"If you say so." Although Mali's words indicated that she believed him, almost no other part of the message followed that same line of communication. Imagine if you would the tone of voice you take with that friend who's always half an hour late (at best) when you call them and ask where they are and they reply that they're 'almost there.' Or maybe the body language of your mother-in-law when she comes over for Thanksgiving and she looks over the dinner spread you've spent all day preparing with an eye that can pick apart errant molecules 2 nanometers out of place (50% chance you can drop the "in law" part and it'll still apply). If that doesn't do it, how about the facial expression your roommate has when you ask for $25 because you totally need it to pay for gas for the week, no really you're not going to blow it all on cake and chocolate and hide them in the bottom drawer under your socks.

On the train they stepped onto, Mali decided not to sit down with Relic, rather she remained standing right by him. This wasn't actually rooted in the many nonverbal signals of skepticism she had just been sending, but a much simpler reason. Her butt and back was starting to hurt from so much sitting, and needed to stand to relieve those issue.
Post tomorrow after work probably.
Cyneburg

Location: Orc Cave
Interacting with:Gretchin

"As far as I know, everyone's still alive," Cyne responded to Gretchin's uncharacteristically helpful set of questions. The only person who might be dead was Sana, and she was surrounded on all sides by people trying to do things. Having a racial knack for seeing in the dark did not help much when spotting your target would require X-ray vision. Cyne gave Gretchin a once over. She seemed alright, but it wouldn't hurt to verbally confirm thatshe wasn't secretly injured.

"Are you unharmed? As far as helping out, I don't think there's anything in particular you would be able to assist with. Unless you have some method of getting rid of this wall of ice." Cyne planted the base of her axe-cane into the ground and rested her weight upon it, watching the commotion surrounding Sana. It seemed like she was recovering? Whatever the case, once things settled down a bit, she could hand Keystone his knife back. And then maybe get some shut eye. There was still a big day ahead, and there had been enough nocturnal activity for just about everyone.

"祖先请," Lionel exclaimed at the not unexpected but still surprising sudden burst of flames from the engine. As the only able-bodied person not busy with some other bullshit, it was up to him to take up the task of firefighting. Lionel ran to the fire extinguisher and fumbled around with it as he made his way back to the open fire. He was lucky enough that the knowledge of how to operate the tool was never forgotten, always tucked away in some dark recess of his mind, but at the same time, it was hard to get a proper handle of the pin and trigger when you were on a crashing ship and stakes were high. Silently, as he sprayed the fire extinguisher into the flaming engine, Lionel resolved that next time he found himself without a place to stay, he would not pick a Firefly ship.

Carla Lobo

Location: The Bridge

Well Carla certainly hadn't expected this turn of events to occur. They actually managed to stop the Reaver attack. But from the looks of things, they had sacrificed their ship's functionality, effective leaving them sitting ducks for the crew to pick up their target. Carla found her hand resting over her heart, which was accelerating in its rate of beating as her body felt like it was growing hotter and hotter. Oh anticipation was only going to sweeten the release to come.

"Are you sure that we'll have time find and get what we need from this person and then make it to the rendezvous point?" This endeavored sounded like the kind of thing where the conversation alone could easily take up half an hour at a minimum. Mali had no idea how lenient Relic's sister was when it came to tardiness, but she still didn't want to be late.

It came off as a trivial thread to investigate given the limited time they had to work with. If it were up to Mali, the time would be better spent taking the long route to the docks to mask their movements and make sure nobody was following. The idea of getting caught up in another shooting was less than appealing, especially if the target of this one was her rather than a bunch of hoodlums outside a trashy bar. Not that she would vocalize these thoughts. Relic was the one paying for the transportation, and he seemed to be far more paranoid cautious than Mali had been. If this route of travel was acceptably safe, then it probably was.

Location: Engine Room

"The engine has been having a hissyfit and spitting sparks, take a wild guess what happened." Lionel yelled over the aforementioned engine on the verge of breakdown. The whole thing might have well have been held together with scotch tape, Elmer's glue and good intentions and now Captain Crowe was demanding that they were to push it even further. Well, with the engine on the brink of failure and the engineer in a similar situation he chalked this up to all else failing.

He didn't have the knowledge of how the engine worked, but his old brain still retained the ability to remember instructions from way back, and considering there wasn't time to ask for further instruction, he followed up on the only course of action that came to his mind. He rushed across the engine room, doing his best to avoid sparks, blow ups and irritating ship personnel to make his way over to a specific drive Gideon had told him about before the Reavers showed up. With a running start he pulled his leg back and gave it the best, high-powered soccer kick he could give it. Hopefully this would produce the desired result. At worst... best not to think too hard about that scenario.
I for one look forward to not just one, but two of our first LLA deaths.
On second thought, it seems kind of a waste to use up a potion to suffocate an unconscious person. You could use a vial of water (claim it's a transparent potion to keep up the ruse) to accomplish the same end.
Cover her nose to make sure you get the job done.

Mali followed behind Relic on the way to the subway. Subways weren't exactly a form of public transit that came as second nature to her, but she had spent enough time in Boston and with the MBTA that it wasn't a foreign experience. There were the terminals, and the map and the gates. Everything was arranged a bit differently than she was used to, and it was slightly dirtier than the subways in Boston, but that was all to be expected.

"Oh. Thanks." She was halfway through pulling out her wallet and digging up bus fare when Relic paid for her. It was only then she thought that maybe she should stop using her cards for paying for things, except emergencies and maybe basics like groceries. Cash is probably a lot harder to track. Probably.

On the actual subway, she found herself very bored. Yeah sure she was peeking over and reading what Relic was doing, but other than that, all there was to do on this metal tube was glance at the few other people, look outside at the underground tunnel and stare at one's own shoes. If she had known she'd be in for an excess of waiting today, she would have brought a book or something.
