Danny smiled slightly at the face Arsenal made during his spouting off of proverbial wisdom, though he was careful not to Roy see The young man possessed far better control than might have initially been assumed given that he resisted the obvious impulse to mock the expression. Far better control than Danny had when he first arrived in K'un-L'un as a boy, though Arsenal was much older than he had been then. Perhaps there was more purpose to such odd sayings than merely the enlightening and teasing he had assumed was their purpose.

Iron Fist listened patiently while Roy expressed his concerns about not being able to teach the New Titans very much, about how he wasn't really the one for that job and Iron Fist had the wrong person in mind for the task.

"Even so, maybe they'll surprise you, or you'll learn something unexpected about yourself. I was once told that in teaching, one learns more than one ever did as a student. As my own teachers were fond of putting it "The student is a mirror reflection of the teacher, and to one who looks upon it rightly a mirror's reflection keeps no secrets'" Danny grinned again, this time letting Roy see. "They mostly used to say that as a way to tell me that they'd caught me lying or making mischief and I'm still not entirely sure what it means, but it seems appropriate here too."

Suddenly, something occurred to Danny. Specifically the mischief had caused him to remember that at least one New Titan was skipping out on training today, and if there was any truth to all of this mirror's reflection business, he had a pretty good idea where to find them.

"Mind taking over full supervision for the exercise for a minute, Roy? I have a wayward student to look after. I'll be back to continue this conversation very shortly."

Iron Fist walked out of the observation deck and the training arena as a whole and into the elevator while waiting patiently for it to arrive at the Rec room's floor. Tempted as he was to try and just climb the elevator shaft for a workout, there had to be a certain amount of seriousness about him nowadays. Once he got out there seemed to be some kind of big mess in the lobby as if a fight had broken out there, but he would focus on that at a later time. If it was a threat then it seemed to have passed for now and if it was something else, well, he needed the right frame of mind to do what he was about to do and trying to focus on something else might wreck that.

So, keeping his mind serene and gentle for however this turned out he knocked on the door to the Rec Room.

"Amy? I know you're in there. Can I talk to you please?"

I wound up leaving for a while after the last Roy post before I got a chance to respond to it. I was going to respond to it but then we started in on this thing about Talon and I lost track. Will get on that.

the outright easiest thing to do for the RP as a whole would probably be just to have him escape and leave, chalk the whole thing up to early-on weirdness I guess, since it would necessitate no change and wrap things up, at least. then you could either outright scrap the character, re-purpose him as a villain or try and have him figure out a better way to join the Titans.

It necessitates no changes, wraps up the scene for people it might be giving issues to, and gives you time to plan what to do next.

edit: Rin was able to sneak in like a ninja and make my point before I could.

Hence my issues with it. and that brings up a good question, if we want to move through that area now, what do we do?

August beamed at John with his best possible smile as he handed him the water and some of the raisins. He popped all of the dried grapes in his mouth at once and munched on them, all of his apparently mentioned dislike for raisins forgotten along with his promise to share with the birds in the face of actual food to eat. The water managed to last much longer than the raisins did. In fact the boy seemed to savor the taste of it slowly instead of gulping it all like someone in his situation might be expected to do. He grinned at it and then at John after a minute.

"First water in days that hasn't tasted like the jungle! I could almost hug you if it wouldn't get jungle grime all over you and the scent of not-jungle-y human all over me. The mosquitoes and snakes and boars and stuff don't seem to like it very much y'know. Not to mention...the monkeys." The boy shivered for a second when he mentioned monkeys, the first time he'd shown any sort of fear since he approached John. He seemed to get over it quickly enough once he remembered what John said about the hotel. His eyes lit up like fireworks at that.

"I...guess it wouldn't be cheating to go there and eat now that someone's found me! You seem nice enough too, Mr.John, I mean Mr.Shirkwood, or um...Mr.John Shirkwood! I'm pretty sure my jacket still has some money in it, or that I can probably get some if you can take me to the hotel!"

August trailed after John, still occasionally sipping from the bottle of water as he limped after him, seeming even cheerier and more out on a leisurely stroll than he had beforehand. Had he realized he was not at all playing the proper part of a child being heroically rescued from a traumatic situation, he would have doubtlessly been much more upset with himself.

You should probably PM the GM as Titansgame too even if you PM us, since whatever you come up with would have to be approved that way anyways.

Yeah, I realize some of the things I said were probably harsh, but I meant them purely as an attempt to help the RP run more smoothly for everyone. Maybe you can come up with an idea that can be executed better.

Sorry, didn't say all that to hurt your feelings, more just because I felt like there were a lot of problems that weren't being addressed that could make the RP hard for some people to play, or for that matter hard for you to play if things kept getting complicated. Do you mind if I ask where you were planning on him being a while from now and maybe see if I can help you make that work?

You could always have him just escape and try and work something out from there, since otherwise there might be a lot of posts to retcon.
