She scoffs. "Not jealous, girlie. Just bored. I could have been working or something, but I had to wait on you guys." She glowers at Arthur. "And I'm definitely not jealous. I'm just sick of my functionally-brother making doe eyes while there's work to be done."

Max seems to have been lurking outside the door, and rolls her eyes when the two emerge. "Finally. Let's go then, lovebirds," she says, standing impatiently.

Adam raises an eyebrow. "Oh? Has that happened often?" he asks, finishing a fajita and moving on to the next.

Adam chuckles. "I agree that I hate to hear my siblings cry, but I can't say that I've ever had to deal with that!"

Adam accepts the plate. "I do have siblings, but I'm not sure about reacting the same way, he chuckles. He eats a bit of the pasta and continues, "I know that kids have limited perceptions, so I try to look at both sides of the story." He shrugs. "Maybe that's just me. I'm not sure how people usually handle kids. I just try to treat them as adults with low perception."

Adam blanches. "Well, don't do that! He's not that great with kids, as far as I can tell." He laughs softly. "Poor kid must've felt ambushed."

Adam nods. "That makes sense. Potato soup sorta sits on your tongue like a warm blanket. This stuff is just really tasty water in comparison." He smiles. "Your sister's really cute."

"No, no, it's good! I'm just used to much thicker soup. Have you ever had potato soup? It's much thicker than this," he says, taking another bite sheepishly. "I'm sorry for making a fuss. I just thought it was strange."
