What if your character is drawn in such a style? But of course not belonging to an anime? As in "This is sorta the art style we have to work with." Is that acceptable?

Yeah, an AU where the diverging point is MKII (so the first game is still canon, Liu Kang still beat Goro and Shang Tsung, the original Sub-Zero is dead, etc.) sounds like a good idea really.

...Would also be helpful to me since, like I said, 90's kid so the first three are the ones that I really remember best, ahah. ^^; ...And honestly the last game in the series I actually got around to playing was MK vs DC (and mostly just so I could play Captain Marvel) but yeah.

We can still just go with the alternate universe. The fact is, MKX is relatively new and if a lot of people haven't played it yet then it will be hard to base our story off of it.

The idea of starting the story after the first MK makes sense, leading into the events of MKII. It would be much more accessible to people.

I loved Sholin Monks, it might have been over the top silly, but it was coherent and simple, which is nice because it never over complicated things and it was also a Metroidvania styled game.

The Co-op things were more inspired by that, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Xillia and yeah.

But seeing as this can go either way, I also wanted to explore the elementals. Like Johnny Cage's,Jade's and NightWolf's shadow element. I know it is explained in the comics, but I'm not the richest guy to buy them.

Like, I get I'm going into advanced territory with possibilities on a what is an otherwise simple series, but I like the idea of something above and beyond just basics. Yeah, heavy topics to delve into, but we can still do a simple execution of it.

I'd honestly want to be a Wind Ninja-esque character.

Well there seems to be a good amount of interest so I'll work on the official RP soon. I'm thinking of maybe just continuing from MKX because I feel as though people want to make some new original characters, and if we started from the original MK we would be playing as the established characters. Plus MKX ends on a bit of a cliffhanger that will allow us to really take the story in a cool direction.

It could be an Alternate Universe, as in it does not have to be every established Character.

It is still just an idea.

But I'd let others vote on such an idea, either way, it is entirely your call.

What would you guys like?

An Alternate Universe with Races you can make to alter history? New Sorcerers? Maybe new Elder gods?
What types of combat and how would it work? What about Co-op? Like teams as well as Team Techs?

(Example, say I was a Ninja or Elementalist who used wind and a Shiri Ryu Ninja used fire, could do a whirlwind attack, to a wider arc of flames. Just an idea.)
