Once they made it to the gym, everyone kind of scattered. So much for having new friends, she thought. She quickly banished it though. No sense in being negative now. Maybe I just need to put in more effort on my own. After all, they are probably thinking the same thing about me. She smiled to herself. This was a new place and she could be a new person. If that meant going out of her way to make new friends, that's what she'd do. She sauntered back over to Leon. "So, what do we do now? Just wait for an adult or something? By the way, I love your hair color. It's beautiful." She shifted awkwardly.

Kansas nodded at Ken immediately. She had seen trash cans knock over a few of the undead students before. There was no reason to think they couldn't make their way to safety by knocking them down with furniture. She turned to everyone she could see around her. She yelled, "Everyone grab a weapon of some sort! The heavier the better! Hit them with all the force you can!" She thought about adding it's your life or theirs but figured that would probably make some of them panic - and panic was the last thing they needed on their hands. Why aren't more adults here? How are they missing this, she thought. It didn't matter now, they needed to save themselves if no one else would. Kansas reached for the nearest chair.
I've read the last few pages of this thread with "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" by the Backstreet Boys in the background and it's probably the best decision I've made all day.
Max raised the collar on her black reefer coat as she walked down the sidewalk, only a few blocks down from her apartment. She pulled out the white headphones attached to her phone and mumbled to herself as she untangled them. "God, I don't know why boys drown themselves in Axe. Their skin tastes like..." Her sentence was cut off by a commotion across the street. By the sounds, some sort of party was being broken up -- or just starting to get good. You could never tell around here. This area of town was known for constantly having festivities interrupted when it got out of control. It's like teenagers these days had no sense of decorum. She caught a few of the faces of those mingling about and while they didn't appear to be teenagers, another observation stopped Max in her tracks. These people were terrified. She started to cross the street, hoping she could help in some way. That's when she caught site of another person. This man had dark hair and an aura of deep authority. She couldn't see his face but the color of his skin gave him away. Vampire.

Max returned to her side of the road, praying he hadn't noticed her. It could be him. It's not him. Maybe he knows him? The idea was silly. It's not like all vampires knew each other. Besides, Max had heard rumors lately of a rising of feral vampires. While she may have had the strength and heightened senses that would deter most humans, she'd never be able to fight off a feral alone. She was only a year old and ferals were rumored to be even stronger than an aged vampire. She put her headphones in her ears, turned the volume up to drown out her fear and picked up the pace. Hopefully she would make it home before anyone noticed her.

You posted this five hours ago... for me, that was at 1 in the morning. Either our time zones are way off, or you are an extremely early riser...

Same. You and I seem to be on at the same times so we must be the only ones in our zone...or the only ones that have a standard 9-5 day :P
@Weird Tales - he should do books on tape for a living. His voice is perfect.
I hate feminists who treat MRA like they're a joke and offensive. MRA have every right to be taken seriously as they do and they as free American should be allowed to have a voice.

Lol - that totally made me think of this:

Can turned vampires sense other vampires? And do humans remember being fed off of?
@Delta44

As she led Ken back to her table, he rambled on about video games...or something. She simply nodded her head and smiled. She really had no idea what he was talking about but she knew, in cases like this, it's easier just to play along. She liked Ken, afterall. Sure he was a bit - lively - but his heart always seemed to be in the right place. Besides, how often could you count on a guy for school spirit and enthusiasm? Hardly ever. She sat on the edge of her seat with her legs crossed and her chin in her palm. She was turned toward Ken who continued to be animated. She was still nodding and smiling, thankful that she had kept him out of detention this time.
