My favourite (and really only) types of RPs are NRPs because I feel like they play into my interests of politics, character creation, and historical contexts/world-building. My favourite settings are those stereotypical post-apocolypse dystopias that you would see the generic Young Adult book protagonist wander around, though I'm also open for Sci-Fi, Modern, and Historical settings. I'm not the biggest fan of Steampunk though, so it's slightly more difficult for me to get involved in those. When RPing, I prefer not to get involved into the stats side of things, as I'd much rather dive deep into the lore of both the setting I'm RPing with and the Characters/Nations I'm using for that RP in question. Now, for more about myself, I'm a massive fan of Music in general and a Singer. My favourite band changes what seems like weekly, though I'd say I'm a massive fan of Nine Inch Nails, Turnover, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foster The People, Weathers, and Smashmouth The Wombats. My favourite songs are probably Closer, by Nine Inch Nails, Knights of Cydonia, by Muse, BYOB, by System of a Down, Pumped up Kicks, by Foster The People and I Don't Wanna Know, by Weathers. My favourite games are NBA2k18 and Crusader Kings 2, though I'm also a fan of HOI4 (yay Kaiserreich) and EU4. Database of some RPs I've ran: Age of Rebirth (Post WW3) The original. Was a popular NRP for it's time but eventually died out. The Rise of Man (Fallout-like RP) The "sequel" to Age of Rebirth. Was quite interesting building off the history of an NRP that already happened to create a new one. Sollus Supremus (Dune-like Space Opera) I decided to venture out of my comfort zone a bit with this one, some really generic Space Opera. Age of Rebirth: The Rising Tide [Post-Apocolyptic NRP] Honestly my favourite one I've ever made, though that's most likely because I've become a better writer over the past 3 years, considering I'm no longer 13, like I was when I made Age of Rebirth.
The Year is 2024, and life itself has advanced farther then ever thought in less than a 10 year span. The technology to send Humans to Mars now exists, and all that waits is for someone to use it. The use of Oil has declined to the point of nearly being the minority resource used to power energy, making it seem possible to reverse the affects of climate change before 2050. Multiple species have been recovered and now it seems that it is officially possible to bring back animals from extinction, with the birth of the first Wooly mammoth in nearly 4000 years. The possibilities of this New World seem endless. The advancement of this New World that we live in does not mean everything is fine and dandy, no. While a catastrophic conflict has not happened between 2016 and now, the old rivalries of the world exist, and new ones have formed. Iran and Saudi Arabia grow closer and closer to Middle Eastern wide war, with the United Arab Emirates seeming to be the only nation that promotes peace in the area. Armenia and Azerbaijan broke out into conflict once more, with Nagorno-Karabakh being officially reconquered by Armenia. The endless possibilities of this New World give new ways for everything to end.
Hello, and welcome to 2024, The Age of Tomorrow. This NRP will be different from ones I ran in the past because it doesn't involve some massive conflict wiping out most of modern civilization and it takes place much closer to our time. This means that a lot of changes haven't happened compared to a NRP taking place in say, 2050. This means that you will not have as much time to cover in your NRP, which will help you go more in depth for your history.
Speaking of history, other than the facts I stated in the two paragraphs to start this, every else is up to you as long as its realistic. This means that if you want to play as, say, an Independent Catalonia, Scotland, Quebec, etc... you can, but you can't play as the Republic of Texas or a fascist dictatorship in the US. If you don't know if your Nation Idea will fit this Semi-Realistic setting ask me. Also, we don't need a map because most nations are just going to have the exact same borders, if your nation has conquered a small territory of land (Example: Russia conquering a small part of Kazakhstan) put it in the Other Section of your app.

While he was right about many things, he would be wrong about this. We as a human race survived World War Three without a Wide Scale Nuclear Devastation. World War Three had nukes dropped on only three different cities. This though, does not mean Humans as a whole where not beaten down after the war, during and slightly after the war, nations fell and new rivalries where made. The East vs West rivalry that defined the 1900s and early 2000s are no longer how the alliance lines are drawn. Smaller alliances are made amongst nations, with group against group, nation against nation, this Newer World Order might be worse then the world we just escaped.

Basic Introduction
Welcome to Sollus Supremus (Sol-S for Short), the newest attempt at a space opera on the forum. Sol-S shall basically be an attempt at turning the Milky Way into a place divided into large Empires, Republics, Technocracies, and many other types of nations. It will simulate a semi-accurate representation of how society would work with large, conflicting governments with different beliefs. My key goal in this RP is to simulate a Cold War type scenario between at least two superpowers, with other nations joining different sides for protection and power. (If anyone would want to help right up some lore with me in PMs that would be great. Something like a past great war between the two powers or a Galaxy Wide War similar to World War 1 or Two)

Technology Description
FTL has been fully achieved by all of the nations across the galaxy, making travel quick between areas. The way that FTL shall be created for your nation is up to you. If you want, you can create Worm-Holes to travel across the galaxy, or you could just use the generic FTL drive. As stated in the rules, I am not allowing BDO's. If you do not know BDO stands for Big Dumb Object (Something like the Death Star in Star Wars). A BDO is basically just some object that can go and around insta-destroying planets and is only created to be destroyed. The reason why I don't want this to be used is because I feel like it would limit the RP story wise and it would just turn this into who can create the biggest thing to be destroyed.
