Current I feel like I'm rotating through the same four characters constantly since RPs die so quickly I never get enough quality time with them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you guys awnted to keep rolling I could throw up a post tomorrow, but it might be better to quietly move to another part of the day?

If anyone ever goes on a date Marie is going to glomp them so hard. And try to make them wear a tuxedo and/or dress while fixing their hair. And she would totally be the mom that made dates awkward.

And then she gets the one that's too awkward or meek to say no and they show up to a movie or an ice cream plus in full ballroom regalia?!
I edited my mispost with an actual IC post. It's a little silly.
Whoops, accidentally posted in IC instead of OOC. That's embarrassing. I'll take that opportunity to write out a post for IC and fill it then. :P
To a Dullahan having your head not attached to your body was a simple fact of life, one that Claire has put up with since birth. So even though she knew that very few others, even her own family, couldn’t take their heads off their shoulders without serious consequences, the fact is it was just a daily thing for her that at times might be overlooked. In this case it was excitement at guessing games. Claire fancied herself rather good at it from having to mime to her own parents where her brothers hid her head during her childhood; she might have even guessed Yuen’s intentions correctly if not for the whole fact her head could be removed. Instead she merely brightened, almost bouncing on the balls of her feet.

“Oh! Oh! I got it – your head got stuck and he was trying to help remove it but the water was making it difficult to breathe!” If possible Claire’s grin widened, only to her brows to furrow over her green eyes. “But wait, how did your head get stuck? I mean, one time me and my brothers tried to glue mine to me but it just came off like-“ There was a rush of escaping mist as the Dullahan reached up only to pull her head off her shoulders to punctuate her story, the black smoke curling as it settled from the sudden movement. She still looked rather puzzled, though as always the grin never left even as she dropped her head back down. It teetered for a moment, Claire carefully steadying it before pulling her jacket back up over the seam.

“I suppose we could try just pulling it off if washing it isn’t working…” The young woman mused aloud with her head attached once more, taking one hand to rub against her chin thoughtfully. “Any ideas?” Claire added to the girl beside her, though with her focus so intent on Yuen’s neck she didn’t even look to Kimiko. The penny would drop for her eventually.
The Landlord was certainly busy lately, that much was obvious.

From her position leaning against the kitchen doorframe Claire silently listened to the conversation she could hear drifting down the hall, only to almost choke on her next bite of apple. An attack, really? The dullahan grimaced – as much as one who was constantly grinning could – and pushed off the wall as Kimiko brushed passed her to enter the kitchen only to follow on her heels. She knew of the other girl vaguely from living at Primrose with her old assignment, but that wasn’t important now. It was time for a new one, from what people were saying.

Claire tossed the core of her apple and went to exit once more to join in on the conversation only for Kimiko’s words to sink in and cause her to spin on her heel to look to the two she had seen earlier. The dark haired one was still soaking, but on closer inspection with a sweep of her green eyes, and a little squinting, he indeed appeared rather harassed. Distressed, even. She tilted her head slowly before commenting in her usual, cheerful voice.

“This reminds me of when my brothers would shove my head into the sink as a joke. I don’t think he enjoys this joke as much, though.” Claire inclined her head towards Yuen, even as her hand fell to rest on her hip; more specifically the belt around her waist. It was a durable leather that, in times of emergency, could replace a certain human spine. She of course didn’t mention how her head was usually set to the side of the sink before she figured out how to keep it on properly, and she ended up face planting the metal basin. Yeah, that little part could be kept to herself.

Really though she’d probably not need any force. Just a clash of personalities is likely what happened here, like cats and dogs. Really, people would find anything to argue about! Besides, if these two were both new tenants she might end up watching over one and having to take care of it, like Thanatos!

I have problems don't look at me.

Working on a post now. Also I just recently decided to take the plunge into finally playing the first Bioshock and I had to put it down just after the opening scene because I have a fear of depths. This isn't going to work out for me I feel. :P
The voices had finally stopped whispering.

A steady clopping filled Claire’s ears as she finally began to wake, the sound comforting and familiar combined with the unnaturally smooth ripples of muscle beneath her, rather than a jostling gait of any regular horse. The girl’s fingers curled against the black mane of hair the consisted of her pillow before burying her face against it with a quiet groan.

“What time is it?” Beneath her the huge shire horse tossed his head upward almost pointing to the sky with a low sputter. “No way, it can’t be that late in the day-“ Claire finally pushed herself up from her position slumped forward on Thanatos to tilt her own head up, squinting at the bright light that filtered down from the trees above.

“No fucking way.” The dullahan let out a long suffering sigh and lifted a hand to run through her unruly hair, puffing her cheeks out before slowly exhaling. “Hell of a run last night, huh?” But at least the voices were quiet again.

It didn’t happen often that the whisperings started. To be honest it hadn’t in months, maybe even bordering on a year, but just recently – when her friend and first ‘assignment’ – had moved on they had started again. It wasn’t anything malicious, that Claire knew. It was almost comforting, a soft calling to come search for them. Find them, call back to them and bring them home. It sparked that wanderlust in Claire, and like clockwork she’d always follow.

So last night her and Thanatos followed the same old pattern and ended up scouring the more recluse countryside outside the city once night fell, her friend patiently putting up with her subtle tugs and pulls on the human spine wrapped about his neck to lead him. At first she chattered like usual to him, but as the night wore on Claire became quiet before she finally lost her head – literally. The rest of the night it remained cradled in her lap, arm protectively around her precious bundle as her eyes darted about in the dark light. It was a useless endeavour – in the darkness it seemed like a haze was always covering her eyes.

Claire never noticed when she started to close in on it, but Thanatos always did. Of course he would, he’s a smart horse, and after passing the same deer crossing sign the fifth time that night anyone would catch on if they weren’t visually impaired. He never protested and just let his rider urge him into gradually tighter loops until finally, finally she called him to stop from their endless walk. It was here, by that same sign and lonely little road the Dullahan curled her fingers into her hair and lifted her head right up, eyes darting and body tense but no sound coming from her grinning lips. They had to have stayed like that for upwards of ten minutes in the cold morning air before the first rays of sunshine finally began to peak over the horizon, and with it the exhaustion hit with the force of a tidal wave.

Thanatos was patient as ever as Claire grudgingly lowered her head to place upon her neck once more, the black smoky tendrils that leaked from the wounds curling about each other before finally fusing into a shaky seam. It wouldn’t hold against the right application of force, but it was enough to pass as normal. Claire had barely pulled the collar of her jacket up to hide it before almost flopping onto Thanatos and patting his muscled side.

“Next time, buddy, next time.” And as always Thanatos obeyed the unsaid command even as Claire buried her nose into the thick mane on his broad neck, falling asleep to his steady movements. It was like this every time, never ending in anything significant happening. Despite it every time they ended up out anyway, searching and searching.

After all, it was the whispers that lead Claire to first call out for Thanatos on his last day.

Of course now that they were almost home free it was fairly late in the day already, and despite being a behemoth of a horse sleeping on Thanatos was not good for Claire’s spine. The one in her body, at least; the one around Thanatos’ neck was fine where it was. Her hair was probably in need of a brushing too. Nothing to do about it though, now that they had finally reached their destination.

Hidden on the edge of a relatively unused hiking trail, far from the apartments and on the edge of the city Claire finally slipped off Thanatos, having to make a small jump to properly land and immediately beginning to stretch with a series of pops from her joints. She glanced to Thanatos with her ever present grin only to gesture to herself, other hand combing through her hair with her long fingers.

“Do I look like a mess?” Thanatos snorted and stomped his hoof, only to try and lean in and lick his rider. Claire immediately jerked back with a laugh in response, swatting at his nose. “Hey, hey! I’m not that desperate.” Deciding her hair was a lost cause Claire finally turned, stretching her hands above her head with a low grunt as her joints popped.

“You know, at least Luciana has a cushion. Maybe if we got you a saddle…” Immediately Thanatos reared up as though personally offended, only making Claire laugh harder. “Alright, alright, no saddle and no Luciana, I get it!” When he landed again, harrumphing and tossing his head Claire just reached over to put an arm around his neck, standing on her tip toes to do so.

“Thanks for the ride buddy, I’ll see you at home.” Thanatos whinnied, gave an affectionate nuzzle to Claire, and like that the black horse stepped back and seemed to just … dissolve. It was hidden from any prying eyes in this wilderness but none the less Claire was quick to move on from the site, soon finding the trail and within a few minutes of following it ending up right in the parking lot just outside. There was a Saad parked nearby, but all Claire was concerned with was Luciana. The chrome motorcycle, last year’s model of Suzuki Boulevard, sat patiently waiting in its spot she had left it last night before meeting up with Thanatos. Almost unconsciously Claire couldn’t help but pat the challis of her ‘metal horse’ as she got near, retrieving the helmet before mounting up to return home.

Luciana was fast, but Claire was still constricted by inconvenient things like ‘speed limits’ and ‘public safety’. It was definitely at least the afternoon when she finally rolled up to Primrose Terrace, and Thanatos would likely be pleased with the way his rider almost ditched Luciana as soon as she could to venture into the house, immediately making a bee line for the kitchen.

Awful lot of people today.

“Afternoon!” The Dullahan called out in a cheerful voice that matched her wide grin even as she single mindedly went toward the kitchen. Claire barely paid attention to anyone before immediately breaking into the fridge to grab an apple, biting into it and raising up. Slowly the images of the others she passed filtered into her mind. People crowded in the lounge, one of the new residents’s head soaked in the kitchen and smelling of cleaning agent, and if she recalled Marie looked ready to murder someone.

Claire’s chewing slowed and she backed up to the doorway of the kitchen, glancing down the hall and back in, repeating the motion several times. Even she could see the chaos that had exploded. She swore bodyguards couldn’t have a night off without everything getting flipped on its head.

“So… what warzone happened here?”
Almost done with Claire's post! Opening posts are my kryptonite and I always end up packing a ton into them. I'm terrible.

EDIT: There we go. Eh, a little long - I'll see about shortening it later. Sleep time now.
Spawnling said Blazion - I just noticed the "So far in the closet she's in Narnia" remark. Would that mean she's in denial about her sexuality or she's just so straight it hurts? Either way, this amuses me greatly.

She's in denial, though maybe not as much as the phrase implies. Just a little! The saying just always makes me laugh.
