Shinji Hasebe - 19 - Male

Appearance:
Stands at around 6‘0 Shinji usually wears old bowling shirts and khaki pants. He has prescription glasses that he’ll fiddle with when his nervous.
Personality: Friendly and tries to be a buddy for people who need one, Shinji has a warm disposition and really tries to be everything for everyone no matter how much that might be the best thing to do. Although Shinji takes his bowling seriously, he never tries to be too competitive with things. Even though Shinji himself realizes that doesn't help him in the long run.
One thing about Shinji that he can't even really explain himself is how girls seem to really gravitate towards him and his charms. Considering how he feels deep down it does make things difficult. He becomes shy, avoiding, and for the most part that only serves to give him a hard to get look that only makes things worse. Shinji hasn't really come to terms about it all himself. Since Japanese culture doesn't favor such a thing, but also when Shinji was little, and realizing for the first time that he was attracted to men. A man in his neighborhood was the victim of a vicious attack for reportedly being a homosexual. The experience of seeing it first hand severely scarred Shinji and made it even harder for him to accept it.
Background:
Shinji was practically born to be a bowler. His parents own one of the few bowling alleys in Kantou City, Golden Lanes Bowling Alley. Where Shinji would spend his free time helping run things and play himself. He ended up developing a two handed bowling style after seeing a visiting man from Australia do it. Which Shinji was able to perfect with lightning fast speed and borderline pinpoint accuracy.
When Shinji was in high school he helped develop the then medicore bowling team and eventually led them to two years in a row high school bowling champions. After graduation many people expected Shinji to turn pro and start competiting professionally. Even to the point where sponsors were coming to the bowling alley to try and recruit him. However Shinji refused stating he didn’t feel comfortable going pro yet. Truth was, his worries about his own sexuality left him worried that if he does go pro, and people found out he was gay, things would get ugly quickly.
Shinji still works at the bowling alley, and does so between classes at the university where his studying sports medicine. Although Shinji hasn’t quite put as much into his academics has he had in the past, and his grades have slowly slipped as a result. His parents are concerned, and know something is severely bothering him. Shinji though has tried to feign being okay, but deep down, he is defiently not okay.
