Appearance:
V'Nala stands at approximately 5'10" (177 cm). Tall and slender she has the build of a supermodel yet her homo-mermanus genetics makes her so much more than just a pretty face. Her hair is dark and silky usually worn down past her shoulders towards the middle of her back. Her eyes as as blue as a pristine ocean tide. V'Nala's skin tone appears to be that of a well tanned Caucasian, and her lips are pink and full.

Homo-Mermanus Physiology - Homo-Mermanus are an offshoot of humanity that is biologically adapted to the deep ocean environment. For most them, this means that they can breathe underwater, endure the pressures of the deep (among other adaptations), and can only spend a very limited time out of water. Many also possess superhuman levels of strength, speed, endurance and durability, all by-products of their bodies being adapted to survive unprotected in the tremendous pressures of the ocean depths. Although other underwater dwellers possess similar adaptations, V'Nala's royal lineage makes her a super-Xebelian as well as super-human, and as such she has greater physical capabilities than does a typical citizen of Xebel.
Amphibious Nature - as an Xebelean, V'nala can breath underwater and on land. She can be immersed indefinitely without suffering any ill effects but being super-Xebelean due to her royal lineage, she can survive on land longer than an average homo-mermanus. This length can be extended by the humidity in the atmosphere but eventually prolonged dehydration will weaken her thus she must return to aquatic enviroment at various period.
Enhanced Senses - V'Nala's senses of hearing and smell are several times more acute than a normal human-being, but not on the level of a Kryptonian. Her ability to see in the murky depths of the ocean allows her exceptional night vision while on land.
Superhuman Durability - V'Nala is durable enough to resist small arms fire with minor injuries as well as to survive the temperatures and pressures of the deepest parts of the ocean.
Superhuman Reflexes & Speed - V'Nala is as quick as a fish. On land she can move at just above peak human speed running at roughly 35 to 40mph. While in the water she can reach a speed of about 155mph.
Superhuman Stamina - She can travel and maintain a speed of 155mph in the water for up to four hours.
Superhuman Strength - V'Nala's strength is superior to the average Xebelian and Atlantean allowing her to lift up to 15 tons.

Telepathy (limited) - As with her mother, Hila, V'Nala possesses a limited degree of telepathy, which allows her to communicate with other Xebelian & Atlantean beings.

Siren Song - V'Nala is capable of emitting astonishingly beautiful and enchanting singing voice that is capable of summoning/luring anyone who hears it to come towards her.
Lure - V'Nala can create a beacon that draws those perceiving it or only the one targeted towards her. This ability is irresistible, forcefully causing the target or targets to come even closer. She may target one specific person up to 100ft away or up to ten people within a 30 foot diameter.
Compel - She can compel people by speaking, the victims are unable to disobey; the seemingly cogent commandment is far too compelling. By speaking calmly V'Nala can give her targets simple commands.

Diving & Swimming

Combat - The Princess of Xebel has had some combat training though her actual combat experience in lacking compared to most other members of the new League. V'Nala is trained in some hand to hand as well as the use of a sword and a trident.

Multilingual - V'Nala speaks Atlantean/Xebelian, American English and Spanish.

Weaknesses
Water Deprivation - V'Nala must return to water after a period of time or she will weaken.

Siren Song - V'nala's siren song will, of course, not work on the deaf or hearing impaired. It will only work on intelligent humanoids who can hear her and understand the words she says/sings. When trying to compel someone she must make eye contact with them. Also, trained and powerful psychics may be able to resist this ability.

Superiority - She believes her people to not only be superior to humans, but Atlanteans as well.

Temper, Temper - Much like her aunt, Mera, V'Nala has anger management issues which could be used against her by her more crafty enemies.

Backstory:
For a number of centuries the underwater kingdom of Xebel had managed to keep itself hidden from the world including it's bitter rival Atlantis.

Motivation for joining the League?:
To give Xebel it's just due, and to show it's superiority over Atlantis.

To learn the fate of Aquaman (and possibly the Trident of Posiedon).

What do you bring to the League?:
The ability to traverse water environments with little or no difficulty. V'Nala knows much of the territory of the Atlantic Ocean.

An envoy of Xebel, an underwater city that may or may not become an ally of the League.

Notes
Homo-Mermanus is actually a Marvel term, but since there are underwater humanoids that live outside of Atlantis I thought the term fitting.
V'Nala is not a mermaid.

@BlackSam3091 if you don't mind I gonna play with the history of Atlantis and Xebel somewhat. I believe in the Silver Age Xebel was a city in Dimension Aqua. Somewhere it may have gotten changed to an Atlantean penal colony. I've only read vol 1 of the New 52 Aquaman so I do not know how Xebel has been set there nor if it's been referenced in Rebirth. So my idea is the cliche of the king died and his two sons went to war, one ruling over Atlantis and the other Xebel. Xebel lost the war and hid itself from the world until a few years ago.

So that's my PM's dealt with, giving me time to work on the opening IC post. 

So I have a choice for you all. Either your characters have been recruited by the League (automated process put in place to send messages of recruitment to proven heroes and superhumans in the event that the League disappear, put in place by Batman) shortly before the start of the RP and we'll open onto their first meeting as a group, or the first 'arc' is them all coming together to face a threat large enough to unify them then taking it off their own backs to band together as a new League, or my personal favorite, a mix of both. Some characters (The more obvious JL replacements such as Nightwing, Seraph, and Shining Knight) have already banded together as a replacement League, while others (the more off-center picks like Julian Luther, Starling and Miss Appear) are still operating on their own, but all must come together in the face of a cosmic threat that hopes to take advantage of the JL proper's disappearance.

Kinda prefer the third option as I do not think my character would be deemed a replacement for Aquaman as there are many other more suitable options available.
