Charles gave a silent prayer as he realized he wasn't going to be able to hold the creatures off for much longer the way he was. Go on Sophia, I'll handle these. He said telepathically. Slowing down slightly and just keeping pace with the swimming creatures, and whipped his staff downward. As he did, a curved blade slid out and settled into position, leaving him with his Naginata in his hands. "I'm sorry," He said, feeling bad about using lethal force on these creatures, who seemed to be getting more like innocent victims by the moment. "I wish it hadn't come to this." He changed his style, now aiming to slice them with the blade instead of shoving them back into the water. His swings were faster now that he wasn't holding back, but he felt that it might not be enough.
Am I right in feeling that we're coming up on the end, At least for Piper?
