I'm the second most recent IC post. Still waiting for another.
Jim didn't even bother trying to keep up with Luka's constant pace. His head throbbed, and even if he wanted to subject his body to more horrors, he couldn't muster up enough strength or coordination to even lift the glass. Instead, he mentally berated himself for accepting the challenge from the young alien woman.
Tim desperately scrambled to his feet, muttering expletives under his breath. "Did you see it? It was a bear! A huge one! It can't be far behind, run!" He staggered, almost tripping a second time, and leaned a hand on the cool stone wall to balance himself. His breath came in ragged gasps, his lungs overworked.
Jim responded by grabbing his shot glass and drank it in the same manner as Luka. Instantly, his throat screamed in protest. A terrible burning sensation filled his mouth and paralyzed his tongue. He felt as if he was aflame. Already, the effects of the drink were taking effect, unfocusing his vision and effectively destroying his brain. Still, he tried to put on a facade of coolness, setting his empty glass and smiling.

Although, I personally think now would be the best time for a heresy or pagan religion to rise up now. With the Timluks about to declare Jihad and the Ambrusians frequently infighting, the ensuing conflict will weaken both great religions, thus bringing an opportunity for them to be eliminated. It won't be easy though.
