"No thanks. I'm not really feeling at the top of my game right now," he says, taking his plate from Ivy with a quiet, "Thanks."
Adam kisses the top of her head and slowly encourages her up. "C'mon. Let's get Ivy to take care of you."
"I know," he says, gently stroking her hair, "but you can't do that. I can't let myself fall for you if I'm just going to lose you, especially if I know it's because of me. You get that, right?"
Adam looks down at Artimes' wrists. Get her away from there. Sekhmet is very reactive to blood. His eyes dart towards Arthur and he nods almost imperceptibly, taking Artimes' arm just above the cuts and leading her to his room. He closes the door and his eyes in the same movement. "Look, Arty. I'm not gonna pretend that everything is awesome because lying isn't how I roll. It hurt me that you won't stop being so self-destructive, especially after I told you that I was scared to get close to you because of that." He exhales deeply, turning around and facing her.

Adam looks her in the eye and says, "Then you were wrong. I'm not worth protecting. Not at the sake of your life." He spins on his heel and walks with a strange sort of calm back to his room.
Adam glances at Artimes, then turns and heads back upstairs. "I'll be in my room if you guys need me. Nice to properly meet you, Arthur," he calls over his shoulder.
