Hello! This is Buzzingbee! I used to be on here as BuzzBee but I had some trouble. I had issues in real life that made me go off for a while and then when I was going to come back on, passwords, emails, etc were forgotten and lost. xD But I'm back and ready to jump into where I left off!

His vague reply was enough to tip the knight off to the subject he was clearly trying to avoid. Her smile faded and was replaced by a small frown. Normally his vagueness would have likely been shrugged off by her but since she knew what was wrong, she was able to read into it probably more than what he would have liked. The way he looked away from her and answered was enough to tell her that the dream had happened again. Surely if it hadn't, he would have told her that there was nothing more to be concerned over. Or at least addressed it directly rather than dancing around the topic like he was now.

She opened her mouth slightly to say something but didn't get the chance to as he attempted to change the subject. The knight pursed her lips into a thin line, hesitating to answer. She nearly didn't until she caught sight of a servant stepping over to place her food on the table. The knight gave a grateful dip of her head to her before shifting her gaze back on Crow. "I slept fine. Woke up a bit late and nearly didn't get the letters out in time.." she replied with a shrug.

Out of the corner of her eye, she watched the servant leave before shooting Crow a frown. "You're still having that dream, aren't you?" she asked him in a low voice.
As he should XD

And oh really? lol that's funny cx I don't know any one with the same names except for Layth.. Which is really ironic since he's actually a really nice guy xD

OH! But funny story about Crow's real name, I was super into Once Upon A Time way back around the first two years we started this and Captain Hook's character on there reminded me a bit of Crow (plus their appearances are kinda similar) so waaay before it was revealed IC I was hoping it'd be Collin or Killian (Collin being the name of the actor that plays Hook and Killian being the real name of Hook on the show) XD So I definitely approved of the name choice lmao
Penelope crossed her arms on the table as she waited for her food, silently glancing around the Great Hall. The knight's mind wandered to what her plans for that day would be. With the letters sent out, there wasn't much else to do but wait for replies and keep an ear out for any possible nobles that would be willing to support her. It lead her to think about her next topic of concern which was Crow and his nightmares. She felt a bit of worry bubble inside her as she wondered if the viceroy had had the same dream again.

If he had, she needed to start doing some research. While he may have wanted to just deal with it on his own, the knight knew she'd have a difficult time letting him suffer through the nightmares. She drummed her finger tips against the table, frowning to herself at the thought. Her frown faded though as she caught sight of him entering the Great Hall. She was a bit surprised he had gotten there so late but perhaps he had just slept in due to the long night before.

Which could mean the nightmare was a one time thing. The thought was enough for her to cast him a small smile as he made his way over to join her. Despite her wishful thinking, Penelope still kept an attentive eye on the viceroy. "Morning. You sure got here late." she greeted him as he sat down at the table. She paused for a moment and shuffled her feet as a hint of concern seeped into gaze as she studied him. "How'd you sleep?"
Poor Crow xc

Also just barely realizing I gave Fischbach the same name as your husband xD whoops
Penelope made her way out to the stables and was able to locate a messenger that would be headed to the northern outer villages as well as a different one for the other barons she had written located further south. It came as a relief to the knight to be able to get the letters off in time. While she'd likely only have to wait a couple days longer for different messengers to take them, it was just better to get them out as quickly as she possibly could. With only two months to make progress on the end of the war, time was not on her side.

She began to make her way across the courtyard and let out a small yawn. As she made her way back into the castle, she dipped her head to Tybalt as she noticed him stepping outside. He paused as he spotted her and then began to walk towards her. Realizing he likely had something to tell her, she moved to meet him.

"Ah there you are Vermillion." he sighed crossing his arms. "I was trying to find you."

"Sorry. I had letters to send off." Penelope explained with a shrug. "What did you need from me sir?"

"I just wanted to tell you what your shifts are going to be for this week." Tybalt explained. "Starting tomorrow you'll have the night shift on the third floor, second hall for two days. After that, you'll switch over to midday front gates for the rest of the week."

Penelope nodded her head as he gave her a quick summary of where she was going to be stationed for the coming days. It was interesting to hear that she'd be stationed over night at the hallway near Crow's room. Though she wouldn't be able to really spend any time with him while on watch, she was at least glad to be close by. "Alright. Thank you." she said dipping her head. He returned the gesture and the two continued on their separate paths.

The knight ran a hand through her hair, trying to smooth it down as she headed to the Great Hall. As she suspected, she managed to make it just in time for the tail end of breakfast. The crowd was dwindling down, leaving plenty of empty seats, and she was unable to spot any familiar faces. Well, at least not friendly ones. She offhandedly spotted Fischbach who sent a glare her way once he looked up from his meal. Thinking she must have missed her friends and Crow, she moved to take a seat at one of the empty tables and waited for her breakfast.
Ok I'll have her get assigned to it soon then lol

And makes sense! I think Penelope's definitely going to have a bit of difficult time trying to get answers though lol aside from Eldon who's just going to be like 'here! do drugs!' xD
Penelope smiled softly at the former thief. "I love you too." she murmured back before turning to leave. She headed to the door and pause as she cautiously opened it, peaking out to make sure the corridor was clear before stepping out of his room. Now alone, she made her way to the staircase, treading a bit carefully as she neared William's post. Luckily the older knight just shot her an accusing glare that she was quick to brush off with a snort.

With no resistance upon her return to her own room, the knight quickly retired to her room for the night. Since it was a late hour, she wasted no time in settling down for the night and fell asleep without any difficulty.

The next morning came and the knight began to stir. After a late night, she was nearly ready to sleep in a bit later than usual. Tybalt had yet to assign her a shift and the warmth of her bed felt much too comfortable to leave during the cold morning. Penelope nearly let herself fall back to sleep until her eyes widened with realization. The letters! She still had to get them sealed and to the messengers before they took their leave.

Suddenly more awake, she scrambled to get up, slipping her boots on and sealing the letters as quickly as she could. The knight didn't bother to straighten out her appearance like usual before heading out of her room and off towards the stables where the messenger's usually kept their bags. With any luck, she still had time to add her letters to their pile of deliveries. It seemed she'd just have to catch the tail end of breakfast that day.
How soon do you want to throw that in?? I figure it'd have to be relatively soon-ish since I feel like the guards that hear him would start making rumors spread pretty quick amongst the knights lol

Also thanks! I had tried to squeeze in a bit of my own research on my off time so I found some of those things too lol I also tried to look up PTSD in medieval times but most of the articles suggested that knights would take time off and sorta use religion as a way to cope I guess? Which I figured wouldn't really work too well for our story since most nobles aren't very religious

Also! I found a song that I think will really fit Penelope when the Younisian Princess comes into play lol

Penelope waited quietly for his response and was a bit surprised that he denied her offer, especially since it was clear from before that he had wanted her to stay. Though she was worried about him and didn't really want to leave, the knight had to admit he was right about her being tired. She was certain she could force herself to stay up if she tired but getting sleep was much more appealing.

She gave him a small smile and leaned in as he kissed her. "Alright, if you're sure." she mused with a small nod. Moving off of his chest, she slowly sat up and stretched out her back for a moment before letting out a small yawn she wasn't able to suppress. "I better get going then. With any luck, I can still get past William without him trying to bug me." she sighed.

Now a bit more awake from moving, she shifted to get up from the bed and collect her clothing from the floor. Once she finished getting dressed, she stepped over to the table to collect the letters that they had written as well, making sure to put Crow's underneath her letter to Olivia. She folded them neatly so they'd fit into her pocket and then turned back to Crow. Even though she was ready to leave, she was still a bit hesitant to leave, especially after learning about his nightmare.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow." she murmured, stepping up to him. She leaned in and pressed an affectionate kiss to his cheek and ran her hand down his arm. "Try to get some sleep and hopefully it was just a one time thing."
Penelope's probably going to do some research behind his back anyways xD
And ooo I like that idea! Penelope would probably panic thinking he's being attacked lol
