@Dionysian Puff i mean there's a library on campus most likely but that's it. Basically, the campus library is open to town people and your character can work weekends and after school
Also one more thing to those working on characters. Remember this is an American school system and we are focusing on the third years/junior class. That means your characters should be 16 or 17. Any higher or lower would need to be justified in your back story, but we'd prefer not many special exceptions.

That being said, Universorum put a lot of time into story building. I give credit where credit is due. There was one point in time where Remy had natural sunflower blonde hair and same colored eyebrows to match. He'd like to believe he gets the majority of his genes, mannerisms, and looks from his late mother. Blonde, gentle facial features, thin fingers, more often than not cold feet, and a constant spark in his brown orbs. As time went on and he became an expressive tween, he decided to have fun and darken his roots, his ends, and his eyebrows. His blonde still holds true, he just gave it some flair because why not? There was a time he even did blue tips. It was cool while it lasted. That was in like sixth grade? His father would give him hell about his every-so-often appearance changes (especially in middle school) saying he should focus on getting in shape rather than caring about what he looked like. Luckily, he had his mom to back him up. She would always be a ferocious mama bear in his memory. Nowadays, he aspires to be like her. You don't need to have muscle to be someone's strength. Physical strength just helps in.. fights and lifting. God, lifting sucked.
Remy has a dainty physique and looks like he should be as short as his future step mother (the school nurse) and step sister. He is short in the male height scale, but not THAT short. Standing at 5'8", taller than his best friends, Desi and Jareth, and weighing around 134 pounds, the young Delaney kid would like to think he is an average small town boy, with nothing special about him. He has a large assortment of beanie hats, but is fond of his black one because it goes well with most if not all his shirts. In his nightstand, there are multiple colored bandannas that he occasionally ties around his head (when he isn't wearing a beanie) or, which this is the more likely action, ties it around his arm or wrist.
You'd think the hat and the bandanna would be token items always seen on this emo looking kid, right? They are, usually, but it's his black choker around his neck that sticks out like strobe lights. If he isn't wearing that choker, something HAS to be wrong. The choker was in one of his mother's chests in the attic. No one would expect that she was the designated goth of her year at Westworth High, especially with how simple she dressed as an adult. After he found it when he was six, she gave it to him and he's worn it ever since. It's something he's gained a strong attachment to. If he isn't wearing that necklace (which sure, he doesn't wear it when he showers and sometimes sleeps) a piece of him feels like it's missing... or he isn't his usual positive, chipper self. Losing his mother's choker would probably devastate him.
Since he's blind as a fucking bat, if he isn't wearing his black frames, he's wearing clear daily contacts. Fuck monthly contacts. That shit gets dirty easy. He likes putting dailies in and just throwing it away when he's done. He has two pairs of glasses. One he carries in his backpack (yes, in a glasses' case) just in case a contact falls out or something, and one on his night stand. The one on his night stand is an old pair he's had since... awhile. It isn't his new prescription but it's better than walking into walls. You never know when glasses break, like the time he got hit in the face with a football. He's learned his lesson. He would rather be blind in gym than wear his glasses!!
Style. In terms of modern society, he dresses like an emo? Maybe not as bad as Jar, but his attire still gives them that vibe. Tight pants, hoodies, converse, band tees, etc. But bitches need to know what emo is before they say he's an emo. The clothes he gets at Goodwill in Littleton or/and his mother's bags on bags on bags of clothes from high school are comfortable. Shuush, yes, his mother's shirts fit him. He tends to wear plain solid colored shirts, sometimes with stripes, or in other words, simple designs, with a sweater, hoodie, or plaid long sleeves shirt, and jeans. Always jeans. No reason behind his choice in attire besides he likes to wear it.
Low key, Jar left his blue and black striped sweater in Remy's room and it's never left the house since. They were studying for their 8th grade history exam and the next day it was left behind.. Now it's Remy's home sweater...and it keeps him warm.
Grows extremely attached and doesn't deal with loneliness very well.
What You See: Everyone thinks they know Mr. Delaney's son. Mr. Ray Delaney is Westworth high's PE teacher and Football coach. He's known as the macho man of Westworth and takes pleasure commuting to Littleton to go to the gym (full membership and all). Occasionally, dragging his son with him to lift some weights.
What people see is a scrawny boy that they assume is a disgrace to his manly father and the boy that was attached to his late mother's hip when she was in town. His mother was a Veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital, in Littleton, while his dad stood at the home front, here in Westworth. The on-call parent. Thanks to his shitty immune system since he was a child, he wasn't judged too harshly for not seeming productive or goal-orientated (ie. sporty like his father). People always would say how when Ray got a boy, he'd grow up to be just like him... well, they were wrong.
Remy's smile can bring light to anyone's dark day. It's in that comforting smile that shields him from people's spite. Even if he can be kind of pathetic on the field and/or in PE, he still seems to take on his days with his head held up high. Without a doubt, this kid must be a pushover and honestly, that isn't too far from the truth, since Remy personally hates when petty drama arises or just tension in general. It makes him squeamish.
If he's given the opportunity to put out a fire before it gets too out of hand, then of course he'd try, not really thinking about the consequences beforehand. Charging into a mess, disregarding his own well being, Remy will save the day or get terribly hurt trying. If he's successful, he'd call that day a success. Injuries and all. Is that a hero complex? Or does he just hate drama and seeing people not smile...
In other news, Remy tends to laze about on random patches of grass, by trees that give him shade, throughout this tiny town he calls home. Listening to his music (a lot of it suggested by Jar), he stares up at the sky, daydreaming. Nothing productive. Just relaxing. Although he isn't the most athletic kid on the streets (and anywhere in the world, really), he still keeps a positive "go-getter" attitude and joins as many clubs as he can handle (while still having a social life, and time to make money). He was even convinced to be the school mascot, Blizzard, freshman year by a senior at the time and has been the white wolf since.
Sure, he isn't amazing at everything, but that doesn't mean he won't try. Don't knock it until you try it, they say! On campus, no one really cares about how much he excels or not (though he's a B average student), all they care about is that his father is Mr. Delaney.
What I Know: Remy is a piss poor liar, so for the most part, what you see is what you get. Yes, he did lose his mom a couple of years ago, which kind of sucked, and still sucks, but it isn't something that should rule his life. She wouldn't be happy if he succumbed to depression, so by all cost, he will refrain from feeling low. A fighter, that's what he'll be. Not a literal one. You know what I mean.
Plus, if he became a ball of sadness and it showed, everyone would worry about him. It's already bad enough people have worried about him all his life due to the fact of how easily he got sick, bed ridden with ammonia or something... not so much anymore. Thank god. He doesn't need people, especially Jar, to think he can't cope with life.
He wants to be strong, he needs to.
Deep down, Remy aims to be the emotional pillar for all those he's grown strongly attached to, especially Jareth. A boy he couldn't help but be drawn to (their first meeting was great). Someone who looked (and looks) like they needed (and needs) a hug. Goddammit, Remy would be the one to give it. Desi not so much unless she deliberately comes to him. She seems like she has her life together, but that won't stop Remy from checking up on her (honestly, they're like two peas in a pod with how contagious their smiles are).
In a sense, one can say Remy carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. Always worried and wanting to be there for people whenever he can. When his loved ones are happy, he's happy. Perhaps this was his mother's compassion thriving on in him... he wouldn't know. He just goes with the wind. All he can say is people are his inspiration and mean the world to him. He would go miles for them, if only they knew.

║ Brief History ║
The Delaney and Fahey Name have been around for as long as the Diner was built and most definitely before then. Ray Delaney's parents, Oskar and Robin Delaney, are the elderly couple that seem to have a solution for nearly everything. Ripped clothes? Robin will patch that up for you in a jiffy. Your cat in a tree? Oskar would be the hero of the day and get your kitten for you in seconds. No problem. Oskar, who is now retired and spends a lot of his time either at the diner with his bud, Blake Fahey, or riding on his bike through the mountains with his other bud, Don Hopper, was the local electrician of the area. Not so much now because he's RETIRED. While Robin's home business is still kickin' where she gardens and sells her herbs to PJ's Variety for medicinal, herbal, culinary, and aromatherapy needs (with her grandchildren's assistance). Herbs are her main focus but she also has vegetable and flower gardens.
The Fahey's were (are) next door neighbors to the Delaney's. Nowadays, Ray and his children have the Delaney's old residence and Ray and his late wife's parents room together next door at the Fahey's house. Blake and Irina Fahey are the couple that wants to keep the community as close as possible. Although Blake didn't chase his dreams of becoming a top chef, he likes to host picnics and outdoor game days for the entire community with the Hoppers, his long time friends and masters in their own food craft. This is his way of reminding everyone of where they come from and who would support them through thick and thin. More often than not everyone will go because he is the best goddamn chef in the area - why the hell would you miss the opportunity to try his legendary cheesecakes?! Don't get us started with his perfectly cooked prime rib. But the job that paid his bills in the past was something similar to Oskar's job (mind you, Oskar is his best friend). He too had a handy man occupation and was the local plumber. One can say they were the bromance of the century. He too has retired and focuses his time in the kitchen, helping his best friend's wife (making her lemonade while she gardens), assisting his wife in her wheelchair, and going to the diner for some local grinds. This is his life. It's a good life, even if he wishes his daughter was still around.
Meanwhile, his fairly elegant and gentle wife, who unfortunately was paralyzed a couple of months after she gave birth to Blair at the age of 18, taught music to little kids. Sadly, not anymore, because she's just too tired to teach. She's a great conversationalist and loves when people visit her. She believes music brings the community together just as much as food does, and that it's important for early childhood development. She didn't have to leave her house to spread her love and passion for music - she still doesn't. Most, if not all parents, would bring their children to her warm and welcoming humble abode and she'd teach them how to play an instrument of their choice. If she didn't get in that accident many years ago after she brought her daughter into this world, she would have been star bound with her prodigal skills. That being said, she loves her life and doesn't regret any second of it. Losing her daughter six years ago was hard but they've all been making by, together. Robin Delaney is basically her sister - kinda like how their husbands are brothers - who's at her side whenever she needs someone. Even though they do have medicare and a paid nurse makes visits to check on all four of them every so often, all four of them are doing just fine taking care of each other. Irina is the one who doesn't go too far from the house. If anything, you can see her on the porch listening to the radio and crocheting blankets. Plus, she thinks it's nice to have at least one of them always there for the young ones to find and talk to.
It's obvious how Ray Delaney and Blair Fahey met - they were next door neighbors and their parents' were best friends with each other. It's not like they saw each other everyday. Okay, they did. They were unintentionally (or was it intentionally - the world may never know) set up for each other since the day they were conceived. Blair surprisingly gained a lot of interest in fixing things, so she was destined to follow the handy man route like her dads did for stability, but she chose to follow her love for animals and become a Veterinarian. Ray, although he was addicted to sports and exercising, gained a close bond with his mother-in-law and loved how she inspired children to do better for themselves. He aimed to become a teacher at Westworth, while incorporating his love for physical activity. They had their lives figured out before they graduated from Westworth High. Neither would stray too far from their parents. They loved life here in Westworth and didn't see the need to move to a big city and make it big. Why make it big when they had everything they needed here? A year after graduation, when they both found out that Blair was pregnant with Remy, Ray proposed to her and they got married that same year.
Their life was simple. Both got their degrees in their respectable paths they wanted to take, while their parents helped raise Remy. Before they knew it they were situated in the Delaney's house together, Ray teaching at Westworth High like he always wanted to and Blair commuting to one of the pet hospitals in Littleton. When Remy was 10, he was able to help his grandmothers assist his mother on giving a natural birth (his dad and grandpas couldn't handle it - they were close by but they all were a mess). That... was one hell of an experience. Suddenly, he was no longer the only child anymore and Bonny-Lee was brought into this world. They were one big happy family. Sure, they may have had hardships but together they could leap over any obstacles.
None of them expected almost a year later, Bonny not even reaching the age of one, that they would get a call that said that Blair was in the ER in Littleton Adventist Hospital. She was in a massive car pile up. The Faheys and Delaneys hated cars. It was a car accident that got Irina paralyzed and now...
The next year was a blur for Remy. He was in fifth grade at the time and Desi would always check up on him, but he couldn't think straight. He'd smile, like he usually did, but this was a lot for him to handle. The woman that made everything alright, his mother, his everything, was no longer in this world. He felt sick and just wanted to stay in his room and cry, but his family wouldn't let him mourn for too long. He knew he wasn't the only one sad, they all were. They all lost someone. He needed to get better, not just for them but for himself and for his mother. That year he lost a lot of weight but once his mind started getting better, so did his appetite.
Seventh grade rolled around and there was the new kid on the block. Jareth Wells. It was already half way into the school year when he transferred to Westworth High and he stood out like a sore thumb. The news about his arrival had been going around in town for weeks. By now, Remy was back to his normal, expressive, outgoing, and awkward self. This dark haired boy was definitely a looker. To say Remy was intrigued by him was an understatement.
Jareth doesn't remember this but before their defining moment, Remy actually sat next to him in class and even gave him his only pencil when Jar had asked for a writing utensil. Yeah, he didn't have his only pencil for their math test... so he found a crayon on the floor, but the new transfer had it. It was totally worth it! They even shared history books when Jar didn't have one. It made Remy feel kiddish inside that he was helping the new kid out before he even knew his name. And then he walked in on... the fight. Alarms went off inside the kindhearted boy. He heard and saw enough to get the idea of how the fight started. Nervously, but with full reckless abandon, he entered the danger zone and placed his hand on Jareth's shoulder. His heart dropped in seconds. There was so much rage and anger within this mysterious teen.
If only Remy knew more.
When he went home that same day, he told his grandma Irina about what had happened and she suggested for her grandson to befriend him. To give the boy a chance. He needs a friend more than anyone - being new is never easy to deal with, especially if it's not something you're use to. And so, when Jareth was back from his suspension... Remy did exactly that. He made a new friend. His mother would be proud of him and it turns out that Jareth is really... great. At least to him. Everyone deserves a chance and Remy is glad he let Jareth in. He can't help but grin because they're best friends and he doesn't ever want to lose him.
It won't happen. He won't let it.
In the past three years, his dad has had a blossoming relationship with the school nurse. The PE teacher and the school nurse are scheduled to get married in the Spring and currently, two new additions to the family are moving in. His future step mother and step sister... the family just got even bigger.
