Okay. No to FTL nerf, imo. I don't believe we really need to make any changes, unless people do literally start appearing out of no where on the surface of worlds. Precision FTL jumps (such as jumping in a formation or jumping 'close' to an enemy ships) could be acceptable depending on technology, but mostly I feel that jumps to arrive in systems are fine, and jumps to retreat are fine

Further, the political divisions you mention results in a sort of cold war. I think this is acceptable as its a logical outcome global or in this case galactic society, splitting into alliances. And alliances are rarely balanced, that's why they constantly try to outdo each other, IE the West and East. If you see a divide forming and realise your side is weak, its best to try and get more people to shore it up
The seemingly perpetual high alert of fleets is odd, though some nations could legitimately have that.

Lets not start the Equestrian debate again, really, by now its obvious that it's just a waste of everyone's breath because nothing happens
Speaking on magic, as long as we're not going back towards the blowing up suns, fleets and destroying entire species types of magic, racial traits are fine. However, if its declared that strong ability in it is "rare" then it should actually be rare to have powerful magic users.
I wouldn't say duck lacks creativity as much as he simply doesn't like leaving his comfort zone. If we're honest, void of the stars and star empires were pretty much the same RP. The EU shares the same core of the Equestrian Empire, but base values are not always indicative of society being the same as another with similar values, though the current EU is somewhat more plausible than its predecessors.
And here we go again

I shall write and post my full thoughts on this after my class is finished.

I own Australia, and have been accepted.

Well, I wager that by 2023 Mugabe will have kicked the bucket, hence Zimbabwe being in the throes of social chaos/political violence by the time of the RP. I have no problem with British involvement there, though I think it'd make more sense (and be a bit more fun for both parties) if it was a joint SSIC-British project, with the SSIC having informally deployed its paramilitary 'Ranger Corps' into the country despite actual military involvement still being a question the Congress has yet to answer.I'd definitely like to further hash out the UK's current relationship with Africa, especially given the implications of a more active Commonwealth, to whom many Sub-Saharan states such as Nigeria and South Africa (perhaps the two biggest players in the SSIC) probably still owe their voluntary allegiance. That'd probably be a conversation we should pursue in PM though, because I don't really want to clog up the OOC.

True enough, though recently (irl) his wife expressed interest in taking control in the event of his death, so yeah, its probably in political and social turmoil
And yes, it would make more sense if you are interested in such

And indeed, it is something we should talk about, given the relations of the remaining commonwealth members with each other and the New UK, and considering the likely massive shift in global political considerations with the dissolution of the US and the rise of the Asian Federation (which I would assume is the worlds largest economy and has the largest population).

Why does Britishland have a population as large as the United States, I didn't know immigration from Eastern Europe and the Middle East was that bad. Also why does it own AU lands, did you guys discuss that.

I figured having been neutral for most of the war (and with the collapse of free nation states left right and center) the UK would be a prime immigrant and refugee destination.
I also originally had more land, but had to snip it because other people started to take it, and I never bothered to change the pop number. Meh.

Darkwolf, if you could elaborate on what you have in mind for Zimbabwe I'd greatly appreciate it. They're still a SSIC member state (at least as far as SSIC is concerned), despite their current government not being recognized as legitimate due to the way it came into power. It'd be awfully touchy for a European power to intervene directly in Africa.EDIT: I answered my own question through the wondrous powers of reading comprehension just after making the post. The one about Zimbabwe still stands.

It was an aftermath of WW3 thing, they deposed Mugabe and freed the country, though aren't doing what they did last time (Africa basically ended up in the state it is now because you can't just turn around and give people who have been servants for years full fledged democracy and hope it's going to work. What should have been done in Africa during decolonisation was a transition period between Colonial rule and democratic rule.
The Commonwealth suspended it in 2002 and membership was voluntarily terminated in 2003, all over the problematic human rights record. The aftermath of WW3 was when the UK it's self finally stepped in, only to have their government deposed in the British Isles (Karma, ain't it a bitch?)
Basically, it's yours, the UK has just sworn to defend Zimbabwe from becoming a dictatorship again or from being invaded. That's why it's got a different status than everything else (Protectorate rather than territory. It's an independent country under the protection of the Federated Kingdom). I plan to hold a referenda early on in Zimbabwe concerning continued membership in SSIC, and then request that SSIC end its suspension and Zimbabwe will effectively be back into SSIC control, which will be considered the end of the transitional period from dictatorship to integrated nation within the SSIC.

I will, never the less, remove it if you wish. I thought that it had been suspended meant that it was open for being messed with
