Brief history: As a young child growing up in the...less 'kind' part of Gotham, as far as kindness could go within the dark city, Jason was a bit of a trouble child. His father was a thug, although the family didn't know exactly who he worked for, and his mother was a hard working wife, working as a struggling nurse in the Gotham City Hospital. Jason's hero had always been Batman, despite how he often got into trouble at school, be it for rough-housing with other kids, getting into fights, or generally causing mischief whenever he wasn't supposed to. Having no father figure in life, he always thought that acting bad would make Batman appear, so that he could finally meet the man that was his hero. He owned all of the Batman merchandise, and despite coming off as rough on the outside, he used to always run around his room in his batman mask and cape, until his mother called him out for being too loud. Other-wise, he was a healthy young boy - he played sports, did his work, and lived as good a life as he could, despite being in a bad neighbourhood.
However, at the age of eleven, he received news. Rather, the entire world received news - all bad. Batman...he had died. It was like hearing that your favorite actor had died, and his legacy would be loss forever. Jason was heartbroken, and began getting into more trouble at school, seeing no reason not to since Batman would never be there to stop him. It got more serious as he got into his pre-teen years, and fights became more rampant, his criminal acts becoming more seirous. Bust windows at the school, steal stuff from the stores, vandalize cars. His mother couldn't stop it, and as the stress of practically being a single mother became greater, she had to quit her job - which, of course, didn't please her thuggish husband. Life seemed to be spiralling out of control. And then, the big man in the sky had to slam the nail in the coffin.
At the age of 15, his dad was lynched for hiding away money during some bank rob
beries, and the kingpin of his gang visited their home, to see what he could do to reimburse himself. Jason hadn't been home at that time, hanging out with his own street gang, but when he received a phone call of his mom crying, telling him not to come home, he ran the Hell home. What he saw, was a few big guys laughing as they counted some money, a man in a worn down suit walking out of his home - and, of course, his home, on fire. Jason ran into the house, heat searing his skin, screaming for his mom, and ignoring the thugs that laughed at the kid. He found her, bullet holes in her chest, dead in the living room. He could barely remember the firefighters coming and calming down the fire, or the ambulance taking him away to look at his burns. He did, however, remember seeing them covering his mom's body up in a white sheet, and putting her into a seperate vehicle.
After that, he was at a bit of a loss. He didn't have any other family that he knew of, and he sure as Hell wasn't going to the authorities, to be tossed into some orphanage like a reject. Heartbroken, but resolute and angry, Jason ran away from his neighbourhood - away from the questioning cops, the concerned medics, everything. Yeah, it was true that he didn't know what to do, but he knew what he WANTED to do. He wanted those god damned thugs dead, and he wanted his mom alive. Course, she wasn't coming back, but he could at least fulfill one of his wishes, even if he died. At that point, he didn't even care about the rebellious trouble he had been in. Criminals was going to pay. They were going to see justice. Batman wasn't even in his thoughts at that point.
For the next few years, he had managed to find an empty, run-down apartment to call his own. He didn't have the money to buy guns or shiny new equipment, but a few months after his mom's death, his school had shut down due to the danger of their area. He snuck in and stole some sporting equipment from there, breaking it down and using it in his vengeance against crime. Surprisingly, taking out the first of his enemies worked. In some football gear and a football helmet, and wielding a golf club, he had followed a shady looking man holding a young woman by the arm, into an alley. As soon as her screaming started, the golf club went swinging, and the man was beaten down. Jason took a glance at the scared woman and ran back to his apartment. But it had worked. As days, weeks, and months went by, he began improving the crude, but efficient equipment he already had, and began working more on his already good scrapping abilities. Gotham may not have wanted more vigilantes, but he was going to do something about this shit, no matter what.
Personality: Jason comes off as a tough, take no shit type of guy, with an obvious chip on his shoulder, and a past that he doesn't much care to talk about. Looking to do things his own way, and on his on time, and on his own rules, Jason is obviously a bit of a rebellious individual, and not exactly a team player. With a razor-sharp wit, a dark sense of vigilante justice, and an endlessly brave, determined, rather vulgar, and focused attitude, he plans on being the guy that cleans the streets of Gotham.
Flaws: Jason tends to go into things without really planning it down to a T, relying on his quick-thinking and reflexes to get him through it. He was never really a strategic type of guy.
He's not afraid of many things, and this is both a bane, and a curse. For one, he can stare a bunch of guns in the barrel and flip them off...but bam bam bam, bullets pierce his skull. However, at the same time, he can jump into a room filled with armed mercenaries, and go in swinging brutally, which helps a lot in urban situations.
Similarly, as he is still young and learning, he isn't really one for technique. Highly skilled men and women can easily subdue him once they learn of his pattern, which forces him to become more reliant on other things during the fight.
Abilities and skills: As a late teenager that has exercised and played sports since a young age, and whom's physical training has gotten more serious over the last couple of years, Jason is a strong and fast young man, with a lot of stamina, grit, and the ability to take a lot of damage and keep on going strong. While not a genius, he is incredibly streetsmart, and academically smart to a point, having around a B average when trying on tests. He knows a lot of street skills, such as picking a lock, intimidating and grilling a guy for information, and how to get into places and sneak around without being noticed.
His skills in fighting is something he is trying to improve to this day, and in itself, his skills are decent, even though he hasn't been trained professionally. A scrapper, Jason's fighting style seems to be influenced by what he has seen on the streets, and what his quick thinking and reflexes tell him to do. He goes for whatever causes the most damage, and thusly, has a very raw, brutal, yet efficient style that allows him to focus on one guy or many guys. He mainly uses his makeshift/home-made weaponry, and even though he's not trained in using actual melee weapons, he's a natural, and sports have given him knowledge on how to swing and hit things.
Appearance: Jason is reasonably tall, standing at 6'1", with a muscular build that comes from exercise, fighting, and later, training. He has fair white skin, with a few permanent scars along his torso and arms, along with rather shaggy black hair and dark brown eyes. He generally wears practical, general clothing that he can afford/get without having a lot of money, such as worn jeans, sneakers, and regular old shirts and jackets. However, his
Havoc apparel is a tad different.
A pair of rugged, durable pants, two short-sleeved shirts - for the extra protection, and bandages wrapped around his arms in case of injury. He has fitted hockey armor in certain places on his body, such as his shins, shoulders, and torso, for extra protection. It has held up miraculously so far. A tightly-strapped, old backpack is strapped to him, as well, opened at the top, holding different weapons such as baseball bats with nails, reinforced hockey sticks, and some other gizmos he has rigged up. They are strapped on the inside of the backpack, so that they don't fall out whenever he has to move fast. They don't weigh him down much, if at all, either. What completes his look is a mask made out of metal, that he managed to gouge out after a few nights of working on it. It is his staple, and what keeps his face, mouth, and eyes protected in fights.
