Bio

I'm an old soul to the RolePlayerGuild. I've not been around in almost 8 years, and I found myself thinking of when I was younger there was a certain site that I just couldn't think of. Well a few hours of googling and here I am! I'm 20 now, and currently training as a poolee to join the Marine Corps. I'm an old hand at RP and I like to think I'm pretty literate, given that I'm constantly reading. I'm rusty though, so don't be too hard on me! I lean pretty heavily towards high fantasy and Sci-Fi RP, and I did when I was younger as well.

Name: Zayth Arielan Description: Zayth stands at 6’3” and has the build and features of a warrior; Strong, broad shoulders and chest, a chiseled face. His skin, unlike that of his pale fellow Vaulters, is a light tan; the result of his 37 years battling the necrophage horde. His eyes are a deep green, and his short-cropped hair a dark brown; almost black. He has a scar running from the bottom of his jaw to his right side, the ugly remnants of the battle with a humanoid necrophage that lead to his elevation as a Dawn Officer. Goals/Fears: The destruction of Auriga would be a bad scar left upon the history of the Vaulters. As a hardcore traditionalist, his love for his people is surpassed only by his hatred for the necrophage blight, and hopefully in saving Auriga he can destroy the necrophage at the same time. Equipment: Zayth tends to travel rather heavily. Though his power armor, shield, greatsword, and various explosives tend to get him through most situations, he often finds himself in the need for one tool or another. In his mottle grey pack he carries a basic medical kit and various tools and bits of materials that give away his Vaulter background. A constant need to tinker, design, and build means that Zayth’s gear rarely stays the same. A rail rifle can be found strapped to his pack. Preferring being up close to his enemies, Zayth rarely uses it but is proficient with its use. Skills: As an officer, Zayth tends to think before he acts. A mistake on his part tends to cost his marines their lives. He is an excellent tactician and a fierce warrior. Regarded as the best swordsmen in his company and possibly the best among all Vaulters, his skills with the blade are surpassed perhaps only by his skill as a commander specializing in small-team tactics. Personality: Being quick to laugh and tell a joke made him quickly loved among his men, and his ability to separate his emotions from facts even more so. He was ruthless, yet kind. He is fierce, yet calm. It was because of his quick wit and personal discipline that he was chosen to be a part of the Tribunal, and he believed that it was the best way to save his planet and his people. Background: Zayth hails from a family of scientists, and as a result is the first of the Arielans to fight –directly- for his people. Instilled upon him from a young age, Zayth believes in thought before action, and as a result he quickly built a reputation as a shrewd tactician and a fearless leader. A skilled warrior, he is no stranger to leading men and, even if that means leading them to their death. He gained his first command at 24 and despite several less than perfect operations; he was promoted to Dawn Officer at 30.
Can I lock down the Vaulters? If so, awesome. In my research into the lore of Endless I've found that there was a period of time where the Vaulters left Auriga to find their own permanent civilization, and then a certain Vaulter rediscovered Auriga and is making an effort to fix the planet to make it the permanent home of the Vaulters. Whereabouts in this period would you say we are? Based off of the lore you've put and the story you'd like us to roughly follow, I feel like the latter would be most likely but I figured I'd ask anyway.
Glad to hear it. Actually, if you purchase the expansion for Endless Space, you can find Auriga in it, which has a unique wonder on it.
Excellent. Do you have a CS yet?
Welcome back dude. So you must've been around when the guild was more like this!
Holy... Wow the nostalgia. Thanks Mahz, I appreciate that.
@Ezrath, the Vaulters are actually associated with a particular party in Endless Space, so I am told. I've only played Endless Legend, so I wouldn't know all the details, but reading a little into Endless Space Lore might very well also be helpful.
That's good, because the Vaulters were the faction I was most interested in.
Thanks! I doubt it has, but we'll see. There certainly isn't the same number of people though.
It's a strategy game along the lines of Sid Meier's Civilization but fantasy-themed. A lot of the game is randomly generated when you start, so aside from the factions and planet setting there's actually not a ton of lore, since you're sort of creating it through a playthrough. Good game, though, would recommend if you like strategy games. There's actually a whole Endless series: Endless Space is more sci-fi and large scale, and spans an entire galaxy, Endless Legend is more fantasy-themed and spans only one planet (Auriga), and Dungeon of the Endless is sort of a tower-defense/RPG mashup.
Awesome! I'll definitely be doing some reading. It's been a long time since I've actually done any RP so I'm not sure if you'd care to have me or not, but I'd be glad to be a part of it. edit: Actually just noticed that I have Endless Space in my Steam library. Well I'll be damned.
Guess I'm kinda new so I'll throw in my two cents. I was always into world building when I was younger. I started doing RP when I was 12-13 y/o and got myself way over my head in terms of keeping up with other people. I wanted to think of myself as an "Advanced" RPer when in reality I was casual. I had the thoughts in my head, but couldn't put them to paper (or keyboard I suppose). I started off on a website called... Werecat I think it was called. It was an Eragon-based RP site that went under when the host and admin Vali couldn't dedicate any more of her time to it do to life. I actually found my way here immediately after and jumped right in for over a year, participating in various RPs until life took over and I completely forgot about the site. For some reason I found myself thinking about RPG earlier and now here I am! Between training and work, I have some downtime that I'd like to spend doing something no so physical, and I hope dredging out an old hobby is a good way of doing that.
I'm extremely interested. I must admit though, until now I'd never even heard of Endless Legend so I'll have to do some reading on the lore.
Hey guys. I guess you could say I'm an old soul here. I was fairly active when I was twelve-thirteen years of age, and slowly stopped frequenting as I got older. I'm twenty now, and for some reason I had a random memory of the roleplays that I took part in so long ago, and actually spend the last few hours looking for this exact site. I'm glad to be here again and hopefully I'll get into a fledgling RP soon, and maybe start one of my own. Ask me questions, come say hi! Ez
