Dorothy? Why would he need to call Dorothy? And that's when Lionel looked down and noticed the burned pants and presumably charred flesh underneath. He recoiled empathetically. Jímǔ de tián hé là fàguó zhá jī, how did he not see that earlier? The noise of the dying engine must have stopped him from hearing any mentions of that particular injury.

"Well if the whole thing decides to keel over right here, at least we'll probably die before any pain can set in, and without the Reavers getting to us." A morbid thought? Yeah, but there wasn't much else he could do right now except help try to keep said explosion from occurring and hoping for the best.
@Lady Amalthea Forgot to tag. Whoops.
Was going to post, but on second thought I'll pass. Nothing much of value for me to add atm.
Roger wasn't quite sure what to make of the whole situation. On one hand, it felt good knowing that they might be able to finally put the Cruxi on the defensive for once, they were being given more support than during Troas/Joppa and everything seemed to be on the level. But on the other hand, there was a lot of doubt hidden under the surface: what if this was a trap, or worse what if nothing was really there after all. And then there was the fact that there was such a high degree of confidence placed in Team Sigma. They only had one real mission so far, and that was a victory only secured with heavy casualties sustained by both the planetary defense forces and the Squad itself. Hell, for the Joppa team, it could barely be considered a victory considering how they were treated after the fact.

Whatever the case, the meeting was adjourned and Rooney had no interest in trying to volunteer for an assault pack. He wasn't nearly good or experienced enough to be trusted with such a responsibility, and knowing his track record would probably end up damaging all the bonus equipment anyways. And the only two normal guys in the Squad were volunteering for the assault packs. Great. Well he'd have to go grab some grub by himself then.

At this point I imagine your Frame just tearing past as a blue blur, with the words 'You're too slow' being heard all around.

If he gets this many boosters, I demand he re-name his frame to Sonic.

Or maybe as a

At this point if I ever get a second primary system (highly unlikely) it might as well be more boosters

And the second secondary is also more boosters
And then I just call the Assault Pack so I can charge into things with the shield up and the extra boosters active for MAXIMUM RAMMING POWER

"Will do, once out of alleys," Mali said in between breaths. Once she picked up Relic she picked up the pace to an out-and-out run. She did her best to make sure Relic was securely in place so he didn't end up slipping and falling on his head, but at the same time wasn't getting crushed either. It was kind of like picked up a kitten, where you could feel how fragile it is and how you could hurt it if you were too careless or malevolent (and had no soul. Why would you knowingly hurt a kitten with your bare hands?).

Going to the docks? Coming up again today was an odd little coincidence. And there was something else about the docks that didn't sit right with Mali, but she couldn't quite figure out what it was right now. The most annoying part about the mental block was that her brain knew she should remember exactly why it brought up a red flag, but was useless with getting the reason itself. Mali slowed to a stop and gently put Relic back down onto his feet and wiped some sweat off of her brow. The summer heat wasn't doing her any favors in the hydration department.

"Alright, lead the way to the bus stop. Even though we'll probably show up early to the docks." Right as the words left her mouth, Mali remembered the efficiency of the Justice Public Transit system. "Scratch that, we'll get there on time if we're lucky."

"Strategic value trumps my own desire"

...So you're going to forgo giving it to the 100% experience war veteran in favor of the 47% experience kid?

He's got a point.
