I would be fine with that!
Faust took the offered hand and shook it gently, taking in the person she was meeting.

"It's nice to meet you Static. You can call me Faust."

With this exhange she then turned her attention to the third party in the conversation. The one who had found them-self with a knee imprint on their face.

"urmmmm I'm a warrior class I think, we're going to visit the Black King, did you get her message aswell?"

Warrior, you think? Faust pondered this then a small smile formed on her face. A newbie, most likely.

"Yes, I think pretty much everyone received it." The healer remarked in response to the message in question. She hadn't given it much thought. The ebony strykers seemed a little too mysterious. She wasn't going to immediately trust in them, and honestly joining a guild that would soon be getting a massive influx of members would just make her feel more lost. Though these were judgments passed without any trustable knowledge. Maybe a visit would be good?

"A visit sounds interesting." She concluded with a thin smile. She could feel her want for action rising, and it was highly unlikely they could avoid it with this objective. After noticing herself lost in thought she blinked hard to shake it off. Good job, playing it cool, real smooth. "uh, how are we getting there by the by?"

A walk could be a good chance to get to know each-other, as well as maybe meet some rabble on the way. Though speed was always more convenient, and who knew how many people had already beaten them to the black king?

I like Verdant Grin. He's a bugger.
Sorry, I've been entirely scarce around here haven't I?
Mathew

Mathew took the watchers role as people continued to come and speak. He watched and listened as they did, trying to take in faces and words, and not to mention personalities. He didn't want to speak in on anything here, as he was well, the new guy. He looked to the tent that the orc had seemed to take special note of. It must have been the quartermasters tent. He would have to take note of that for certain.

His role as a watching eye was broken when yet another introduced themselves. A quick and proper handshake from the man and he began to speak. Stopping himself partway through, it seemed pretty obvious this man was the leader, or at least usually. The orc, Vlor had given off the same impression, and perhaps this time that is how it was? It would make sense. Mathew just sort of shifted on his feet and fixed his strap on his shoulder yet again.

He was unsure exactly of what their immediate action was to be.

Depends on the equipment. Light Leather armor for example isn't really going to increase your physical defense much, where has Heavy Full Plate will, but at the expanse of lowering your agility. Weapons themselves have level limits, do only a certain average amount of damage, and don't really add to your stats so much as scale off of them. A dagger for example would only do a measly 1d4 (That is to say, you could do anywhere between 1 to 4 damage a hit, out of the usual 100 that most players have) but their DPS scales with agility, meaning that having a higher then average agility would allow you to string together more dagger attacks. 4d4 can do a bit more damage then a 2d8, at the minimum. And that's not even including unique boss weapons which may indeed increase your stats or give you access to special attacks.

It scales off your agility.

interesting.

Alright thank you!
I'm actually working a system on that. But basically everyone depending on your class has a baseline stats divided into six categories: Health, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Magical Attack, Magical Defense, and Agility. Depending on your class depends on how the stat spread is, but for the most part all, say, Warriors have the same baseline stats. However the Feats and Abilities granted by your characters alters and edits these stats accordingly. I'm still hammering out those details amongst other details, but I'm going to have Windel present it once it's all done.

The reason a level 1 could stand toe-to-toe to a level 9 is because unless most of their abilities have been made to increase stats instead of granting them more attack options, statistically they're identical. While a level 9 will have much more in their arsenal, a level 1 warrior and a level 9 warrior are nearly identical statistically, aside from Feat Buffs. And even then that's where simple combat skill comes into play.

Ohh okay.

How much can equipment effect this?

Sorry if i'm being a bother, I am just curious.
I have a question?

How do our stats work? If as said in the OP a level one character actually has a decent chance against a level 9 one, does that mean they don't really raise much by level?

Do they raise by class and items mostly or by whatever actions are repeated? (similar to skyrim, where shooting a bow adds to leveling up the bow stat)

EDIT: Preemptively apologizing if this has already been answered lol
