The Kingdom of Soroya
1907

A Call to Arms

Freedom under threat?

May 6th, 1907

As of yesterday Survaekom officials have announced an official state of war between Soroya, after being rightfully denied their claim to the entire continents of Serranthia, Sarelia, and Faresia. What many have called “an unreasonable demand to start an unreasonable war.” Soroyan President Kevin Notles simply commented saying “To give up these lands is to surrender Soroyan pride. The Imperial Restoration has shown only to be a pack of wolves hunting for sheep.”

As of this week nations across the globe have begun mass mobilization of their industry and armed forces on a scale never before seen. Reports say that this war will be quick, others have denied these claims. Soroyan Generals have promised this war won’t last longer than the Soroyo-Anvegad Colonial War two years ago. An interview with general Naut Ranervelt renowned for his successful naval invasion of Soroyan Faresia in the Soroyo-Anvegad Colonial War has stated this “I can not promise a specific date or time when the bloodshed will end, but I can promise this, we will win. The sun never sets on the Soroyan Empire, and it will not be the Restoration that brings us into the dark.”

Though no mass conscription plan has yet to happen, many experts speculate that it is only a matter of time before this occurs. Several posters can be found calling upon Soroyans to play their part and enlist today.

The Ekonian Games Continue

The Ekonian Games

May 6th, 1907

After the recent declaration of war by Survaek, many feared that the Ekonian games would be canceled, but much to the surprise Kevin Notles proudly announced “The Ekonian games once stood above the terrors of war in the past, and so it will proudly stand against them today.” Invites have been sent across the globe and several nations have already accepted them, even nations in the restoration. However, several nations apart of the restoration have responded back shortly after informing Soroyan officials that they will not be attending this year, until the war is over.

Strangely enough, Zellonia has also denied the invitation to the Ekonian games stating that their people care little for friendly competition. A shocking statement to many to say the least, however no officials have made any comments on the reply.
@Boop_Im_A_Dragon, good post!

Thank you. Sorry it took so long, a little bit of writers block and a busy schedule left my hands tied XD.
Old Mans Corner

After untold time spent picking up loose bottle caps Robs began to count the total, “It seems that little distraction payed off for both whoever we were chasing and our business Oaf.” Oaf simply smiled as he continued looking for large animals to cuddle. “Oaf get back here, you don’t need to be actively looking for something dangerous.”

“Bear not dangerous” Oaf argued, before continuing. However anything he stumbled close to that was remotely friendly quickly scurried away from the lumbering giant.

“Look, what if I promise to buy you a bear when we get back to Ivan’s Brew. I promise, it will be nice and cuddly.” Robs pleaded, simply wanting to return to the old mans corner, before things got worse.

“Promise?” Oaf whimpered.

“I promise. Now let’s hurry back before things get even worse." After a bit more convincing Oaf and Robs quickly began returning to help the mercenaries put out the fire spreading throughout the old mans corner in order to help lessen the damage.
Bigher

Loud thumps in the distance could be heard at Illyuss, it was the god Bigher making his arrival. His size immense, for several miles a single step could be heard leaving a path of destruction that competed with the god of calamity himself. Arriving at the hall, he had taken a much smaller form than usual, his true size being too immense for even a palace fit for the gods.

Entering he stood around 20ft tall wearing sturdy leather armor, accompanied by his axe Sigmire and a worn wooden shield large enough to cover his head if held properly. His white beard so long it nearly touched his knees stained blood red from a previous battle, it had gone unwashed for a while.

“Greetings” he boomed followed by a long and hearty laugh. It was not often that he was in the presence of so many gods. Some of whom he respected more than others, not because of who they were, but of how they dealt with issues. He has never liked gods too afraid to face issues head on nor has he trusted them. The amusement of battle and the destruction that it left behind was taken away through ideals like planning and deceit. It was a testament to true strength, the ability to endure that he loved.

To large to take a seat next to his fellow gods, he simply stood along the end of the table, facing opposite to the throne. Two votes had been cast, the first for Prothos, an admirable choice by Onheil truly one of the strongest gods, the second for Orugoru, a more surprising choice. “I vote with Onheil. Prothos is truly a worth god for the throne, one whom I see fighting with me as an equal.” Bigher boomed. “I do not see the same for Orugoru.”

Stio Clal

Thousands had gathered in the Famous Stone Arena in Stio Clal, easily seating ten thousands attendees. Today was a sight like none-other. Grevog “The Titan”, crowned king of Stio Clal three hundred years ago, faced off against Alackos “The Iron General”, second in command of Stio Clal’s army. Both warriors of unseens magnitude, what many consider the strongest in history. It was the fight for the crown.

Grevog stood patiently facing opposite to Alackos in the arena. He had brought his warhammer “Devastation”, forged in the fires of a volcano it had withstood five hundred years of use. He knew that he had peaked for his age long ago, yet he held the confidence of a warrior. With the strength of Bigher himself, he feared little, he would prove the might of Stio Clal’s king.

Alackos gave a smirk, and taunted Grevog. The giant carried a large one handed sword and massive wooden shield. The only giant to wear armor in the entirety of Stio Clal’s army he had brought it today, as a testament to his strength. Given only to the strongest individual in Stio Clal’s army, determined by the king himself, it was now used against him. This armor was powerful, but it had not tested it’s durability against Devastation, nor has it seen weapons swung by a giant, let alone their king. It was a fight, few would ever see.

A gong was rung signaling the start of the battle, and both giants charged. The first swing was made by Grevog with a booming force strong enough to collapse a city wall, blocked by the large wooden shield carried by Alackos, before shattering. “Your shield will not save you from a second blow Alackos, say your prayers.” He boomed before making a second swing, however Alackos had mobility on his side. With a quick swing of his sword, he cut Grevog’s leg, throwing his next swing into a clear miss.

“You are old and weak, die like a good king.” Alackos shouted preparing to make a final thrust for Grevogs heart, before swiftly being knocked to the ground by a swift kick. The crowd cheered, as Grevog slowly began to stand once again. Preparing another swing, this one stronger than even that of the first, a clear shot for Alackos chest. Alackos tried rolling to the side, but his left arm caught by the impact of the hammer, broken and useless. The giant could only feel pain, unable to fight back. The Iron General’s armor could not deflect a blow from a warhammer, let alone one swung by the strongest of giants.

“You fought well.” Grevog remarked, before the final swing was made. This time for Alackos’ head, leaving him dead on the ground. “If any others challenge my authority as the strongest in Stio Clal then step forward.” The crowd fell silent, and no one said a single word. “Then it is decided, I am still king of Stio Clal. The strongest of warriors. As for who shall take the Iron General’s place, that will be decided soon enough. For now enjoy the festivities.”
Bigher, God of the Earth and Strength, King of the Giants

Indirect or Direct
He indirectly influences his people granting them power over the earth itself and the ability to create golems.

Appearance
Bigher often takes the form of a mountain, one the reaches into the clouds themselves. The peak covered in snow representing his beard, which is pure white. In certain situations however, especially in the presence of other gods, he appears in his true form, a massive giant so large that he stands above the clouds in tough leather armor, a long white beard that reaches to his belt buckle, carrying an Axe named “Sigmire”.

Personality
Bigher cares only for the strongest of individuals or those who wish to get stronger. Often times he finds himself fighting others, especially gods whom he sees as a worthy challenge. So obsessed with these challenges he often times will go out of his way to handicap himself just to make them more enjoyable.

Human Population

Giant Population

Golem Population
250,000

Denizen description
Giants
Giants stand anywhere from 10-15ft and have immense strength in comparison to the average human (the average giant can lift around 1,000 to 2,000 lbs.) and with skin as thick as leather armor. They have limited magical ability, able to create earth golems and manipulate the earth to create boulders and various other objects. Most giants can live to up to 800 years, but only have around 2-3 children during their lifetime. With their immense size however giants are not very agile and in combat take immense beatings being easy to hit targets.

Humans
Making up the majority of the population of Stio Clal are humans who have the ability to manipulate the earth into various forms and shapes, but other than that have no special strengths or weaknesses.

Golems
Golems are strong hardy human-like beasts made of the earth itself and stand around 8ft tall, but are as strong as giants. They however have no sense of intelligence, and if they stray too far (about 20ft) from the overseer (the person who controls them) or when their overseer is killed they are rendered immovable. They are incapable of being used as weapons of war, so they are just used in heavily labor tasks.

Government description
The Stone City is an absolute monarchy ruled by the strongest warrior, chosen strictly based off their strength in combat alone. If the current monarch were to die a competition would be held for any and all to enter, whether they are from Stio Clal does not matter. The only other way to dethrone the monarch is to challenge them to a fight to the death. The strongest emerging as the new king.

Though there are no regulations forcing them, often times kings will hold tournaments immediately after inauguration. These are often to decide new advisors, generals, or various other positions within government to help run the stone city.

Military
While the Golems work the field, the humans and giants are trained for war. Experts on the mountainous terrain the surrounds the city the men of Stio Clal are experts on defensive warfare. The human side of the force consists of nearly 70,000 warriors often carrying large body length shields, and two blades, a short sword and a small dagger. They carry heavy metal armor, making the effective in defensive situations. About 20,000 of those human warriors man the wall with throwing javelins as bows and arrows are seen as a weak man’s weapon.

The remaining army consists of around 20,000 giants, considered the strongest part of the Stio Clal army. These warriors carry anywhere between two handed great swords and small wooden shields and hand axes. Due to resource limitations they wear crude leather armor instead of steel like the majority of Stio Clals army. Thanks to the cultural values of strong leaders in Stio Clal most generals are often times Giants.

Culture
Stio Clal is truly a bastion to the idea of “survival of the fittest”, a land where your wealth and family matter little in comparison to personal strength and combat prowess. Though merchants and family ties can get you luxuries and homes, political influence and respect only comes from strength. The people of Stio Clal find that because of these laws and regulations the giants rule the land. There have only been two human kings in Stio Clal out of the thirty-eight that have been king.

Though humans hold little influence in the government of Stio Clal they still enjoy many luxuries due to golem workers, especially women, children, and the elderly. Since most men are trained to be warriors, many women are tasked as overseers and help build the grand walls of the city, repair broken down buildings, cultivate fields, and mine resources. This leads to a sense of respect for the women in Stio Clal that other cultures often times would see a lack of.

At the age of thirteen humans begin their training as warriors for Stio Clal, often times suffering through dangerous situations like combat with wolves and other beasts, sometimes even other men. When they turn sixteen they are enlisted into Stio Clals army until the age of thirty where they are free to live their lives as they wish, even if it means remaining in the army.

Giants from the age of fifty onwards begin training to become warriors of Stio Clal, but begin a much longer process of training, often taking the next thirty years of their life. Once eighty years old they are to serve until six hundred. Unlike humans, Giants who are men are expected to be warriors, often times giants seen doing anything else, but fight are shunned.

Other
Stio Clal is an extremely mountainous region surrounded by eight walls. Each wall leading further out of the territory and encompassing more land.
