I'm not gonna fail your test now, am I? I studied so hard! What's a princess to do?! I lied about exactly one thing in my answer. Not saying what."

"Punch people. Read books. Play games. Normal people stuff. What kind of question is that? Who writes these books?"
• Who, outside the team, thinks better of you than you do?
"Probably Ermine. Does she count? She's kinda on the team, but not really. Maybe my mom?"
• Why do you try to be a hero?
"I don't. Don't ever call me a hero. I'm just an everyday girl who just happens to be able to make other people into everyday people...and have weapons that I don't have to carry around."
• Why do you care about the team?
"They're important to the plot. But really, maybe, eventually I'll get laid, right? As cool as I am, I- wait, I mean...all the time. I'm, you know, like a whore or something? No, that doesn't sound good either. But I don't want to sound like a prude. Look, if you can keep a secret, which I'm sure you can't, I haven't yet. But I want to. Oh. You want an actual answer? Sure. I'm great. Umm...but why do I care about the team? Because they're as cool as I am? Some of them, anyway...cool enough."

How they make me grotesque: "Do you think I'm pretty? Fine, I'll remove my mask. Now do you think I'm pretty? Do you think they're really what make me so monstrous? I'm a lot scarier in the stories, I know. But I'm not a monster. Or am I? How do you think those stories came to be? Hmm? There's some fact to everything, right? I can see how people would think these claws are scissors. I've used them for that before. For school. At least they don't make me go to the same school as everyone else. Homeschool is a heavensend. I rarely have to get seen, and when I do...well...there are all kinds of tricks to hide claws and scars and slit open faces."

"That is the most insulting question I've ever heard. I've always been and always will be Yuki Abe. Sure, I was pretty before, but all because some asshole started a rumor...oh. Yeah. It's been around a lot longer than I have. I fully believe I'm not the first of my kind, but now I'm better than it."
• When did you change? What caused it?
"I've been like this for several years. As I said, I'm not the first of my kind. I fully believe that because she made me one, too. It's a compliment, really. She thought I was pretty. She thought I was pretty and made me pretty like her instead. So I'm a different kind of pretty. No, it's not supernatural or anything. Science, bitch. I'm a new species of human, re-imagined to fight the kind of things we have to fight in our world. Even if it means a few of us have to recruit other PYTs."
• Who, outside of the team, is helping you understand your new body?
"I still have a boyfriend. He's been helping me a lot with my new body, if you know what I mean. Name's friggin' Ragnar. Only person I know as badass as me with just his name alone. He still thinks I'm pretty, too. Oh. You meant...OHH. How embarrassing. The doctor who made me what I am is one of us, too. Doctor Akiyama. She teaches me stuff, yeah. All kinds of combat training, mainly. I'm the only one who's not all 'Oh no, I'm so scary, and there are rumors about us that make us sound even scarier and we need to stay indoors. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, they reapin' erryone.' Sure, I changed a word or two. Paraphrasing's a bitch. But at least I've got a little support."

"Why should I?"
• Why do you care about the team?
"They're pretty badass, don't you think? I mean...we're a team. It's not like I've got my own people to help."
