"Come on, slowpoke! This cool night won't last forever!" Lily called down to Matt, making him smile.
Emphasis on cool. Matt thought. He closed his eyes and concentrated for a second, then FLASH! Matt was replaced by a brilliant bird weaved in flames.
Matt shot into the air, leaving behind bright particles of flame. When he reached the others, he began circling them. Unlike hummingbirds and, apparently, Carmen, he couldn't hover in one place.

"Well, yeah. There's a bunch of friendly people here. I guess when you're used to being different from the rest of the world, you get more excited to make friends with non-humans..." Dani trailed off, then grinned.
"Hey hey hey, you sneaky girl! Unearthing my history while I barely know you." he said in obvious mock anger. "I'll be asking the questions from here on out, buster."
Dani thought for a second, then looked over at her, now serious.
"I've heard a lot of rumors about zombies, but what are they really? I mean, obviously you're not a lumbering idiot without an arm and the need to eat people." he asked.

"'A' or 'the' doesn't matter to me. Phoenix, hm? Why would you be embarrassed about that?" Carmen asked casually. Matt looked at the floor.
"Ever try walking up to someone and saying you're the Phoenix?" Matt asked quietly.
Matt raised his eyebrows questioningly when Lily just trailed off. Was something wrong? Even if Lily was the same power-wise as she was last time he met her, she was still pretty powerful, right? Matt himself had improved a lot, but that's because there were lots of room for improvement. However, Lily moved on without lingering.
"Anyway. Even if you can't talk, It would be fun to fly together. Maybe we can find some place to stop for a bit and talk. After all, I haven't talk to you like that in a long time, Matt." Lily said, smiling. Matt smiled back, remembering the times they spent together in Kamasyia, including the extraordinary amount of time they spent in nurse-related offices.
"That would be fun, I'd like that." Matt said, eyes shining.
"Well, we're not going to just stand around on the ground forever, are we? Let's fly!" Carmen exclaimed.

Dani looked over at Liam in surprise when she suddenly let go of his hand and slapped herself. Before he could ask if anything was wrong, she turned around and started talking like nothing happened.
"We should enjoy the view a bit more while walking." Liam said, then tossed off her sneakers and jumped into the sea, waving her arms like an acrobat. She then turned to look over at Dani with eyes that seemed to say "Your turn!" Dani smiled and took off his shoes too, putting them next to where Liam left hers. He then started walking along the beach with Liam.
"What happened after you died, do you still remember?" Liam asked as they walked.
"Yeah, though it was a slightly confusing time. Something about an orphanage, a hospital, then the streets. I think the adults found out I was a ghost before I did. I don't really remember the details, but I just woke up on a sidewalk in the middle of a city. I went to the police for help, then was put in an orphanage. There I found out that I had no need for eating or sleeping, but I still thought I was a human, so it was pretty freaky. The orphanage people sent me to the hospital to see if anything was wrong, and they found out I wasn't a human. They just kicked me out onto the streets."

@Emy: A quick question, does Athalia come after Kamasyia, Parthinon, and Kalmasyia, or does it replace Kalmasyia? Because I've been roleplaying Matt like Kalmasyia never happened, but the other two did.

If people (Maria? Students?) refuse to 'return' Dani claiming he is a part of the academy now, the HPA can start attacking the academy as retaliation and maybe even as a part of demonstrating their cause against supernatural beings?
Now there's an idea! The academy refuses to give Dani back, insisting he's part of the academy, and quietly keeping the part that Dani has disappeared into thin air again a secret.
Also, maybe it would be cool if Dani brings a couple of closest friends with him to wherever he is going? Is that an okay idea?
