This is an interesting concept. I imagine that only wealthy people would be able to afford renting androids to perform jobs for them, so that would put a limit on their availability to the general public. There would also probably be different classes of androids, like the high-end ones are the human-looking doppelgängers while cheaper, lower-class androids would be more machine-like (and not necessarily humanoid depending on their specific tasks). Programmers and mechanics would be in high demand to build and program these incredibly advanced machines, and robotics would probably be a required field of study in public schools.

I'm interested but I'd like see some of the finer details worked out first.
