I go to bed, have a lovely dream about one person expressing interest, wake up, and there's two interested and a meme.

I mean i wanted this but my poor young body can only handle so much.

@Zahir right now we're just getting set up so it's too early to worry about roles.

it'll be fun to see austria and Germany's relationship, considering they've hated each other for the last hundred or so years but now they're forced into an alliance. Same with Austria and the Ottomans... Austria was never the friendliest was he?

@DepressedSoviet i like the idea of countries being siblings if they have similar origins, i also like the idea of former colonial nations being the children of their former overlords. If it's just a new country formed out of someone else's lands then no there shouldn't be any attachment.

I was thinking that the united states' parents would be England and France, as would be Canada's, Japan would be a very distant cousin to China and England would be Norway's kid, those are just the ideas i cane up with, we'll see what ends up happening in that area.

If we're doing WW1, then we'll probably have to start before the war, like 1913 or around that, just so we can start off before everyone hates each other.

@DepressedSoviet I was having a really good idea for the League of Nations where he's really ill, and every time he tries to tell Italy or Japan to knock off their conquesting he just starts coughing, it gets so bad that he just passes out. He would live with France and Germany would absolutely terrify him. His death would have been the big "Oh shit, things are serious" moment, though everybody would have been like "I knew that would happen". I dunno, fun idea I suppose :D

I'll stay my hand on any big decisions until we get more people, though I'll start thinking about a character sheet, not start work on it just yet, just think about it.

@DepressedSoviet good points! Ww1 is my favorite as well but my vote doesn't count.

You also raise a good point on who is personified, should a country's age be based on the advent of its current form or on its formation as a sovereign state? Should organizations such as the league of nations be personified? Should unions like austria-hungary be one person or two? I'd like to hear your opinions before i make a choice.

@TalijaKey awesome! The Balkans are always fun, no matter where you are in history.

I've never seen hetalia but i have heard a lot about it, i was more inspired by a webcomic called Scandinavia and the World, but it's not like the idea's exactly new.
