"Repairing means repairing. If a tool is imperfect, you repair it, if a person is imperfect, you repair them. Repairing something is mutually exclusive to destroying it" The Argutus said to the Griffon, then tilted his head "Cruelty here is irrelevant, though torture can be brutal and harsh... Torture is ineffective as a means of acquiring information, any way, we find it more effective to just take what we require from the minds of our enemies... But how do you define torture? As for Civilians, this would render any form of planet or city destroying weaponry illegal by law. But what of when their planet has been taken? Keeping them in line may require violence, and after taking a planet would the civilians not fall under the rule of the conqueror, and thus be able to be treated in anyway the conqueror pleased to treat their citizens? Also, avoiding damage to civilian property is near impossible in war, especially when soldiers take it upon themselves to take cover in structures, or when weaponry is constructed to run along the walls of certain, otherwise peaceful structures. Civilians also tend to have a rather annoying habit of taking up arms against invaders. I agree on the thought of purposefully using Chemical or biological weaponry on civilians being illegal, however." The Argutus paused and turned the humans "What do you mean by religious tolerance? The thou..." The Argutus paused, and looked out into the distance, as if regarding some far off sound, his eyes glowing slightly, then he turned back to the others and asked his question again "What do you mean by religious tolerance?"

"I only agree to a point. Genocide of any Sentient being should be illegal. Slavery should be illegal unless used as a punishment for a crime, which can only be levied by an appropriate legal institution." The Triarian said, as he dropped backwards as if to sit in a chair, but his eyes began to glow orange and he hovered off the floor, as if sitting on an invisible surface "On the subject of genocide, I would move to ensure Eugenics would be kept separate from Genocide and be legal as long as no killing is involved. I would also move to ensure that repairing imperfect ((disabled)) individuals would be treated separately from genocide and be completely legal"

The Argutus member, after no short amount of delay (As it seemed he disagreed of him being stripped of his Gauntlet, though eventually gave in and handed it over) arrived in the meeting room, just in time to hear the last part of the Equestrians and the Makudan speaking. While it seemed they had just averted a war, they were still at each others throats
"Rivers change course over many lifetimes, and eventually all bridges tumble down." He said "Your people are the waters, and your Empires are the Bridges. Everyone changes, and every empire falls into ruin and ashes. If we make endless wars, cycle after cycle, then song could be cut short very soon... When the music stops, we all fall down. And yet here you are, even after averting the war, you are at each others throats. I wonder, now long will this peace last?" He turned to the Makudan "How long until you do something else to give the Equestrians an excuse to raise the knife? Do you have the restraint to last more than a cycle?" He turned his eyes back to the Equiis ambassador "How long until you jump at the chance to launch another war? You always make us wonder, is war in your blood?" He glanced to Fergus and Emily "And the Hero's of the hour. The wise humans who brought the war to a close before it even began. The wise humans who know more than they are credited for. If they had not... we would have had to step in."
The Argutus took a few more steps forwards, glaring at the Makudan and the Equiis in turn "Yes, as you say, continuing to discuss such things. First, let it be known I care not what you own, nor what your powers are. I care not how large your military is nor how strong your weapons are. If you believe yourselves large and powerful, then you shall start acting like it. If you believe you have such powers, then it is your responsibility to use the powers properly." He turned his head and his gaze softened, this time he spoke to everyone present, but his voice was dark "I do not think I make any overestimation, when I say every power represented in this room has the capability to destroy any target nation they please that are known in the universe. Each of us holds great power, and with that power comes responsibilities we cannot shirk from. With that in account, and to avert any further wars, the Collective proposes a universal law that all nations must abide to, or face judgement. This way, what can and cannot be done will be laid out clear for all. Since you all believe yourselves powerful, then I suggest you join with us and ensure these laws are followed. Should you agree, then the first matter would be deciding what those laws would be."
Making war with people is something the Equestrians do a lot, it doesn't really strengthen their position. They're a bit hypocritical, though since they seem to be working on some form of alien just war principle, they aren't totally hypocritical
I disagree, some empires might be composed of species that are united under a common purpose (Equestrians) and I especially disagree in the case of the Triarian Collective (After all, if somewhere did actually try to split off, they could dump a Psionic Amplifier on it and mind control them instead).
AIF message

"Draconians are anti-kyn, parem habui. They must all stand for trial for their crimes, their crimes that consumed a universe in war, in a fiery chasm of a thousand suns. Believe me when I say, if my species was religious, then a thousand hells would await them. The Draconian should stand for judgement for the crimes of his kind"

A Triarian diplomatic vessel appears above the planet and requests permission to deploy their diplomats as the Argutus prepare for their task
Humanity in this rp has already split three times over, so Wilson is kind of right there. Need we mention two massive common sense wars?

Regardless, I am just going to say "Massive sprawling empire" and then you know the collective is a massive sprawling empire and we needn't get into numbers
"Still no explanation from the humans."
"It has been 1/8 of a cycle, I refuse to believe their system is so inadequate they could not have responded"
"And no response on our request"
"That is barely consequential. Regardless, we deserve the explanation behind them harbouring an Anti-Kyn"
"Affirmed. Advise. Withdraw and prepare the fleets. Get spectre to take over our Synth Infiltrators in AIF space."
"Affirmed, truth can not evade us"

Lance Empire contact

There is the noise of someone preparing to speak, then being interrupted by someone, whispered voices, the sound of someone saying "Affirmative, ending contact" can be heard, and then the ships turned slightly, and then in the blink of an eye there is a flash, and then they are gone

Quarantine around Hach space has been broken as the Triarian ships turn and jump away. All military deployments return to Collective space, except those in the far galaxies that are working on expansion
Uh... you know one of Hitlers 'something else' was the same reason as your seeders (Hitler called it Lebensraum, which means 'living space'), so you aren't really right about them being any worse, they are just doing what Hitler did so.
And to be fair, I would say that killing someone for their land is less evil than killing them because they are of a different race, seeing as how dozens upon dozens of our wars have been to kick people out and take their land. Genocide because you think a race of your own species doesn't deserve to live is infinitely worse
What the seeders are doing is exactly what Hitler did. They are killing off a race (or rather, species in this case) to make room for their own race (species in this case), and when you think about, both think the others are less important (Clearly the seeders feel superior and more important as they are displacing them to make way for themselves)
Its hard to say they are worse than Hitler because we don't really understand what went on inside his head and probably never will. Or, you know, its possible he was completely sane and it is just the nature of neb to butcher each other . Really, the only way you can say someone is worse than Hitler would be to go on facts and figures along, and that isn't too useful. I suppose you could do it by comparing him with another evil dictator such as Stalin, but again we don't entirely know what was going on (then you can make the argument that Stalin was Hitlers fault because Stalin became obsessed with the idea that the Nazis would invade the USSR. Then you can argue Stalin thought he would be the lesser of two evils because Hitler also hated the Russian people and might try to kill them all like he wrote in Mein Kampf, and Stalin wanted to protect his people and thought the only way to do so would be through tough love... Very, very tough love.)
"Sir, we have detected signals worthy of report emanating from a sector. I report unidentified species making contact with the humans. I am detecting minor psionics readings, factoring in distance, it would suggest there is something of psionic power comparatively high when contrasted with the norm of other species, and around moderate by our own."
"Deploy a group, request an argutus"
"I obey."

A group consisting of 1 Evocatus, two princeps and two hastati have been deployed to the unknown contact. Upon arrival they begin by simply observing, not seeming to be doing anything but sitting there.
