." She said shaking her head though in reality she had made the move purposely. Like the kind-hearted individual he was, Flynn offered for her to do it again. It was actually hard to purposely lose when he would give her the opportunity to take back the 'mistakes'. "No." She replied. "I should have known better. Go ahead." If they kept this up Flynn would win, eventually. Though it would take him a whole lot longer. Even now she could quickly turn the game around and win fairly quick. But no. She would not do that. Though she liked winning, she didn't want to rub another victory at Flynn. Not that she made a big deal of it but just winning again might make him feel bad.
The costume was actually not that bad. Despite what the wardrobe director said, the maid’s outfit fit Miranda pretty well, though she did feel a bit silly wearing it. She wasn’t normally a fan of various costumes and outfits which is funny considering she wore a uniform all the time. Perhaps that was why. She had the real thing and therefore there was no reason for the fake. But either way, her she was and she was going to do her part. Putting on the maid’s hat she tied it on and then looked at the mirror her assistant pointed her to. “Not bad.” She declared.
The young woman with her smiled. “Just a few minor alterations and it fit just right.” She informed. Her smile dampened. “You better join the others. They will be starting the opening bow shortly.” She stated.
“Opening bow?” Miranda inquired. “What’s that?”
The woman looked at her as if she didn’t understand why Miranda didn’t know this. “When all the actors and actresses come out and bow for their performance. It has to be done so the show can start.” She shook her head.
“Isn’t that at the end?” Miranda asked. From what she remembered, the entire cast would come out at the end and take a bow. It made more sense actually. Nobody knew who they were initially and you can see how well they acted before meeting the people behind the character.
The young woman laughed. “Right. And then we would be missing a major portion of our cast.” She shook her head, surprised at what she thought was stupidity. “Here you go.” She said nodding toward where the others were standing. “Good luck with your performance." With that she scampered off leaving Miranda to join the other members of the cast. Quite a few of the members looked down as if depressed. It seemed strange really. Did they really not enjoy being in a play? Why did they join up in the troupe if they didn’t like it? Figuring that one of their friends or a member of the troupe had died she left it be. Spotting the Doctor she headed toward him.
“You didn’t change.” She noted, a bit envious of the fact that men really could get away with a handful of clothing while females had to constantly change up their wardrobe or even get new clothes to avoid being criticized. But it really wasn’t something she was going to dwell on. Life had its little twists and turns and in no way was it fair. You just had to deal with it and move on. Don’t let the tiny thorns of life get you down or you would never be pleased. Not that she was always happy but still. It was a principle. “I guess he liked your clothes and decided it would make a good costume.” She smiled. “Though I bet it probably had to do more with your bullheaded stubbornness.” The incident in the hospital came to mind. He was a bit stubborn. She nodded toward the other members of the cast. “They all seem a bit down.” She stated, her voice lowering. “I wonder if we are replacing some cast members that passed away or something.”
“Everyone, line up for the bow.” The Director called out.
Quickly getting in line, Miranda nodded to the Doctor. “Best of luck.” She told him unsure if there would be time to catch him once the play started. “Break a leg.”
The man on the other side of her gave her a scowl causing her to quickly shut up. Maybe they didn’t use that expression anymore. Following the others she headed out as the curtain came up. Looking out over the enormous amphitheater, Miranda took a deep breath. Stay calm. Everything will be fine. Joining the others, she bowed as the cast was introduced.
He frowned. He had not been expecting that. Smaller on the outside? He looked at her. With all the companions he had, this was the first time anyone had said that. “It’s bigger on the inside.” He shot back, a bit miffed that he didn’t get to hear his favorite words. When she inquired about if it was magic or a machine he smiled and straightened his bow tie. “It’s a TARDIS. Time And Relative Dimension In Space.” He informed her. “My TARDIS.” He smiled as she was a bit confused on why he was showing her all this. It really was pretty simple – at least for him. He wanted her to become his new companion. Showing her his TARDIS was another step leading toward her traveling through time and space with him. Of course, they still had to deal with that silly ice woman first. Not to mention that he definitely needed to get Clara out of the Victorian aged clothing and into something far easier for her to travel in. No way was would all the large skirts, bustles, and hoops work in his line of work. There was an awful lot of running and that dress just wouldn’t do.
Suddenly, Clara fell backwards with a startled scream. “Clara!” He shouted dashing forward. Going to the edge of the TARDIS he watched as she and the Ice Governess fell down toward the roof of the house. He winced as they crashed down on the side of the house. Dashing back over to the controls, he kicked himself for dawdling. “Stupid imbecile.” He flipped the switch and held on as the TARDIS moved through space and enclosed Clara and the some pieces of the ice woman. Moving the TARDIS to the study he quickly brought Clara out and placed her on a table. Her face was pale and her eyes closed. “You can help her right?” He asked Vastra ignoring the exclaims for the humans.
Vastra looked at Strax who pulled out a device. “We’ll try.” Strax stated. When Latimer lamented about how she was died, Strax grunted. “This technology has capacities and abilities beyond anything your puny human mind could possibly understand. Try not to worry.”
Not being able to stand and do nothing, the Doctor scanned what was left of the ice pieces that were around Clara. “Is the creature still dangerous?” Vastra inquired.
The Doctor shook his head. “No. Not now anyway.” He stated. The plan had worked. The fall did enough damage that it would take a long time before she could reform, assuming she would at all. He had some of the shards here and some were outside. If they were together there might have been a chance but not now. At least, not a major one.
“Then you should be with her.” Vastra said nodding toward Clara. She knew that the young woman needed him as much as he needed her. “Go to her Doctor.”
The Doctor put the shards into a lunchbox. “She’ll be fine.” He declared though he didn’t feel it inside. He couldn’t lose another companion. Not again. Not when he was just starting to hope.
“The technology will help her for a short time but she won’t last.” Vastra declared. “Not for long.”
“She was in my care. She was my responsibility.” The Doctor said shutting the lunchbox a bit harshly.
“What is the point of blaming yourself?” Vastra asked, her eyes kind. She felt sorry for the man. He had lost so much and now he was going to lose another. Sometimes it just wasn’t fair.
The Doctor gave her a hard look. “None. Because she’s going to live.” Turning, he headed over toward Clara, setting the lunchbox aside. Pasting a tentative smile on his face he came over and took her hand. “Hey.” He stated smiling unsure what to say. “Hello.”
True. Kryptonite? Me? No...
Yeah, that annoys me. Discipline and structure should take care of that. Parents need to show their kids that certain things are not acceptable. I can't go in and start cussing my boss because I didn't like what she told me to do (or he for my University job). Children shouldn't cuss their parents and throw tantrums because they aren't getting their way.
Parents have to realize they are raising future adults and therefore train them as they want them to be in adulthood (while remembering that children will be children and that some instances are expected for that age)... Of course... I'm afraid I'm more strict. A good balance is always needed. Discipline but lots of grace and understanding. Being firm while loving... Yeah.
Old? Old? I highly doubt you are old. Considering you are just graduated (so you said - no I'm not stalking) you probably are still in your late teens (not that I'm good at guessing ages either...). Old is 70s, 80s, 90s years of age. Not anything near your age. *nods*
- I hope that didn't come off wrong....-
No. We don't want to do that. And I understand many people hate math. I actually disliked it in high school. It was only in college that I became a fan. But even then I didn't do many math classes...Though I did think about becoming a mathematician for a short time until I realized I would have to go back and redo some math courses as I had taken the business versions...Besides, Business was my thing. If I can split into two people maybe, but one - business all the way. :D
Rain? What is this word? I am unfamiliar with this concept (I live in an area that is just above desert - we don't get a lot of rain. :D)
Posted? Awesome I'll have to go read it. However, I doubt I'll get anything up. I'm slowly working on another one, going back and forth on a shorter one, watching a TV episode and then going to turn in. Hopefully by Saturday night (maybe earlier) I'll have something up.
((No problem. I can easily work with it. :) ))
Trex frowned thoughtfully. They have ran through quite an extensive list of various crazy or exotic things. "Can't think of anymore now." He declared regrettably glancing briefly at her. The warmth of her presence filled him and though he didn't say anything he liked when she leaned up against him. There had been a time that he had thought about taking it to the next step. However, they were good partners by then and he hadn't wanted to ruin it for the world. Now with Flynn and even Skye part of the team imagining anything beyond friendship was out of the question. There would be to many ramifications if it ever went south. Frowning, he pushed the thoughts out of his head. He didn't want to think about it. He normally avoided letting his thoughts ever go that way. Besides, he had his goal to reach. Getting into a relationship other than friendship could hinder his chance at obtaining S-Class. Though, in reality if he was honest with himself it probably wouldn't. Lucy was S-Class and she was in a relationship. Many other S-Class wizards were in relationships. But no... He was being honest with himself. Because to be so, he would have to admit that deep down what he was most afraid of was Zelia's rejection.
With the thoughts pushed out of the way for now, Trex glanced over at Zelia. "I don't know. Maybe we can see who could spot the most types of wildlife." He offered. They had done it before and it was a fun, competitive way to pass the time. "I got the horses." He quickly claimed smirking. Wincing at Zelia's punch he shook his head. "You really need to quit using me as a punching bag." He informed her. "It's unfair. It's not like I can hit you back." His mother's training was really ingrained. Sure, he can and had fought females before. But only because they needed to be taken down. He would not lay a finger one a girl that he didn't have to take out.
"If you can mix the tiles." She instructed as she started to fill the circle in with a large grid. Though the game actually required different color squares, she was used to the dirt version where you just had to remember the colors in your mind or not play with them. However, for Flynn's sake, she shaded some of the squares and put dashes through others. "This differentiates the types of squares." She informed him. "It's a minor thing that I normally don't play with but makes it easier in other aspects." As she explained the rules and got the first game going, it became a bit easier to explain. She loved Pai Sho and was glad to once again find someone to play it with.
Taking the game slow, Skye explained it as she went. She had forgotten that there were so many tiny variables included in the game. Each tile had a different image on it and therefore had different significant value. As she went she realized that the game was a whole lot more complicated then she realized - at least for someone who had never played it. "Sorry." She said as she remembered yet another tidbit about a certain play which had given her the lead. Moving the two pieces back she explained the new rule. "I'm sorry. I forgot how complicated it is to a beginner." She pointed toward another one of his pieces. "You want to play that one." She informed him. "It keeps you safe and gives you the upper hand." It was actually a bit hard for her. She was so used to playing hard with the intent to win that scaling back to help the confused Flynn was almost like going against her nature. However, even with that as she played her eyes brightened a bit and her posture became more relaxed, though she didn't notice.
The time flew by and after yet another victory for her, Skye winced. "I'm sorry. I've never taught anyone before." She didn't add the fact that she had played a long time against those who had done the same. She didn't want to make him feel bad. She toyed with one of the tiles, slipping back into her shell, though like earlier, she didn't realizing it. She enjoyed Pai Sho but she doubted he did. Despite the fact she was trying to scale back and giving him pointers along the way she had beaten him three times. If there hadn't been so many minor variables, he would have done well - for a beginner. He was a quick learner but she kept throwing variables at him changing the dynamics of the game. "I'm not cheating, I swear." She told him hoping he didn't think she was. She glanced at the tile in her hand. "Did you have a game that you like?" She asked tentatively. It was doubtful he wanted to continue. He probably thought she kept changing the rules to let herself win. She wasn't but how would he know that? The people she played with would do anything to win and you had to be on top of them to make sure they weren't cheating. As he had no experience with the game before, he would have no way to catch her and therefore would probably be extremely suspicious. Especially with all the rules she kept remembering and throwing into the mix.
