Yeh and guys on the left consistently incite violent attacks. It's erroneous to think that the right is more dangerous and deserves more attention when the left tells people to attack right wingers. Unite the Right did whatever they could in order to keep they're rally peaceful and orderly, yet there were counter-protesters waiting to accost them at every turn. The left created this atmosphere of political violence, so they have to take responsibility for it.
I ain't gonna feel much sadness for the woman who was ran over until there stops being such a huge campaign to normalize political violence. Every normie was all on the "punch a nazi" train and people just turn a blind eye to the beating/pepper spray/attacks when they're committed by left wing entities. The demonetization and outright hatred for people with an unpopular political viewpoint only furthers radicalization on both sides of the argument. What's more is how law enforcement just lets these kinds of things happen and barely intervene even when it is clear there will be altercations (that's why you got two dead cops).

It's like you have the entire school bullying this one group of kids and you're surprised when they start taking notes from Harris and Klebold.

I'm happy for this thread to continue as a discussion rather than an argument, which it is threatening to turn into. Once again, I cannot comment on the events that happened because I wasn't there at the time.

However what I will say that intentionally insulting a member of the staff, especially if you're unfamiliar with them is not a great idea. Yes staff make mistakes just like any other user, but that is not an invitation to go open season on them.

To me, mistakes were made on every side and finding a path forward is gonna take some compromises from everyone.

Nah, I feel as though this type of sentiment is erroneous because of how it presupposes that both sides are equally at fault in every way and everyone is equally to blame. I think that the staff should be held to a higher standard. When they make mistakes, they should own them IMMEDIATELY. They are meant to be placed on a pedestal. They are meant to be exemplars. It is very different when a random user slips up and acts like a meanie and when a staff member acts like a meanie. With great power comes great responsibility (I learned that one off a fortune cookie), which is to say that it is much more damning and much more shocking when a pillar of the community acts out in such a way.

What mistakes were made on a regular user's side? What sort of concessions will regular forum users have to make in order to have some positive change occur in how this site functions? Will me or anyone else critical of the administration have to take a vow of silence never to speak ill of the mods if you guys fix your stuff? Will people have to apologize for being in Valhalla, or else you won't change anything? It doesn't make sense. OK some people did some stuff that some other people didn't like, but does that discredit their argument? No. Does that change anything about the truth of the matter? No.

It doesn't make sense to try and act as though "everyone's made mistakes so lets just be nice and hold hands and sing kumbaya". Sorry if this seems harsh but it's frustrating seeing this kind of argument made that tries to create some sort of non-existent parity between two conflicting viewpoints. President Trump got crucified for saying something like this (even though I think he was correct), so how is it any different in this context?
<Snipped quote by Nytem4re>
This is pretty much the definition of false equivalence. I sent screenshots of a “private community” that was effectively conspiring to get Ruby removed from her place as moderator because of past transgressions and personal squabbles. Which by the way, I sent these images to the Site Administrator that a dangerous precedent was beginning to unfold that I personally found problematic despite being friendly acquaintances with the core group at the time. I never aired these images “publicly” and told Mahz specifically that I quote:

“It seems there is a particularly vocal sub-sect of the unofficial discord server that are confused, angry, and disappointed. I’m not sure how to report things in this manner since I don’t want to waste your time – I’m sure Cynder is expressing her concerns. With that said, I wish you the best in this situation. I’m currently watching the situation unfold. I’ve sent several picture evidence that I have forwarded to you.”

It is only comparable if you take things at face value alone. But I do appreciate you trying to sow more dissent, Nyt.

I think trying to make blanket statements regarding people who are legitimately frustrated and labeling them all as a threat to the stability of the guild sets a dangerous precedent. I think trying to obfuscate the truth and make up excuses for a person's actions sets a dangerous precedent. I think that sending images and indirectly alluding that something must be done to stifle a portion of your own community sets a dangerous precedent. I think that focusing on the diction and rhetorical design of an argument rather than its context sets a dangerous precedent.

I think deceit and secrecy sets a dangerous precedent.
Anyway. It's time for my Didgey night-night time. Remember to send me those PMs and wait for my reply before you go off posting IC. I might be asleep for a bit but I also might wake up at 6:00 a.m. EST to check my notifications.
@Didgeridont The most suitable thing I could come up with is she's filed under the Public Relations Department. (The faces that show up at fancy parties and press conferences as representatives of Biotechnica's interests.) Perhaps a media related position where she would be assumed to work behind the scenes, perhaps on public forums, online conferences, and is assumed to help with any negative backlash associated with whatever disasters we (the characters) get up to—A sort of Damage Control.

"PR: Information Control" sounds like a nice, fancy, and completely fabricated, yet believable, titled.

I feel like this would be a believable reason for her to knowledgable about the rather.. sensitive operations we're (the characters) likely to be a part of and give her a believable reason to attend any face-to-face mission briefings.

Alright just PM me what she's up to on a Saturday night at 8 P.M.
Shit, I almost forgot my original intention for posting.

@Didgeridont

What I meant, about the cover story, is that in Chiue's Backstory she's asked Biotechnica not to reveal the link between her and Kid Kandi. Now, if that's acceptable (I assume with all of the influx of information, that particular tidbit just got lost, no worries) that means she'll need a proper cover story.

Hmmmmmmmmm

That's really up for you to decide. I'll let you have the freedom to control your guy's predicament. It's your character, just keep it within reason. I guess I would suggest to keep it local, maybe bank on her foreign aspect, by hiding her in some diaspora. IDK

Dude this music is the bomb. Where did you get this stuff?

Can't let you know. That would ruin the magic.
BTW if you're accepted paste your characters in the Characters tab.
Nah wait

I'll tell u what to do
did the IC. PM me what i asked before posting. i let you start posting.
