If you like all of the necessary ingredients, pastry and all, why not just make the pie? So many questions.

Fireworks are fine and all, but why do they have to be so bright, colourful and loud?

See, I always pronounced Nutella based on how it was spelt. Noot-telly. Is that wrong?

What I meant by poll wasn't that literal and no I don't think so give Mahz some time.I think Byrd and other supporters of "don't enforce it" on time stamping makes a lot of sense in a way, and the only reason we needed it was for clarity due to misconceptions before (like during the Robinson Park business in UDC).

Again, perhaps only whilst in active interaction then.

Perhaps we can poll our opinions on the issue and see if we can't find some sort of balance or decision on one or the other.

I can't see why not. I'll set a couple of poles up. (Do we have the capability here yet?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1jPUB7gRygI think that the time stamp should probably used if it affects the scene between characters and/or on a player-by-player basis IMO.

Is that Barbie girl. I'm not checking it if it's Barbie girl...

Who's to say the 'year' in the timeline has to begin in the beginning of a literal year? Year two or three only refers to how many years it's been from a starting point. If the event this RP's storyline is starting from (let's say the 'birth' of the modern hero) occurred in September of 2012 and it's now September of 2013, then September is the start of the second year of the modern hero. Simple as that.I for one would enjoy starting sometime other than January or February, and September is perfect for the teenaged characters; start of a new school year. So, I'm all for it.

Thanks for the back up there. Did you get around to sending those Otto ideas over? I haven't re checked the old site in a while

I shadow-read the last thread that you guys had but never joined in as I felt I'd just be dropping in the middle of structured relationships and so forth (just my feelings) and most of the characters I felt like playing were. However, with the reboot, I don't feel as bad now and everyone's up for grabs. :P Colour me interested, along with the pink my avatar has -.-

Nice. I happen to be Aqua today, which is perfect.

I agree with both on the time stamping, so I'm a little torn. In someways, it's as restrictive as not having it. I suggest time of day (night, early evening etc.) and week number as a base for people intending to interact. Anyone who's happy to keep the self contained for a while can do what they want, while anyone who wishes to put the whole shabang can also.

Like I said, it just seems awkward is all. I was thinking of discussing in UDC when we should start (Jan. 1st? mid-Jan? etc.) but I think it should be in Q1at least.\\Also I'm half-awake so take any tone mistakes on my part lightly, lol.

Ha, alright. I'm half-asleep myself.

^Again, I'll leave it to the community. I just factored in that if we lasted four months in this season we'd be able to start a defacto year three without any gap filling.

People shouldn't encroach on the three characters I played then if we're asking for courtesies.

It was only a request. If someone snipes me on the way they can have it.

Making it optional allows for inconsistencies though don't you think? Also, starting a fresh year in the middle of it is awkward imo.

Well, I'll see how strongly everyone else feels about it. I'd likely have gone down the route of making it compulsory for people wishing to interact, but no, I think your right.

Starting the year at that point only made sense for me in that the earlier half of the year is pretty much devoid of holidays/events. I've never seen a year of a roleplay last long enough to see the effect of a Christmas or Halloween on posts and stories. Reaction to external sources sounded fun on paper. If that's too gimmicky for the rest I can roll the calendar back to New Year's Eve of Year One.

Alright... lets just gauge how this goes over....Player Name: DrewVonAwesomeCharacter You Wish To Play: Peter Parker - Spider-ManMoral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): HeroAffiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): He is his own man… as much as he regrets it sometimes.Character Origin & Backstory: Peter’s story begins before he was even born, with his parents Richard and Mary Parker. A pair of CIA agents who had been given specific training and enhancements for their particular line of work. The two had a long career working together and when they both retired to begin raising a family had already shared a deep love for one another marrying years before. They gave birth to Peter, who after testing found out that he had inherit some of his parents enhanced genetic code. It only became worse when further testing by the CIA figured that with time his powers would only grow stronger. So with the option to either hinder these abilities in him through genetics work by the labs, or nurture them. His parents choose to nurture.Peter had a great few first years with his parents, they would play with him often as a means of seeing how much stronger, faster, and other such things he had become. However Peter’s parents had also made many enemies in their time working. Which all came back when both of Peter’s parents were shot and killed through sniper fire. The events so traumatic that Peter’s mind repress all the memories of playing with his parents and in turn, all of his more unique gifts.Having to move from Washington DC to New York City, Peter at the age of six moved in with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. A married, middle of 50 aged couple living in Queens retired themselves. Two people who were also the third generation in the genetics to not only work with the CIA, but get genetic enhancements from them. Both of whom continued to raise Peter, but kept quiet about his abilities. As they realized that Peter had seemingly forgotten all about them.Peter, despite his athletic skills and charms, was often bullied in school for his very geeky personality. Even with his power deep inside, Peter never entered sports and never did much besides school work, and after school programs like chess club. During all this time though, May and Ben both started to get word back from the CIA on clues that had developed on the assassination of Peter’s parents. Links were beginning to surface between the person responsible and Oscorp. An organization that Peter’s parents began looking into before retirement. As Peter has reached the final year of high school, he has been given a scholarship program by Oscorp, and asked to join with them in internship. Peter has connections already with the organization. One of his few friends being Harry Osborn, the son of Oscorp’s CEO Norman Osborn. Still Peter has been starting to feel a bad omen coming on. His aunt and uncle being more visibly worried for him, and Oscorp is seemingly restless about him joining or not.Powers and Abilities (What can you're character do? What can't they do?): ‘Spider-sense’: A ‘sixth sense’ that Peter has that warns him of any oncoming danger. I like that. Is this a situation of powers from birth or the ability to gain powers from birth?

I've decided what to do with Otto now and I've got the basis of D. Doom ready, so that's something. Either way, I'm getting the story up and then the OOC. I ask, out of courtesy due to remaking this, that at least the characters aren't applied for until then.

I have no problem with year two as it fits perfectly with my plans. What date does the RP begin at, though? Month/YearAnd can we implement the timestamp system as we had in the last UDC?

I wanted do start near the end, really. October/September time. I'm definitely a fan of the time/date stMp, though I shan't be enforcing it as compulsory. It is expected that if you do however, that areas, weathers and events match up.

What year are we looking at here?

It depends on everyone else. I was thinking Year Two, purely out of not wanting to see another player spend their run solely doing an origin story. I propose a different take though. I suggest everyone plays their character at the stage in their development that they wish but give a specific epoch to a certain event that we year up from. Perhaps year three from the emergence of Captain America, or Year five from the discovery of the x-gene. Perhaps year one since a battle of some type. Unless everyone's happy with the system as is. Year two is fine.
