Ley grumbled a little. The train she was on was going especially slow, some excuse about 'debris on the tracks'. She didn't care. She wanted to be at the conference now. All of her equipment was in the luggage carriage, and Celestia save the train operators if any of it was damaged when she got off.

Cutie Mark: Ley Lines cutie mark is a scroll with three sparks coming off the end. Her special talent is magic, but not in the sense that she is particularly powerful. On the contrary, she's below average. What Ley has is an innate knowledge of how magic works, able to craft spells efficiently and quickly.

Personality: Ley is a focused mare, often not noticing the details of life due to being buried in her work. She has few friends, though she does enjoy the time she spends with those she is close to. When she’s not focused on work, she is a slightly disorganised, yet happy mare. In her spare time, she enjoys casual reading, games of chess and staring at pretty mares.

Qualifications/Specialty: Ley has a Masters degree in Magical Theory from the University of Canterlot, and is currently working as a librarian at the Canterlot Research Library, as well as performing her own research.

Background: Ley was born, and has spent most of her life in Canterlot. She attended school there, and graduated from university there two years ago. In fact, the only time she has lived outside of the city was during a year’s sabbatical where she lived in Gryphonia, where she learnt about traditional gryphon culture and history, an odd departure from her usual studies. This is also where she learnt the meditation style used by gryphon shamans.

Ley is currently researching a unifying theory of natural magic that connects all living things.
