Lily of the Valley

Welcome, this is a Harvest Moon-based game, revolving around the Valley mentioned above and the people living in it. It is a massive sandbox type roleplay and is currently closed for new applications.

A land tucked against a mountain range and the coast, Lily of the Valley is a gorgeous place, filled with resources, adventures, and friends.

A:
Lily Town, a bustling village made of cobblestone, wood, and brick. Among the many homes is a clinic, a (to be decided by shop owner) store, an inn, a bar, and many other lovely places to visit. The town is built around a stone center, which is called the Town Square. Festivals and contests are held here, and the town hall is accessible from the stairs that start at the far edge of the Square. To the east is a bridge which leads across the river and to the west is the docks. The town seems to have an obsession with lilies, and many portraits and planters are filled with this particular flower.

Shops:
Town Hall
Lily Town Medical Center
Isis' Flower Shop
Daisy Cafe
Azalea Bar
Lily-Way Grocers

Residents:
Mayor William
Rebecca Jensen
John Mona
Sarris Mona
Philip Mona
Robert Starr
Marie Starr
Everett Micheals
Alex Garnet
Gaku Yamamoto
Eli Stern
Isis Thorne
Izzie McKenzie
Rosemary Bates
Alice Rems

B:
Bluebell Beach and dock, an area constantly warmed by the sun and cooled by the sea breeze. Boats used to linger on the docks and travel to the island that was just out of view of the shore, but the island has since been deemed haunted and tourist attraction plummeted. There is, however, a fishing shop owned by a very kind fisherman who would gladly take anyone out into the sea with his small boat. Other then that, the beach is a nice place to relax and explore, and you may be able to catch glimpse of some sea life if you linger long enough.

Shops:
Bluebell Fishery and Boat Service

Residents:
Robbi Yung
Nisa Yung

C:
The Lighthouse. A rather large, hilly area sweeps up into the air, and on top sits a quaint little lighthouse. It sits tall on the highest hill and looks other the ocean. The Mayor maintains the lighthouse's pristine condition as well as he can.

Residents:

D:
Flora Falls. The waterfall is clean and clear, coming from high up the mountain, and many children love playing in the steam and lake created by the cool water. Behind the main falls is a shallow cave where a hot spring sits, and many of the locals enjoy coming after a long days work to let off some steam. Normally, the water is very cold and best to visit during the scolding days of summer.

Residents:
Brent Roless
E:
Mount Edelweiss. The largest mountain in the range that surrounds the rest of the Valley. A trail leads up to the summit, with a few forks in the road leading to a natural spring, a blacksmith's shop, a digging site, and a mine. The spring isn't well known by most, and it is mostly a haven for animals to drink after long days. Near the base of the mountain is the blacksmith's shop, which is run by the Blacksmith and their Apprentice. They create tools and household objects that may be sold in the town's store (if the two characters are on good terms). They gain their materials from the mine, which is a few steps away from their base of operations, and the pine forest that lies just behind them. The mine goes deep into the mountain and is filled with glittering ores and rocks which sell for a lot in town. Further after that is the summit, which just gives a glorious view of the Valley and is the only place to receive blue feathers. There is also a strange shrine, tucked into a ledge on the mountaintop, most don't know it's purpose.

Shops:
Blacksmiths

Residents:
Lisa Silber

F:
Glowing Fern Forest. A beautiful woods area, filled with wild life and vegetation. A certain type of fungus coats many of the trees in the summer-fall months, and at night these trees will glow a lovely white. Flowers will also grow this fungus as well, lighting the forest in an oddly spooky way. If one would wander blindly through these woods, they might happen upon a large clearing. The grass here is short and speckled with thousands of flowers, and at the the center of this clearing is a wide, glowing pond. Rumors tell that this is where the Harvest Goddess resides, and if one would to throw a gift into the waters she will appear and give you advice or another gift in return.

Residents:
Harvest Goddess

G:
Rosette River. A large river that starts from high in the mountain and travels down, cutting through the landscape with clean, blue water and, at times, white-water rapids. There are many spots where the river recedes and children love to play in these shallow spots, but are warned to stay away from the quicker streams. This river is the one that spills into the ocean.

Residents:

H:
Peony Plains. A large field that is the perfect place to go stargazing. There is plenty of space and currently (2-3) farms occupy some of the land. The soil is rich here and good for crops while the long, golden grass is perfect for animals to graze on. If one walks south they may end up looking over a steep cliff, which leads further down into a small, swampy area.

Shops:
Sunflower Stables
Henry's Farm

Residents:
Sally Root
Kyle Root
Henry Manteel

I:
Witch Island. A once glorious, tourist filled island attraction, Witch Island has long since become deserted and 'haunted' as the locals say. Many have used it for Tests of Courage (if they have the ability to get there), and the island's large, tropical forest and quiet beaches give off an eerie feeling just perfect for said game. A Witch is said to live deep within the forest, in a hut, practicing her spells. If someone were to discover her hiding place, they would mostly likely be met with a curse. At least, that's what everyone else says, but no one truly knows for sure.

Shops:
Sunset Hotel (Abandoned)

Residents:
Witch

Lore:
The Harvest Goddess:
A divine being, often regarded as a deity to the people of the Valley, this Goddess protects and guards the land from harm.
Harvest Sprites:
Small, helpful spirits that work under the Harvest Goddess.
Witch:
A magical recluse who lives alone on the island. Rumors have spread about her existence and she is known as haughty, wicked, and scary. Is that true? Well, no one really knows...
Blue Feathers:
An old tradition of the Valley is giving a blue feather to the person you wish to merry. The feather is only available at the summit of Mt. Edelweiss, and is extremely rare. Only those truly in love will find the gift easily, as the stories are told.

Bartender? Okie doke. I'll reserve on of them for you. Now, we wait for one more person to become interested, and then I can make the OOC. Also, someone in the casual thread has told be about a dress-up site that would be good for Harvest Moon type characters. Here is the site, check it out and let me know if you're all interested in using it. (:

(And of course we'll have you, Queen. No one is left out.)
It's fine, I love the dress up site idea for the characters, I will however have to see if everyone else would be interested in it. It's still a wonderful idea, though. (:

It would be a good idea to start thinking about roles (: Ill wait for two or more people to gain interest before making an OOC, and then we hope that more people will flock over for that. I will be editing the valley's description severely soon, so there's something to look forward too uwu
    OOC

Hello! I've been itching to participate/make a Harvest Moon-esqe type of roleplay, sooo here it is. It'll be a large Sandbox type game, with special events and story-lines sprinkled throughout. I'd like high casual, low advanced skills, so two paragraphs per post would be reasonable. Anything bigger then that is greatly accepted as well!

    Harvest Moon:
Harvest Moon is a game series centered around farming. It's a Simulator of sorts, a Slice of Life game about working hard, befriending (and marrying) townsfolk, and just living day to day with something to do. Very calming and very fun, this is what this RP is based on.

    Witch:
A magical recluse who lives in a hut deep within the mountain's forest. Rumored to be mean-spirited and wicked, but has been known to help those in need if possible.

WIP (this is taking longer then expected)

    Name: Mary Himura

    Age: 24

Appearance (pictures or description, or both): Mary is a short and healthily stout woman, her arms and legs well muscled and her face fairly pretty. A child of an American mother and Asian father, her heritage shows clearly from the foods she cooks to the clothes she wears. Faintly colored skin, a scar of her nose, and dark eyes dominate her face, which is normally formed into a stoic look. Mary's hair is long and dark, reaching her mid-back in a cascade of deep browns and reds, and it is normally tied back in a loose ponytail to keep it out of her face. Her eyes are a deep brown and her face is small and round, cheeks a faint pink at all times. On the bridge of her nose is a long scar, faded and semi-healed with time, and apparently it was gained during a 'lab accident' when she was younger. Dressed normally in a variety of dresses when not working, however when she does have a case, Mary dawns darker, much more resourceful outfits.

Personality: Quiet, thoughtful, and ruthless. Doesn't speak unless spoken too and seems painfully polite at first glance, but inside she is a mess of witty comments and dark humor. When she has a job she is known to never give up or quit until it's complete, having a mind set of 'if money is involved I'll do it'. A real neutral party, politics and justice are forgotten, replaced by thoughts of self-gain. While she is rather greedy, Mary does actually have a bit of sympathy for those lower then her and is not oblivious to the hardships of others.

On a job she is quick and quiet.
