Bio

New roleplay: https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/189457-the-eye-of-the-needle-where-fantasy-and-sci-fi-collide/ooc

Hey, I'm Catharyn! I joined the Roleplayer Guild on 2nd Feb 2011, then rejoined on the 17th Jan 2014 after Guildfall.

I was active every day until late 2015, accruing (i think) around 7k posts across dozens of roleplays. Then, I started working and had to gradually slow down my RP schedule. In 2017, I officially went on hiatus when other commitments got fully in the way of roleplaying.

This continued until the COVID-19 pandemic hit, when I suddenly realised I had a lot more free time in lockdown! So in mid-2020, I returned to the Guild with a vengeance. I also managed to get The Cradle 1x1 off the ground - a story i've had percolating for almost a decade.

My posting schedule has slowed down a bit now that the world has opened up again. I still love science fiction, fantasy and espionage themes, and generally aim for around 300 words per post.

Nice one Soul! i love the Group's structure, surprisingly bureaucratic and well organized for an anarchist network.

Just noticed now that the OOC is up! Once I'm through reading all the background info, there will be a character sheet coming your way.

Great :D I know i haven't been keeping the character section up to date (i'll do them all at once), but how many participants do we have now? I'm almost in favor of starting the IC soonish.
I just watched Ender's Game - I won't spoil the particulars for people who haven't watched it or don't like spoilers, but it has some similarities to the Tindrel History. I'll tell you how in the hider below. Beware though it might ruin the film.

SPOILER ALERT

So far:

Chirix: Strong, dexterous, exceptional team-workers; herd mentality, panicky, overly emotionalGorrompek: Fast, agile, rapid reaction times, fairly robust; overly aggressive, overzealous, tendency to act before thinkingEliazoph: Extremely intelligent, the cleverest often working at scales beyond human capability; not very practical, physically inferior to humans, often absent-minded, sometimes overly logical, rarely decisive.

I'll put that in the Tindrel section. Guidelines for how races conduct themselves are useful but i also want players to run with their characters and see what they can create. I'm sure as the RP goes on people will refine the races so that they all work perfectly (or imperfectly) together.

Aha, but it's HiveTank running the show, using the more violent organisations in tandem with the peaceful ones in a carrot-and-stick measure. The way I'm currently seeing the Eliazoph, or at least some of them, is that they're very good at long-term planning. The Tindrel in these organisations are also desperate to get themselves out of the mire, and the general opinion is that the best way to do that is to work together, no matter what you think of your neighbours. After all, the TEFfers are probably unlikely to ever deal with Black Carapace or Shadow-Weavers. Might not even know they're affiliated with them.

The Eliazoph race seem similar to the San 'Shyuum (Prophets) of the Halo Universe, although that doesn't mean any of the traits or characteristics have to be the same to. Just putting it out there. In other news, i'm going to work on getting the races up to scratch then we can maybe start to think about an IC. Y'all excited!?
Wow, i like it! Well done, nice work.
I think the collective idea is exciting, and also gives people looking the roleplay the Tindrel more choices. The Liberation Front gets a yes from me.
Anyone else wanna weigh in?
Any number of things will go down I'd go for whatever roleplays the best.

Hmm, that too. You're full of creative ideas Cathyface.

It's just a suggestion though, you guys need to sort it out amongst yourselves.
Like a tumultuous gasp for air, loose pieces of masonry skittering around and old bones rattling violently, a Banshee melted from the pores of a statue of a beautiful goddess and looked at the adventurer. "Beware the Chamber of Spam! Once inside, only the Chosen ever leave!" Letting out an ear shattering scream, the Banshee circled the room in a fury of wispy smoke before thundering back into the depths. The apparition left with such haste than once the torchlight had stopped fluttering, one might convince themselves it was a figment of the imagination and nothing more.

Sounds good to me. Though I haven't heard anything about this Serious Crime Division. Perhaps I should explain more about the SRTU. There are mall cops, they call the police when things go wrong, the police call for more police when things go wrong, more police call SRTU when things go wrong. And past that, just hope that theres a military garrison nearby. What did you have in mind for the Serious Crime Division? It sounds to be more on the investigation side of things.Though I could see the SRTU being a component of that.

True. It could also be the classic CIA/FBI feud situation.
