CORUSCANT
[CHARACTER SHEETS ONLY]

[OOC: Welcome! If you have business to conduct on Coruscant please feel free to post here. It does not have to compliment ongoing posts from other SWPW players. Please only post your characters here if they are operating in the Coruscant area.]

CORUSCANT

Coruscant is a planet located in the Core Worlds. Located at the intersection of numerous major hyperlanes, including the Perlemian Trade Route, the Corellian Run, the Metellos Trade Route, the Koros Trunk Line, and the Leisure Corridor, its hyperspace coordinates are (0,0,0) which effectively makes it the center of the galaxy. These coordinates also inspired the planet's military designation, "triple zero" or "Zero Zero Zero," though the actual galactic center is located in the Deep Core. As the de jure center of the galaxy, however, Coruscant is generally agreed to be the most important planet throughout most of galactic history, as well as being one of the wealthiest due to its advantageous location.

[OOC: Welcome! If you have business to conduct on Coruscant please feel free to post here. It does not have to compliment ongoing posts from other SWPW players. There is a roleplay Discord channel to encourage collaborative works if you wish to join.

Kade Ritgars Penthouse
Kade Ritgar

"I don't know, it seems a bit... Cheesy..." Kade said quietly as he sat back on his couch, the entire wall opposite him lit up as one giant holoscreen. The holo was paused on an image of him striding toward a Liberator-class starfigher with a blaster in hand, no helmet, and a pair of dead "baddies" near the starcrafts boarding ladder.

"Cheesy?" It was more of an accusation than a question and it came from Kades Producer, a harassed looking Kel Dor named Nocia Ga.

"Yea, I mean come on, all that is missing now is for me to find some damsel in distress conveniently waiting for me in the cockpit and a kiss as we blast off into orbit. The holo is better than that. I would say re-cut it."

"The preview needs to be ready for launch in three days!" Nocias voice was almost a shriek. He was exhausted. This particular holo had been made difficult by skirmishes with pirates in one of the filming locations and they had been delayed by a month when one of the stunt-beings had been killed during the incident.

"Yes, I know. But I am sure you can make it work, you always do." Kade made a calming gesture with his hands. "Just maybe less "laser-proof Jedi" and a tad darker. I don't have any force powers, and neither does my character."

"Fiiinnneeee..." Nocia hissed the word through his mask as he made a few notes on his datapad. "I will get to work on it at once."

"Thanks Nocia, good to see you."

The Kel Dor rolled his eyes before making his way toward the exit. The Noghri bodyguard, Ogint, quietly opened the lift door and waited, his eyes not leaving Nocia, until the doors closed behind him and the turbolift vanished downward.

"Will you be need anything Mr. Ritgar?" Ogint asked, his voice had a guttural growl to it that had taken Kade some time to get used to.

"No, thank you, Ogint. Please lock down the lift and grab some sleep."

The Noghri bowed without another word and punched a code into the lift, locking it to anyone but Kade and his household staff before ghosting out of the room. Kade had to admit he found it slightly disturbing how quietly the grey skin being moved so quietly. It had saved his life on more than one occasion, but that didn't make it any less unsettling.

He made his way into this bedroom, lights around the frame of the huge bed coming gently to life so that he could navigate without being blinded. Beyond his floor to ceiling windows he could see the city of Coruscant spread out in every direction. It glowed with light like some great living organism, the beating heart of the Republic.

Kade was thankful his building was on the far side of the planet from the Jedi Temple. A terrible amount of damage had been done to the city in that area and he would have been forced to send a considerable sum to replace his property.

He kicked off his shoes and dropped his clothes in a heap on the floor before climbing into bed. A small whirring sound and a quick "schwoop" told him that the cleaning droid had already taken the discarded garments. He would pick something new out of his closet tomorrow before flying to Scarif. He wanted a break from the Capital.
Palace of Khulbe the Hutt
Khulbe Desilijic

Khulbe grumbled in pleasure at the flattery, Jast had always had a way with words that he found very pleasing, even if he knew it was only to try and curry favour with him. He spared a moment to track Nima with his huge eyes as she joined the other dancing girls. He was equally pleased with her that she had chosen such a wonderful outfit on such short notice. She would have to be commended. He waited until she had sat before turning his attention back to the humans standing in front of him.

The small case carried by the female, Telsa, if the Hutt recalled correctly, was opened and Jast pulled out a small pink rock, holding it up for the Hutt to see. Khulbe knew immediately what it was. There were very few illicit substances in the galaxy that had not crossed the Hutts path in three hundred years. Tethylenedioxytethylaphene, Pink Kyber, was something he had only dabbled in a couple of times before but the unique production facility it required was currently beyond his means. Simply put, he did not know how to synthesize the drug. Perhaps Jast had an answer to that problem.

"Jast, my friend," The heavy rumble was cut through by D440s' immediate translation. "You always surprise me. First an unexpected passenger and now this. A day for firsts indeed."

The Hutt waved a heavy hand and a droid moved forward from the corner of the room. It was a tall medical droid, almost humanlike in appearance with a cone shaped head and a single black optical sensor that blinked a continuous rainbow of colour. It extended a small claw to take the crystal from Jasts hand before moving away to a doorway behind the Hutt. The door opened soundlessly and the droid disappeared.

"I will have that sample analyzed while we talk. Have your associate make herself comfortable in an alcove. You can join me up here." The Hutt gestured to the single chair that shared the dais. Telsa was politely directed to an alcove by Jos'rizud where she was joined by an attractive human female who smiled disarmingly and asked how the flight had been.

When the Jast had settled himself across from Khulbe and a small pot of Shots Fired brandy had been placed in front of him, the Hutt folded his hands across his substantial belly and eyed the human thoughtfully. He had never been one for small talk or idle banter and he quickly cut to the point. The two Wookies moved within arms reach of Jast as the interview began, should he attempt to attack their employer.

"How much of this do you have? And what do you want for it?" Already Khulbe was considering possibilities and how they might work with his current operation. He suspected Jast would not have brought such an expensive and highly illegal cargo to Nar Shaddaa unless he had no other choice. Cutting Khulbe in on any profit, or trying to sell it, would be a desperate act. Or perhaps the courier needed a middle-being, it was unlikely the human had many contacts of his own who could move such a shipment. Part of Khulbe relished the opportunity to negotiate and to strike a deal. An idea had already begun forming in the back of his mind.

Jos'rizud

There was a long moment of silence as Jos'rizud quickly ran the scenario through in his head. Jast had said the girl was his prisoner and she was clearly no threat as she on the ground, a vicious material oozing from her body. He had never seen a Zelosian but he was familiar with their need for sunlight and this girl looked starved for it. Once he was sure his employer was unlikely to blame him if the girl fell out of the ship and went right back on it, he lowered his rifle.

"Of course, Jast. Can never be to careful." The rest of the security team followed his example and the tension eased at once. Jos offered Jast a toothy smile. "Welcome back to Nar Shaddaa."

He gestured toward the hanger bay door where a plain looking human female waited next to several locked bins. As they approached she held out her hands silently, there was no need to remind Jast and his team what was required. Their weapons were secured in one of the bins and the key was handed to Jast. A small handheld scanner was then used to go over each of the couriers crew to ensure no hidden weapons remained before the heavy blast door slid into the wall and a long hallway beckoned them onward.

Khulbe Desilijic

Khulbe waved the floating holo-monitor away as the blast doors opened. He had watched the interaction in the hanger bay with interest. He did not approve or disapprove of Jos'rizuds' decision to let leave the girl with the Raven Trespass. The Twi'lek had done his job as he was paid to do and that was good enough for the Hutt. There would be a question or two for Jast of course, but he doubted there any advantage in it for him to really press the matter.

He looked around the throne room, eyeing the guards who stood nearby. Not for him the usual cadre of mindless thugs who lazed about while their boss conducted business. He could not see the Defel, but he knew Sounmil was nearby to keep an eye on the arrivals. A pair of Wookies flanked his considerable bulk. They were a strange addition to the Hutts entourage but he had asked no questions of them when they approached him looking for employment.

The throne room slid open with barely a whisper and his guests stepped into the cavernous space.

Palace of Khulbe the Hutt
Jos'rizud

Jos'rizud watched on a monitor as the Raven Trespass came into sight over the upper level of the landing pad. The big Twi'lek was well familiar with Jast, having met the courier on his last several visits to Khulbe. The two males weren't exactly friends but they respected each other enough to have shared a brew or two in the palace saloon during Jasts' last visit. Even so, working for Khulbe meant staying on your toes at all times. At least the two battle droids at his back would serve as a surprise to the courier, they were new since his last visit.

His eyes wandered for a moment over the slim figure of Nima in front of him. He had wanted her since he first laid on eyes on her. His gaze lingered on her perfect curves before trailing down over to her firm ass. Perfect. If he was given the chance to bed her, he would, but to do that he would need to impress Khulbe. Nima was the Hutts favourite and he controlled access to her tighter than a Sith to his lightsaber. Still... It might almost be worth the death that would surely follow.

He dragged his eyes upward toward the heavy landing pad that shook as the freighter landed on it, the big disc beginning to lower at once into the confines of the hanger bay. The design had been prohibitively expensive but it allowed Khulbes men complete control of a visiting ship. A tractor beam and several laser cannons had been built into the design and were manned whenever a ship arrived. Small anti-personnel laser cannons were slotted into the walls at floor level to support the guards already present with Jos'rizud.

As the lift settled into place the landing struts gave a sigh and the high pitched whine of the engine died away to nothing. There was a long pause, he could see the laser cannons tracking along the side of the freighter, and then the main ramp began to descend. Jast came first, flanked by the hulking male he did not know and the female, Telsa. He had to admit he had a bit of thing for her too, something about a female who could fly. He eyed the big male carefully and bared his teeth slightly when the man looked at him. They exchanged nods recognizing each other as dangerous beings and the silent dick measuring contest was over.

"Guard!" His attention was suddenly drawn to Nima who was pointing at a figure that had dropped out of the belly of the Raven Trespass. He didn't hesitate as he swept his weapon upward to aim it between Jasts green eyes. The two battle droids quickly followed suit to cover off Jasts associates, the fourth guard, a slim human female with short cropped redhair was a second behind them as she moved right swiftly with her blaster rifle levelled at the prostrate figure.

"One of yours?" Jos'rizud asked Jast over the barrel of his rifle. It seemed unlikely, and not at all like Jasts reputation, to make such an incredible blunder, but Jos'rizud was taking no chances.
Jurgen was dead before Brandt could complete the sled. It had been a painful way to go, but mercifully quick. His throat had swollen, his heels drumming on the forest floor as he slowly turned blue until he stopped breathing altogether and slumped to the forest floor. There was a strange silence as the horrible gaging sound he had been making finally faded away to nothing.

"Is he dead?" Priska asked as she shifted nervously from foot to foot several feet behind Roderick. His initial reaction was to snap at her but a kinder part of him stopped the retort, it was clear that the girl was well outside her area of comfort.

"Yes." A simple answer. He always marvelled at how everyone, wealthy, poor, powerful, weak, regardless of their social status, looked the same in death.

"We can't stay here." Brandt had returned with the beginnings of a sled, all of which he now dropped in a noisy pile next to Roderick.

The priest stood, stretching his back as he did so. This was not good. Neither he or Brandt were warriors, nor was Maria for that matter. So far Jurgen had brought them this far, it would be a great bit of luck that to see them past this point. He shifted his foot and felt his toe strike metal. He looked down and realized he had been kneeling on the dead mans greatsword. A good sign his luck was good since he'd managed to do it without cutting himself. He reached down and took the heavy blade by the hilt, lifting it from the grass. It was still stained black with goblin blood. He didn't hesitate as he turned and offered the heavy weapon to Brandt.

The smiths exhausted eyebrows rose as he regarded the weapon for a moment before taking the blade from Rodericks hand. The priest smiled and let the leather wrapped handle go as Brandt hefted the weapon.

"Better you than me, I think." Roderick said as he reached down to pick up his hammer. He caught sight of Lord Waldo watching them closely but the younger man didn't say anything. He had a haunted look in his eyes now and Roderick suspected that the young lord, as much as he and Brandt, had never seen so much death in their lifetime. It seemed some handled it better than others.

"We should go." Maria spoke for the first time since they had learned Jurgen was poisoned. She had recovered a small goblin short sword that she'd tucked into her belt. She had abandoned her crossbow after not being able to recover any useful ammunition.

"What about him?" Priska asked quietly, staring at the dead man on the ground.

"We will have to leave him." Roderick replied, regret in his tone. "But we don't have time to bury him, or the tools for that matter."

"Oh, okay." Priska was trying to pretend indifference but Roderick detected something more. Was it possibly she had liked this man? It wasn't strange he supposed. Life could be brutal and short for humans of the empire. Jurgen was a prime example. She turned away before he could say anything to her.

"We should head east." Maria again. "The main road is somewhere over there and we need to move quickly. Night is coming."

Roderick nodded and glanced to Brandt who was still admiring his new sword. "Shall we?"
