I've been RPing on here on and off since I was 12 (fuck it's been awhile) on multiple accounts (I started this one when I was around 13), over that time, I've most certainly gotten better both as a writer and someone who's able to get into character. My favourite (and really only) types of RPs are NRPs because I feel like they play into my interests of politics, character creation, and historical contexts/world-building. My favourite settings are those stereotypical post-apocolypse dystopias that you would see the generic Young Adult book protagonist wander around, though I'm also open for Sci-Fi, Modern, and Historical settings. I'm not the biggest fan of Steampunk though, so it's slightly more difficult for me to get involved in those. When RPing, I prefer not to get involved into the stats side of things, as I'd much rather dive deep into the lore of both the setting I'm RPing with and the Characters/Nations I'm using for that RP in question. Now, for more about myself, I'm a massive fan of Music in general and a Singer. My favourite band changes what seems like weekly, though I'd say I'm a massive fan of Nine Inch Nails, Turnover, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foster The People, Weathers, and Smashmouth The Wombats. My favourite songs are probably Closer, by Nine Inch Nails, Knights of Cydonia, by Muse, BYOB, by System of a Down, Pumped up Kicks, by Foster The People and I Don't Wanna Know, by Weathers. My favourite games are NBA2k18 and Crusader Kings 2, though I'm also a fan of HOI4 (yay Kaiserreich) and EU4. Database of some RPs I've ran: Age of Rebirth (Post WW3) The original. Was a popular NRP for it's time but eventually died out. The Rise of Man (Fallout-like RP) The "sequel" to Age of Rebirth. Was quite interesting building off the history of an NRP that already happened to create a new one. Sollus Supremus (Dune-like Space Opera) I decided to venture out of my comfort zone a bit with this one, some really generic Space Opera. Age of Rebirth: The Rising Tide [Post-Apocolyptic NRP] Honestly my favourite one I've ever made, though that's most likely because I've become a better writer over the past 3 years, considering I'm no longer 13, like I was when I made Age of Rebirth.
I'm going to use Empire Total War to play mock-battles in place of any mechanics, scaling the forces involved to what my posts say. Wont be perfect, but it will stop me from accidentally releasing OP goo over everything. Unless of course I particularly want/need an area for the story's sake.
So in this first battle, I'm going to go up against a full deck of militia based units with a quarter of decent troops.
I'll post the numbers (casualties) in my posts where battles have taken place, and the posts themselves will reflect how the battle went.
Of course this could be a disaster, but we'll see :P
Also, forgot to say something in my last post. This is a way to make sure no tribal uprisings happen, by thoroughly conquering them, if not you'll just end up like the Europeans in the Americas who faced uprisings for a while.
@MetalLoverQuick qestion: how does expansion/colonization work? Do you just say "I own dis nao" on the map until you get into a fight with someone else over a chunk of land?
Its kind of like the Victoria 2 System, you claim the territory on map (Preferably by coloring the map in yourself, but if not just saying in the post that you claim these territories) and if within your next post no one claims it then you get it. If someone does claim it then it results in either A. Peaceful Resolution B. No one gets it (If both nations back off) C. War (depending on how violent both players are) Though like I mentioned before I'll have tribal uprisings happen sometimes.
Don't mind me, I'm just slow. I've also decided to scrap most of my original ideas, so I'm reworking that as well.
On another note, does Panem style tech go too far? I mean yes it's future-y and impressive looking, but it lends itself primarily to defense I think. They aren't as advanced as they appear.
Lol, I've always enjoyed EU4 more. Probably because I'm biased towards it since it was my first Grand Strategy game but oh well. Don't you think they should make something like a Total War World where instead of it just being focused in Europe (which almost all of them have been lol), you should be able to play on a map of at least just the old world?
TW: Warhammer itself is a rather polarizing thing in the TW community since some say it has a very limited amount of units compared to source material or they refluff certain units (not that I really mind that since you can get Dwarven Miners w/ Grenade Launcher) and how it seems to be a lot of DLC/paywall stuff. Also, Chaos is going to be a player faction you can play as (if you preorder :T) which means its going to have to be balanced. Blegh.
On another note, I am claiming Antarctica for the glory of the Horde. Prepared to get rekt pinguines
Side note, Warhammar Total war, how the hell have I not heard about this, my second favorite Geopolitical Simulator (Behind Ck2) with one of my favorite Franchises. Yay for Heresy destruction. Back to non-hype train, thanks for showing that to hype us up for the RP.
