[Here's the OOC](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/75245/posts/ooc) Everyone is accepted, please post your character sheets into the character tab and be patient while I fix up the IC and OOC. Be aware that the first mission will be rescuing the Avatar, who has been captured and locked in a somewhere deep in Republic City. SlowPlow, maybe find a way to implement Toku's kidnapping into his bio?
![enter image description here](http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/055/7/a/electric_rain_by_unfor54k3n-d3abylb.jpg "enter image title here") ### Water, Earth, Fire, Air. --- The avatar, master of all four elements, has rose and fell with the world like a tide. Avatar Korra fell nearly two hundred years ago, died saving the land once more from those who wished for chaos or order, and the avatar after her, a handsome man named Wan, died peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind an era of prosperity and hope for everyone. Or... So he thought. The nations were swelling with power and knowledge. Computers were born first, allowing the lands to discover whatever they were unaware of, and then phones, better cars, television, guns. The time of industry was upon the land, and from it new technology sprung one after another, as well as a splurge of pollution. Future Industries lead the nations into a time of lights and electricity, but at what cost? Cities grew into havens for the homeless and killers, small villages became working towns, full of comfortable houses and the common middle class citizen. The change was thought to be good, but was it really? Humans strive for knowledge, almost aggressively so, and soon, whispers of inhumane experiments began to fill the streets. Benders have gone missing, and the new leaders of the Southern Tribe, Future Industries, and Republic City have caused a bit of suspicion in the communities. Unknown to the rest of the world, a dark group called "The Seekers" has begun to stir. Their current plan is unknown, but those who know of them know it can't be anything good. We're here to uncover their secrets, as well as save the missing Avatar and the rest of the world if needed. Who are we? Just call us The Jiyū (Based on [Avatar: The Dark Age](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/74102/posts/ooc)) --- Things to Know: WIP The Jiyū - The freedom fighters who are going out of their way to save the world before it is too late. Centered in Republic City, the Jiyū's main headquarters is an old, ooold apartment building, run by Tai-Mei. The landowner also doubles as the leader of the Jiyū, and she is appointed as head for a reason. Tai-Mei disguises the Jiyū's base as an apartment building, and many of the members live in the rooms without pay (though there are many civilians that live there as well). The apartment [building's](https://41.media.tumblr.com/fddc819b2611c96a4e99162d850a2b6a/tumblr_n46zioucqC1qai03no8_1280.jpg) alias is "Green Heights". The Seekers - The little known threat to the nations. Supposedly, many of the world leaders are apart of this clan (or, at leats thats how the rumors go), and they seem to have a very devious plot. The possible kidnappers of the Avatar and many other benders. They seem to have some influence over Future Industries. --- **Nations:** WIP Water Tribe: The ever-winter of the two poles still are a major part of the Tribes lives. Motorboats and roads have recent plagued the white landscape with black, and pollution is a growing threat. Under new leadership, the Southern Tribe has been the center of suspicion for some time now. North: Located at the North Pole, the Northern Water Tribe city is huge and multi-tiered, built into the icy landscape. Looming over the city are giant ice cliffs from which it was originally built. The city rests on the shores of the Northern Sea, and behind it is an enormous frozen tundra. The city of ice has grown exponentially in the past few decades. Buildings scrape the sky with metal-infused ice, allowing for more people to gather and live in the city, and lights gleam blue and purple from within the rooms of scholars or scientists. The chieftain's home remains at the top of the ring, a large, white-blue manor where people come and go as they please. Technology is mostly seen in the center if the city, where glowing billboards and gleaming store fronts gather around a paved town square. Powered by waterbending, gondolas are used to navigate the city's expansive system of canals. Roads have since been placed next to these canals, allowing for easier travel for non-bending citizens. The sewer system of the city is extremely advanced and expansive, making for an easy hiding place for many of the homeless that line the city streets. Since the election of Chieftain Igoo, the people of the Norther Tribe have begun to loose their connection to the spirits. The Spirit Oasis has since been lost to the mortals after a horrible avalanche, burying the cave in thick snow, and the spirits in the Spirit Wilds have begun to show up less and less as the weeks pass on. The tier system works much like the Ba Sing Se walls used to. The lowest tier is where the poor gather, the Slums. The second tier is the middle class, and the third the high class. The final tier is where the chieftain lives, completing the tier and the class system. South: The Southern Water Tribe has bloomed since the addition of technology. Buildings have grown taller, made of wood and stone and snow, and the addition roads have allowed travel to be easier. The center of the city is where festivals are usually held, and colorful billboards and lights line the tall buildings with energy. The chieftain's home sits at the top of a snowy hill, a relatively big house where many town meetings are held. A road has been paved toward the spirit portal, allowing easy travel to the spirit world and, if not for the North's forgetfulness of the spirits, the Northern Tribe. Foggy Swamp: Not much has changed, they still live in huts, but have introduced some helpful tech into their life. No electricity, no plumbing, only swamp. Earth Kingdom: The entirety of the Earth Kingdom has shifted towards technology. Paved roads and cars zoom through the mountainous landscape, and the glow of small cities can be seen from almost every hill top. There have been some rumors surrounding Ba Sing Se, little whispers that tell of the Dai Li's return. Ba Sing Se: Ever since the collapse of the walls during Korra's era, Ba Song Se has never been the same. The class system has begun to fall apart once more, with the outer part of the city returning to a slums-like state, while the middle of the city has been almost completely torn down to welcome in the "president's" new home. Skyscrapers claim the air, and smog surrounds the large city in a massive cloud. Many of the buildings are made of complete metal, with stone for architectural touches, and smaller, slum-based homes are almost strictly sheet-metal made. Roads have been paved and cars rush through the richer parts f the city. The city square is huge and full of gleaming lights and storefronts. Alleyways are considered a death sentence, and odd people dresses in black wander almost every street corner. The catacombs beneath the city have been left untouched, but those who attempt to go down into them have never returned. Fire Nation: Pollution is rampant in the Fire Nation.Smog coves most of the land, and many of the forests and pastures have since died because of this horrid fog. Cites are huge and sweltering with people and power. The new Fire Lord leads her nation benevolently, and she is a very well-liked figure.

Standing at about 5'3" and weighing a mere 121 pounds (135 pounds with the added weight of her leg), her body is small, thin, and delicate looking. While she is young looking, Akira is far from unattractive, with a heart-shaped face, angular, pale eyes, and asymmetrical, colorful hair. Doll-like lips and a small nose give her a porcelain appearance, and blue orbs glare off in an intense expression at all times. Her hair, once probably straight and black, has been chopped awkwardly and semi-dyed red. Her body is mostly flat all around and nearly rock hard from her intense training. Muscles line her arms and leg, and abs are present on her lower abdomen and stomach. Her hands and feet are surprisingly large for her small stature, and her legs make up a majority of her height. Her left leg is almost entire bionic, save for the remaining flesh just below of hip, and it is normally hidden behind long pants and skirts due to her dislike for its appearance. Akira generally dresses in cool colors, and enjoys feeling free and comfortable. Tank tops and sweats are a norm, as well as flowing scarves, tight suits, and anything else she finds appealing to the eyes. Her feet are almost protected by tabi, it's almost as if she doesn't own any other kind of shoe, and she often covers her head with hoods or her personalized gas-mask. Akira holds a slight interest in makeup, and has quite a few tattoos, including ultraviolet red spider lilies, black and white koi, and quite a few circuit board designs. [Uncolored Sketch](http://41.media.tumblr.com/6f0dd4c6cc411060921988bb6770e1f8/tumblr_nhqgto7lb41rtsh7fo1_1280.jpg) **Abilities:** As silent as the night, yet with the force of a tiger, Akira uses stealth and flow in her martial arts. Her strikes are swift and thoughtless, gained from years of mindless training, and her body moves like water, flowing easily in circles as it draws her enemy closer to their demise. Akira is a non-bender, and as such must rely simply on her body to stay alive. She has mastered the use of the jōhyō, or rope dart, a weapon that relies on good eyes and precise hits. Akira has studied how benders move, and implements some of their styles into her own fights. The waterbender's fluid, defensive-offense helps to keep Akira ready for counters, the earthbender's rigid strength and tight stances help keep Akira grounded, the airbender's flexibility and light feet help Akira dodge and overwhelm, and finally the firebender's willpower and powerful strikes allow her to take down her enemy. Her eyes are her main weapon, allowing her to analyze and remember a fight style, as well as point out distinct weaknesses that an enemy might possess. Thanks to Master Shu, Akira is also a bit knowledgeable on using other weapons, like swords, knives, and bo staffs. Training under the Jiyū gave her time to practice her aim as well, allowing her to be able to use smaller, more accurate guns with only slight trouble. Other than her martial arts, Akira is a well-off mechanic/vehicle expert. Raised by a pair of geniuses, Akira experienced first hand the wonders of technology after the accident that took off her leg. Inspired by the bionics, she became very interested in computers and machines, and focused most of her mental power on building or repairing broken tech. She became interested in learning how to drive and pilot many vehicles during her teen years, and with some help from the local mechanic she was able to practice her driving. She spent a few more years learning how to drive and repair technology under the supervision of the Slums Mechanic, and due to those she is almost always looking for scrap metal to use in her repairs. In times of dire need, Akira relies of the force of her bionic leg, which packs a pretty hefty punch. She is also generally agile and flexible, allowing her to rush in and out of danger on a whim. Due to an intense interest in weapons, Akira has also become interested in using her jōhyō as an art form. The tip of the heavy dart is full of LED lights, and it will glow intensely during fights or street performances, allowing for some interesting swirls of colors to appear in even the darkest of streets. She is also a natural born leader, making her the ideal choice to lead the rebels into missions and battles. Her duel stun batons are normally held on her back by a sling, and her personalized jhoyo almost always coiled at her side like a whip. She also sports a pistol, holstered on her right leg, and spare ammo. Other than that, Akira carries a small tablet, a hand-made computer jammer, and anything else she'll need in a brown rucksack. **Personality:** With an ever intense aura and an almost always emotionless face, Akira is not an easily approachable person. She enjoys her alone time, and while loneliness does plague her from time to time she never lets it show. A workaholic, she is normally stuck in her apartment room, keeping tabs on the underground problems of the nations, as well as planning new schemes to better help the freedom fighter's efforts. Cynical and cold, her glares are rumored to stop hearts, and her tongue is sharper than most blades. Akira is unafraid to insult and berate anyone who annoys her, and while she'll never raise a finger against an ally most are afraid that she'll turn to beatings if angered too much. Other than annoyance, nothing really appears on Akira's face in terms of emotion. She is normally poker-faced, never really seeing the need to show off how she feels physically, and due to this she has become rather distant. Smiles are a rarity, tears are even rarer. Akira is almost always happy when she's working or training. Being able to move her body or head is a sure fire way to put her in a good move, and in the silence of a garage, her room, or a dojo she is peaceful and cheery (term used lightly). In crowds, though she rarely shows it, Akira is very uncomfortable, and even when she is just speaking to one or two strangers she can stammer and shake with anxiety. However anxious she is around you, though, Akira is naturally attracted to good people, and feels a heavy need to defend those in need of defending. She is especially protective of her close friends, and would even put her life on the line to save them if needed. She enjoys it when other depend on her, though she herself is heavily independent. The only person Akira feels she can truly depend on and trust is Lee, her missing brother. In fact, he is one of the main reasons she joined the freedom fighters. Due to her upbringing, Akira is extremely street smart. She knows her way around the slums of Republic City, and is well known around the area as "Red". Once the leader of the junior motorcycle gang "Red Riders", she could be considered a retired gang leader, and thanks to the gang's heavy influence on the terrain she is feared by most street-sleepers and gang heads. On the streets she is almost an entirely different person. From quietly annoyed to openly assertive, she's not afraid to throw a few evil looks or threaten a few skinheads to get what she needs from them. Her independence was bore from her street life, and while she has had many masters in the past they all seemed to help her from afar. Akira disliked getting help from anyone, and even to this day that remains. In a fight she is near emotionless, and her eyes are intense and focused. Akira relies on her speed and flexibility, as well as her quick gaze. In terms of mercy, she never really knows how to hold back, and must be told to stop if she looses herself in a fight. Akira always attempts to appear emotionless around the enemy, knowing that even a slight facial expression can change the way one thinks. Other than that, Akira enjoys meditating, though has trouble concentrating when with other people. She only really trusts Tai-Mei, but she will do anything her higher ups command of her. She has a soft spot for kids and animals, and absolutely loves yoga. **Brief Bio: **WIP
_"Akira, I have to go, okay? I'll be back some day. I'll write, so please..." "Lee! Lee! Don't leave me, I'm begging you! I don't want to be alone!" The world grew black, and papers replaced the shadowed boy, letters that incited anger and excitement in her heart. Letters of his missions with the freedom fighters, and how much he missed her. And then they stopped, suddenly. That day, instead of a letter appearing at her apartment step, a woman did instead. "I'm sor-ry... Lee... Vanished... Gone... Gone... Gone"_ **Republic City 9:00 AM Green Heights Apartments ** The complex stood silent in the middle of a bustling slum. Fog covered the streets, hiding the smog-covered sky in a sheet of white. It was a cold morning, and people rushed around quickly, hoping to loiter in warm shops and restaurants for the time being as the daily alley check went on. The police weren't very friendly in this part of town, and it was almost apart of the poor's routine to run away from their sleeping place before the clocks read nine. Inside Green Heights, no one stirred. Most of the Jiyu workers were already down in the basement, and the rest were either preparing for their normal jobs or sleeping in. A near-empty apartment stood within the plant-covered complex, quiet as can be, yet glowing like a star through the foggy-morning air. From the half-covered windows, papers could be seen. Large stacks of whites and grays and yellows, covered in a scrawling, messy handwriting that would be impossible to read to most. Cups were the next prominent thing, empty coffee holders that had yet to be thrown out of washed. Finally, between the stacks of papers and Styrofoam, a head could be seen, face down on the desk. Black hair, rough from lack of brushing, curled viciously across the wooden surface and hid Akira's face from the light of the desk-lamp that gleamed on throughout the hours. She had fallen asleep a mere two hours ago, just after she had finished compiling the information needed, and with everything figured out she definitely deserved a good nights sleep. But now wasn't the time for sleep, it seemed, as her wrist suddenly buzzed to life. She woke with a start, nearly knocking over a pile of papers as her knee slammed into the bottom of the desk and her hand quickly spread out to gather the mass. Akira's head rose slowly, hair covering half her face as her sleep-filled eyes drifted across the desk slowly, finally landing on the watch on her left wrist. Words echoed from within it slowly, a wake up call from Tai-Mei, and then her pocket vibrated as well. She flicked open her phone, eyebrows lowering as she was reminded of the fact that she would be working with a new team for the mission she was supposed to have completed by now, and with a small smirk she snapped it closed and stood, stretching until her back let out a satisfying crack. "There goes my day of rest... Better get ready." A soft sigh escaped her lips, and with the laziness of a cat she drifted towards an open door, slipping inside silently. With the flick of a light, a small bathroom appeared, tiled and dirty from years of abandonment and recent use, and Akira wandered quickly into the square room, stripping and prepping the shower. She, of course, couldn't help but sneer at the dirt-covered floor, but with her current money situation, she couldn't get anything better. In newer homes and buildings, most rooms would be based around holograms. They could appear to be anything the user would like, from a fancy dinning room, to a grand bathroom room. Holograms were the new "in" thing. _And I'm too poor to afford an actual apartment, let alone a hologram._ Steam clung to the mirror as the shower-head spat hot water down into the tub, and Akira ran her fingers through her hair slowly, washing the slickness away as her eyes glared daggers at her feet. To tell the truth, her heart was pounding furiously over the thought of working with a bunch of new agents. She was never one to connect with others, and yet Tai-Mei always says that she believes leading to be Akira's best aspect. Another sigh came from her parted lips, and she turned her eyes upward, allowing the hot water to run over her face. Her mind finally started to blank with ease as her sore muscles and aching head subsided with the spitting water, and as peace finally claimed her for the time being she stopped the water and stepped out, drying quickly with a nearby towel. Water dripped onto the tiled floor, sliding carefully through the cracks and then vanishing as Akira threw her towel down and exited the room. The rest of at apartment was basically bare of furniture, save for the desk covered in papers, a closet for clothing, and a messy futon that had been left in a frazzled state. She really had no need for anything else, since all she really did do was work and sleep. There was a kitchen downstairs to use and a gym full of equipment to train with, so why get anything else, right? Akira dressed quickly and brushed her hair until it was sleek and dry before finally setting out, exiting her bottom-floor room into a narrow hall. The hall light flickered dimly across the sepia-toned walls and floor, and whispers from nearby rooms filled the air. Whispers of what they should do for the day, or what jobs they would be put on. Perhaps some of those whispers belonged to her new teammates? A third sigh appeared, and with one last look at her wrist she started towards the lobby. The dimness of the hall soon melted into the white light of the morning, and Akira glanced sideways at the fog just outside the window before making a b-line for elevator. Once inside, she pressed her watch to the button that read "BA". There was a moment of silence, then a ding as the descent began, and she glanced at her hands quietly, face formed into a stone mask. The elevator let out another ding, and the door slid open carefully, revealing a stark difference from the lobby above. In this basement room, computers (though, older than most would have now a days) lined tables, and a large meeting area was arranged in the center. Many people were already hard at work at many of the computers, speaking carefully into headsets and taping away at keys. Akira knew this part of the complex like the back of her hand; to her left was a brightly lit hall that lead to a dojo/training area and meditation room, and to her right a break room and Tai-Mei's apartment. It was a small set up, yet a helpful one, and with only a slight smile Akira stepped down into the center of the room, seating herself at the head of the table. Some workers lifted their heads and nodded as she passed, others simply ignored her presence, acting as if they didn't realize she had arrived. That was fine though, Akira realized she didn't exactly have the best reputation or appearance, so others would easily be able to hate her or ignore her. _Hopefully none of my team is like that... Shit, stop worrying..._ She rose her wrist to her lips, and murmured a quick, "Send them down," before sitting back, letting out her fourth and final sigh. It was going to be long day.
