It's throat moved as it speaker, and it became apparent that it's speech wasn't caused by the process of passing air through the vocal cords (Which was just as well, given the lack of space) but through the manual manipulation of the vocal cords. "And we are hungry, so very hungry..."
The ship seemed to respond to these words, as the gas's leaked out, obscuring the creature slightly as it passed the two. The creature pushed off the drone and back towards the ship, one of the tentacles moving to grab him from the void "We are us, and we are hungry"
The words seemed to echo from the vessel its self, and the biomass on it seemed to lurch to life, the tentacles twitching in space

Yes, in fact our military seems a little opposite as well if you think about it. The Custodes excel in ship to ship combat while the L'Er seem more geared towards land battles with how they use the parasites.

True enough, the land is much more important to the L'Er, as they generally have the advantage in person to person battles. Especially true considering their extremophilic nature making them difficult to destroy with tactics one might be inclined to use against such a parasite. I think even in space combat the L'Er might lean a lot more towards boarding enemy ships in order to take advantage of their abilities

This considered, I wonder if the Custodes might finally be forced to consider their world destroying cannon
