Bump.
If I may offer a point: it seems like Frozen didn't hit its target audience anyway. Honest, none of us would think it overrated if it was a kid's favorite movie, but it's the fact that teenagers and adults seemed to have liked it more. That's probably why we find it so annoying, were colleagues and friends sing "Do You Want To Build a Snowman" out of the blue or even worse, if you have a Tumblr account and are swarmed with Frozen symbolism.

Now, I'm not necessarily saying it's bad, but it was already mentioned somewhere in this topic that "people need to stop digging so deep into Disney movies" and I entirely agree. I still feel like the overall message should be obvious, in a cute or silly way to entertain kids. Frozen did not hit its target audience as much as it was intended to and that's why we feel it was overrated.

Agreed with Yog Sothoth, Disney can do better. I still think of Oliver and Company and Tangled as two of the best Disney movies of best time - that's just matter of opinion though!
For those of you who are familiar with me, consider this the spiritual successor of "Retribution". For those of you who AREN'T familiar with me, my name is Cynder and I'm an old Guild member who used to be a regular here in the Free section. While here, I made a Roleplay in the Free section with a few expectations and a bit more of a complex storyline, but still a Free Roleplay nonetheless. This is basically that Roleplay: "Retribution", but with a few changes, mainly in the title, I added a new word, "Raindancer". This Roleplay is actually based on a concept-design for a story I'm working on with the name, "Raindancer: The Last Summoner". What exactly is this Roleplay? Well, let's get into explaining it then.

Background Story

The story of Raindancer takes place during an unknown time on an unknown planet, one that is most likely presumed to be Earth. Most of life has died out, but not for the reasons you'd expect such as pandemic or war. But actually something entirely different: snow. After the snow began to fall, it never stopped. Temperatures reached all time lows and plants slowly began dying, even in the most tropical of areas. People began to panic, there was little food left, most contact in the world was cut off and just when it seemed like they were likely to descend into madness, it only got worse.

A disease began to scratch through the unstable minds of the survivors, picking at them, one by one. It began to turn them into schizophrenic monsters, nicknamed the "Static Disease" by locals, due to the fact that the first symptom of the disease introduced is hearing static. The Static Disease, on top of starvation and the cold, began to drop a high body count and for a while, most believed that it was the end for them . . . for humanity.

All hope was lost. Well, that was until the remains of authority began to gather survivors up and store them underground in "compounds".

.. Or at least that is how the story goes.

In reality, you're not too sure. There isn't much to go on but the stories of older folks and some rare books you might find lying around. Maybe it doesn't interest you, maybe it does. It doesn't really matter. All that does matter . . is that your story is about to clash with the lives of others -- and create a screeching heap of a mess for a beginning.

Your Story

Elements

There will be a lot of elements utilized in this Roleplay On the surface, it's your average survival and free-roam Roleplay, but similar to Retribution, it does have an actual storyline. As for the elements introduced, they follow:

  • Explore an open, post apocalypse-world covered in snow and filled with danger foes.

  • Use exotic and strange technology like the Polar Scouting Gear and hyper convoluted weapons for flight and fight purposes in the world.

  • Pick one of three choices -- make a group of survivors, go lone wolf or try to hunt down others, the options are as high as the sky.

  • Use your powers to help save the day or abuse them to cause your enemies pain. The choice lies within you.

  • An actual storyline (wow, I know, trust me, I know these are rare in these types of Roleplays).

  • Find yourself face-to-face with Zooids (infected humans) and fight them. . or capture them and poke at them, the choice is yours.

Alright, I'll admit, as most, this topic is decent, but hey, what do you guys think? Anyone interested? Leave your comments, questions and suggestions in the replies below.
Corvo watched the demonstration from the doorway, convinced that nobody could see him. In reality, it was probably due to his slight and quiet presence, that nobody had quite noticed him yet. He watched the man who made the gesture with the rifle, tilting his head in curiosity.

He feels...familiar.

Come to think of it. A lot of the people in this room also have a similar feeling... different.

He looked around the room from the doorway, still training his thoughts. The man had the right statistics for all that happened during World War I, but Corvo wasn't entirely sure if the man understood how terrible the death rate truly was. He winced. The World Wars were definitely a memory of agony, right up there with the entire country of Russia. Fun times.
Great. We can create a group on there or something. And you're what...Mountain time? Or is that central?

Curse my horrible Geographical skills!
You should try getting some sleep then. Sorry for keeping you up.
I'm EST, it's about 11:27 PM here.
Yeah, I have an app from my iPOD. Shame, Darcy lost interest in us.
I just got a fresh new one the other day. Darcy? Zar? We can exchange through PMs.
That could work...we can always use Chatzy or something. Or, uh. Do any of you happen to have a Skype?
