Bio

Hello! This is Buzzingbee! I used to be on here as BuzzBee but I had some trouble. I had issues in real life that made me go off for a while and then when I was going to come back on, passwords, emails, etc were forgotten and lost. xD But I'm back and ready to jump into where I left off!

Other Nobles

Francis Exner
Brerratic Nobleman

Age : 25

Bio : The husband of Beatrix and a wealthy knight. He's an ambitious man who enjoys power, which he usually abuses when he does get it. Francis acts polite and calm, usually hiding his ulterior motives and more aggressive nature from the outside world. Instead, he takes out most of his hidden frustrations out on his wife, whom he's rather controlling of.

Oliver Lenz
Brerratic Vassal

Age : 28

Bio : The husband of Dimia Lenz. He's a kind and timid man who often doesn't speak out much. He was taken by Dimia's beauty and she by his money, making them a less than perfect pair. Oliver is actually quite brilliant, being sharp when it comes to handling money and had a little bit of knowledge about everything as he usually spends his free time with his nose in a book while his wife is off at balls with her lavish gowns.

Tybalt Merton
Captain of the Royal Guard

Age : 45

Bio : After the failure to protect the old king, the former captain of the guard was dispatched and replaced by Tybalt. He takes pride in his job and having favor with the royal family. He's extremely loyal to the king and follows him a bit blindly. Tybalt, though a bit intimidating, is generally a level-headed man who

People of the Past

Cedric Turner
Brerratic Nobleman

Age : 23

Bio : Penelope first flame and heart break. Cedric is a charming individual who's quite skilled at manipulating. He was interested in getting closer to the Vermillion's for their wealth and power but soon found out Penelope didn't have access to either of those due to her uncle's hatred of her. Cedric was quick to toss her aside since she had neither of the things he needed. Since then, he's heard of her rising in rank and making a bit of a name for herself. Interested in using that to his advantage, he has hopes to get back on her good side.

Beatrix 'Bee' Exner
Brerratic Noblewoman

Age : 22

Bio : Beatrix was one of Penelope's closest childhood friend. Since her family were rather low ranking nobles, they were quick to let their daughter play with Penelope, hoping that friendship would be helpful to them in the future. Unfortunately, plans backfired. When John made it clear he was going to train Penelope to be a knight, Bee's parents completely disapproved as they worried their daughter would pick up similar interests as her friend instead of being focused on marrying a powerful husband. The two were quickly separated around the age of 14 and haven't seen each other since.

Once a lively and bold child, Beatrix is far from who she wishes to be. Feeling forced to follow standards and trapped with a controlling and abusive husband, Bee is a quiet and polite girl who rarely speaks up for herself. She has a rather pessimistic outlook on life and usually keeps her feelings and thoughts bottled away.

Letitia Whyte
Vermillion Servant

Age : 47

Bio : An older servant that has served the Vermillion family for many years. She was the closest thing Penelope had to a mother growing up and that isn't saying much since John often got in the way of them growing too close to each other. He worried that his brother would see it as an excuse to make Penelope a servant. Despite his interference though, Letitia and Penelope still developed a bit of a bond and are always glad to see each other when they get the chance.

Letitia is a warm-hearted woman who's known for being a bit mischievous as well as fun-loving. She makes the most of what she's been given in life and has served the Vermillions as a loyal servant. Though, she had always had a soft spot for Penelope and John, as she watched Penelope grow up and both of them are kinder than the rest of their family.

Krea Vermillion
Brerratic Noblewoman

Age : 42

Bio : Wife of Edward Vermillion and mother of Lucy. She is a graceful and elegant noblewoman who is highly involved in her appearance. She oversees the manor while her husband is away and is quite clever. Krea holds a strong dislike of Penelope just like her husband and still views her as a disgrace to their family despite the progress she has made as a knight.

Krea is also a large gossiper. She loves keeping in touch with the latest rumors and stories, usually doing so by going to lavish parties and spending time with the wives of other barons.

The Hydes

Merek Hyde
Brerratic Artillator

Age : 30

Bio : He's the oldest of the Hyde siblings and is the most distant from his family. Merek ended up settling for an apprenticeship with a well-known artillator and quickly picked up the trade. He's a bit lazy but has earned his title as a master craftsman of bows, arrows and the like. He's made it clear he has little ambition and usually keeps to himself and his work.

Dimia Lenz
Brerratic Noblewoman

Age : 26

Bio : The oldest girl of the Hyde siblings. Dimia is a noblewoman who is married to a wealthy vassal named Oliver. As the only one of her family to successfully rise in rank, Dimia is very proud of herself and is a bit conceited. She frowns upon anything less that what she deems perfect and is a bit protective of her family. She disapproved of her parents and Gavin choosing Penelope, thinking less of the noble with peasant blood. Needless to say, her and Gavin don't get along well.

Rowan Hyde
Brerratic Nobleman

Age : 17

Bio: A rambunctious young teen who still has no idea what to do with his life. He tends to give his siblings and family a difficult time. He tends to act out in order to get attention but it usually causes for him to get into trouble.

Thea Hyde
Brerratic Noblewoman

Age : 14

Bio : The youngest of the Hyde siblings who has been coddled by all of them. A bit of a brat but she idolizes Gavin and wishes to be strong like him. Unfortunately, her parents and older sister aren't supportive of her picking up a sword to fight.

I could see that cx Especially once John actually warms up to him lol which is only going to further upset his actual son Layth xD

Feel free to just have them kick out Penelope when they actually reach the king lol

EDIT: Decided to go ahead and add in some of the new characters that might be popping over the course of their time in the inner kingdom cx I might add a couple more later but for nows it's just these guys lol
As they reached the castle, Penelope looked over the familiar building. It felt a bit strange for her to be returning there now, especially with Crow of all people. There was a small sense of comfort from being there though. As she thought about it now, it might be her last visit to the castle and inner kingdom altogether since she was planning to run off with Crow at the end of the war. It made her feel a small bit of peace that she was able to visit one more time.

When Crow spoke up, she looked over at him and gave a small nod of agreement. "Can't argue with that. I didn't think I'd see this place until after the war... and that was only before I met you again." she shook her head and moved to follow after Crow as he stepped into the building. Once inside, her gaze swept over the inside. Nothing had changed since her last time there and she dipped her head respectfully to a couple nearby guards.

"Ah, so you've finally arrived."

Almost as soon as the three were inside, the man Penelope recognized to be one of the king's attendants came walking towards them, followed closely by the captain of the castle guard. The captain was an older knight named Tybalt, whom had replaced the former captain after the incident with the half failed rebellion. Penelope had only worked under him for a few months before she had moved on to work with Mia instead.

"Yes." John answered as he moved to step to the front of the group. He dipped his head to the attendant and shook hands with Tybalt. "I trust the king has informed you both that I'm to take the thief directly to him, correct?"

"He has." Tybalt mused, his gaze narrowing on Crow. "I've merely come to offer extra guards."

"That won't be necessary." John responded shaking his head. "My daughter and I have handle him fine the whole way here. The only thing left is to bring him to his highness."

"Are you so sure? You can never be too careful with these criminals." Tybalt wrinkled his nose.

"With all due respect sir, we have it handled." Penelope spoke up now as she met the captain's gaze. Crow was already nervous enough, the last thing he needed was to be further stressed out by a bunch of guards surrounding him. She offered him a polite smile and then looked to the attendant. "The only thing we need is to see the king. I'm sure he doesn't want to be kept waiting for us any longer."

The attendant blinked and quickly nodded his head. "Right, of course. Follow me." he said turning to lead the way to the throne room. John murmured a word of thanks and moved to follow the man. Penelope glanced over at Crow with a quick, reassuring smile before focusing her gaze back ahead.
Poor Crow cx Penelope tried to help cx And so did John but he's bad at comforting lol
Penelope gave his hand a small squeeze as he answered her. In all honesty, she was glad that she was able to be there with him as well. It was clearly going to be a bit difficult for him and she wanted to help him as much as she could, even if it just meant giving him whatever moral support she could from the sidelines. As he leaned into her a little more, she pressed a soft kiss to his temple.

"I don't know... I think meeting your estranged father for the first time would be difficult for anyone." she mused softly. The knight shrugged her shoulders. "And who's to say your father isn't a bit afraid too? Just because he wants to speak with you doesn't mean he's completely confident." Penelope rubbed her thumb comfortingly over his hand and pressed a kiss to his cheek before pulling back to shoot him a small smirk. "Especially considering his son is the most successful thief in the kingdom. Your father may be the king but surely he's still nervous."

John rose to his feet and stretched for a moment before looking over at the two. "Alright, we should start heading for the castle again." he mused then paused, crossing his arms as he looked towards the building from the trees. "You're starting to even make me anxious." he added in a light grumble as he looked over towards Crow. "The sooner it's over with the better."
Ok cx I went ahead and skipped them most of the way there!
Feel free to take them to the castle if you want! I figure Penelope would just try to comfort him a bit before the final stretch
Penelope looked over at Crow and gave his hand a soft squeeze as he took her hand in his. She gave him a small smile as he thanked them and leaned in to meet him as he pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "Alright." the knight nodded, glad that they seemed to be able to help him a little. As he packed his things, she moved to grab hers as well and walked over to wait with her father for Crow.

As he joined them, she moved to stand closely besides him, taking his hand in hers one more time before she eventually let go as they headed out of the inn. Though her father may have been more tolerant, it was still best for them to keep a distance from each other now that they were getting closer to the castle. There was a high risk of having someone recognizing both of them and it likely wouldn't go well if they didn't merely seem like a simple escort to the castle. Still, as they traveled, she remained nearby him, hoping that would be enough to calm his nerves for now.

The day went by with much less tension and silence than the last two days. John didn't bother hovering around her like before and instead kept at the front as he lead the way. He still hadn't mentioned anymore about her mother but Penelope didn't push yet. There were plenty of other things on her mind at the moment so she figured it could wait until another time. Perhaps after Crow had met with the king and things were settled. Instead she spent the day in Crow's company, trying to make idle chatter in hopes to keep his nerves at bay as they got closer to the castle.

The group eventually stopped for a break a little ways from the castle. It was about midday and the palace loomed in the distance. Penelope leaned back against a nearby tree and looked up at the building. She had spent a large amount of time in the castle before and usually, it was nearly like a second home to her. This was the first time returning to it made her feel a bit anxious. The knight let out a soft sigh and moved over to Crow's side, figuring it was probably much worse for the thief now that they were so close.

"How are you doing?" she asked softly as she reached for his hand. John had taken them off the main road to stop in a nearby clearing in the surrounding forest. She figured it was safe enough for her to get close to Crow as long as they kept aware of any patrols that might be wandering around nearby.
Even John noticed xD
