Finally got around to responding. I couldn't think of anything, so I just figured Mary would try to figure it out. Sam's just gonna zone out and do whatever, I suppose trip over his own feet while trying to walk later.
With it being mid-morning, the fairly small stretch between the Hays Family Ranch and the nearest town was a living nightmare. With the sun already beating with its intense rays, Sam already began to feel the sunburn that they would both have by the end of the day. Luckily for him, he often rode in the wagon itself, as Mary preferred to be the one riding the horse at the front. It wasn't exactly professional, but she didn't care. It wasn't like anyone in the Hays family could separate her from the white horse that had long since become her companion. Sam was almost positive that she would just take off the reigns one of these days and rode off into the sunset. Sometimes, he wished she would. "People in this town don't seem to ever stop talkin'," Mary began and Sam peered out of the dark, dusty corners of the wagon. He let out a cough from some kicked up sand before continuing, "Yeah.." Business was booming as usual and it wasn't surprise, considering it was the nearest town for ranches, farms, miners and priests for miles around. It was also the only place that a young'un could find socialization for themselves. Though, that was more Mary's field and she was very proud of it. "Looks like they're gossipin' again." "Well, Mary, it ain't none of your business anyway." He had a point, but at the same time, he knew that wouldn't stop his older sister. Especially since Mary was often the talk of the town, mostly in a negative fashion. In the frontier, everyone had to work together to survive -- Mary didn't seem to enjoy playing by these rules. So, Sam was almost thrown from the wagon when stopped abruptly in front of one of the nearby shops and hopped off to hitch her horse. "Now you stay here, darlin'," she pat the horse on the head who already buried its nose into the water basin below. She looked up to her brother who was climbing out of the wagon, "..And you can do whatever," she said non-nonchalantly while approaching a nearby couple and joining in on their conversation, "Howdy. Got any fine gossip for the mornin'?" Meanwhile, Sam stepped out of the wagon, landing in the sand below. There were other wagons unloading, likely to prepare to sell. He and Mary were expected to sell, but their crops weren't growing well due to recent drought in their area. Some of their cattle and chickens had gotten sick due to lack of water and proper food as well. It was becoming harder and harder to pay for the property. Which, leaving Sam as the man of the family, begged the question: how would they handle being in drought and in debt? He didn't know.
Alright. Gonna respond now. Just wondering, is there anything in specific you had in mind that the people in the town are gossiping about?
Ok c: I like them!
Really? Any suggestions on anything I can change, ya think?
There we go. Put my characters up. A bit cliche and I'll probably edit them in a bit. Will post shortly.

Full Name
Samuel L. Hays

Nickname(s)
Sam by just about everyone.

Gender
Male

Personality
Not very talkative, Sam was an especially shy child when growing up. Though he has long since grown out of the shyness, all that reminds is a sense of never ending introversion that causes him to stray away from conversation and likely zone out. There is no doubt that Sam is a dreamer and a very passionate one at that. He's a compassionate type of person and has mercy even for the wicked, which is seen as both weak and admirable -- Sam rather likes this aspect of his personality, however. As of late, however, Sam has been rather distant and detached from those around him. .

Biography
The youngest of the Hays children, Sam had the tendency to live in his older sister's shadow while growing up. Though he never seemed to mind much and truly, he didn't. It was clear that his family had always meant the world to him, though this fact seems to have changed over time as he has grown increasingly distant from them. Maybe it had to do with the fact that his sister was disowned from the family or the death of his father after a recent mining accident.

Or perhaps it was something else. Not that it mattered now -- all that did was seeing the family ranch survive, even if the family itself didn't.

Full Name
Mary C. Hays

Nickname(s)
None aside from a few "colorful" names from around town.

Gender
Female

Personality
An outgoing, confident and bubbly girl. She tends to be the talk of the whole town, often in a negative way due to her foul mouth, tendency to drink excessively and inappropriate way of dressing. Headstrong and stubborn, she desires to see the world in a different perspective, mainly through travel. Rough and a bit cruel, she is often teased about never finding a man who can handle her in order to marry -- but she never seems to mind anyway.

Biography
The eldest child of the Hays family, it was easy to tell that Mary would be a rebel from the start. Of course, if family relations weren't strained enough, it became even worse when she was disowned by her aggressive father at the age of twenty-two. Though the reasons for this exact happening are still unclear, it could be linked to many things: her refusal to learn any skills on the ranch or inside of the house, her blatant disrespectful for her parents and her "eccentric" fashion sense. Determined to survive on her own, Mary saw this more as a challenge than a mistake. Dreaming of traveling wide and far, she set off on horseback into the night.

As fate would have it, this escapade didn't last long. After her father was killed in a mining accident out of state, she caved in and returned home to assist her grieving mother and younger brother, who were left to take care of the ranch. Now, the only riding she does is around town to get groceries or stop by the saloon after a hard day's of work out in the fields tending to the crops.
Seems pretty basic and clear to me. Not very lazy at all! Just means that there's room for development as the story goes on.
I'm working on my characters now, should be done in a little bit. Thanks for being patient, haha. I'm starting out with two characters if that's alright.
@Cynder Just so I don't forget, I want to reserve Erika Furudo.
Reserved for you.
How about tensions are brewing, but nothing has really come of it until recently? Where something drastic has occurred?
