Oh bloody hell. The Ori must have made a pretty attractive offer if Palpatine is a legitimate convert.
As Ba'al moved away towards the cluster of buildings and the structure he had indicated, he found himself gathering something of a group, a following. First and foremost was the skeletal man, Asphyxious, the lich, as he described himself. He certainly looked foreboding and powerful, though Ba'al had yet to get a solid impression of the man...thing. Then there was Nobuo, the amusing fellow who had face planted earlier and seemed to have some knowledge of their fellows here. Then Vash the stampede, the man in red who seemed to be from the future, or some variation thereof in an alternate reality. He would be one to watch. And lastly, the most mysterious of the bunch, a blond man with glowing eyes, silent and taciturn, yet with a presence that drew attention as well. If anyone, of all of them, Ba'al was curious about, it was him.

Ba'al looked back at Vash's comment, subtle amusement in his expression. "Very well, though I expect the skyscraper may have a generator with it, if we are lucky." Having power was always a nice thing, and he doubted that they would find an actual power plant here so easily. Though the man might have a different concept of 'power plant' than he did. After all, he knew both human and Goa'uld versions.

Too rapidly, he was joined by the mysterious fellow, the man able to effortlessly keep stride with him, a she spoke now. He smirked at the query. "It is no simple fallacy of ego. As a System Lord I rule over many worlds, alongside others like me. And as Supreme Commander of the Goa'uld Empire, I preside as ruler over all the other System Lords, and command an Empire that stretches the length of the galaxy, encompassing thousands of planets, from primitive agricultural worlds to sprawling forge worlds that create fleets of interstellar vessels, an empire that has endured for tens of thousands of years. That is what I mean by the term 'System Lord'."
And Nobuo, and Sorin.
Well, my guys don't need assistance at the moment, so no real loss. We can just attribute silence to comm issues while you guys get things fully operational again.
If the bridge of the Andromeda had been busy before, now it was practically bustling as damage reports came in, and the comms practically went haywire. Fortunately, damage was minimal and injuries from the turbulent warp limited to nothing life threatening for the most part. The Cosmo Tiger squadrons launched successfully and took up defensive perimeter around the ship, and the shock cannons, pulsar guns, and missile launchers were ready to fire should they be attacked. Considering that the Wave Motion Gun was offline, they were in another galaxy far from home, and surrounded by potentially hostile vessels, they were as ready as they could be.

Hijikata presided over it all still, working to get some sense of order here and to figure out what had happened and how they would get back.

“Sir, I think you should see this,” Flynn called from her station, and Hijikata nodded a confirmation before the viewscreen above the main bridge windows changed to display a planet bustling with activity, bright lights and giving all the appearance of a bustling megapolis, much more than Earth had ever been. “Wow, that's impressive,” commented Brandon idly.

But that was not the only thing, as a glow enveloped the planet itself and large, triangle shaped ships rose to meet them, their presence apparently noted now as the people who dwelt here responded. And more vessels arrived, some saucer shaped ships, a large, purple, almost organic vessel, and more. Space was getting rather cluttered.

Dmitri Pavlovich, Ukraine, leaned back in his chair as the radio waves washed over him. “Admiral, I'm getting a lot of hails out there. They want us to identify ourselves, fall in with one of their cruisers, and prepare to be boarded. They're claiming themselves as some sort of 'Galactic Empire'.

Hijikata frowned as he leaned back in his captain's chair, fingers erched together as he thought. “Respond and tell them who we are, that we will comply with their directive, but will not allow ourselves to be boarded for the purposes of inspection. We request the rights given to sovereign nations, as we are representatives of Earth.”

Dmitri nodded before turning to the comm station. “This is the Earth Defense Forces Ship Andromeda. We hear your request and will comply, however we will not allow ourselves to be boarded for purposes of inspection, and request the same rights that you would give a sovereign nation, as representatives of the Earth Federation.”

Hijikata nodded to Brandon. “Lieutenant, lay in a course.” Brandon nodded and activated the maneuvering thrusters, beginning to bring the ship around into formation with the nearest of the wedge shaped cruisers, though the screen of fighters was careful to interpose itself between the Andromeda and their escort. For the moment, shock cannons were motionless.

Another message came in, this one directed at them from another of the unknown vessels that didn't seem to match any of the multiple numbers of ships out here. “Sir, we're being hailed by a ship called the Osprey, claiming to belong to the United Federation. They claim to recognize us as human, but don't recognize our ship, and want us to confirm our operations and intentions.

That earned a small chuckle from Hijikata. “I think I can agree with them on the 'us being human' part.” Just as the humor was there, so too was it gone.

“Sir, the Osprey appears to be moving onto a parallel course to ours,” Flynn called from sensors.

“Distance,” Hijikata replied with a question.

“Several klicks. Well away from our defensive screen.”

“I see.” Hijikata mulled in thought before speaking again. “Respond, confirm that we are human, and from Earth, that we were en route to fight the forces of the Comet Empire, we have no desire to fight.”

“Yes sir,” Dmitri replied, before relaying the message. “United Federation Ship Osprey, this is the Andromeda, we copy. We are indeed humans from the planet Earth. We were en route to Saturn with the EDF main fleet to engage the forces of the Comet Empire before our transition through Warp went awry and we found ourselves here. We have no desire for unnecessary conflict, and seek to return as rapidly as possible before the Comet Empire can reach Earth.”

And then the last message came in. A request for medical assistance, and that was easily answered. In true Earth tradition, both naval and space based, a request for help wouldn't be denied. “Culling of Prospero, this is the EDFS Andromeda. We are willing to provide medical assistance, though we must inquire as to your ability to receive small transport craft, as well as the number of wounded that need to be tended to.”

The ship floated along, engines at a smooth, constant burn, tachyon energy powering it like a fire, as they floated over a glittering world of light and steel.
It's fine by me. Given that I'm setting off on a trip tomorrow, and might/probably won't be able to do IC posts, I'll get you a response tonight so you aren't stuck in total limbo.
Valtare nodded respectfully to Bane as he approached the two of them, standing still as Serena departed to ready for her and get a horse. His question made Valtare frown though, given how much he had considered the notion himself. "I'm not sure," he replied hesitantly, wishing he knew for certain himself. He hung back as Serena emerged riding a black mare and Bane went to join her and begin the lesson. "Good luck," he said to her with a nod. He would be there by the riding course, as always, watching, providing quiet support, and ready to assist if anything should come up, but he didn't usually ride himself. It just felt weird to him.
The chase is on.
Alex was forced to wait patiently as the AI went around to the regional databases for the information he was looking for. In the meanwhile, he stood by and watched as the security personnel did their work, already clearing wreckage, the injured and dead removed from the scene for either the hospital or the morgue. It was a sight that brought a frown to his face and a clenching of his fists. He despised acts like these and the people who committed them, the ones who thought terror and violence would force their will, would make the Ultimatum bend and break. Couldn't they see that they were acting like fools? The Ultimatum brought peace, order to the world. When faced with threats such as the Great Beast, humanity had to stand united, and the only way to do that was via an overarching global political authority. Fools, fools and dreamers who couldn't see reality for what it was, that was what those terorrists, including the 'Librarian' were.

At last though he had his response, the AI returning to the screen he stood near flashing blue. Search complete. Identity located."

Alex turned back to face the holoscreen. "Good, who is it then?" He clicked on the amalgamated files to open them and see the results, reading with interest. So, Cole Carton was it? The Ultimatum had quite a bit of information on him. There were school records from the academy, how he was on track to join the Judicial Division. Then, news articles which mentioned the death of his sister in riots in 2095, employment records for the work force, medical records diagnosing him as clinically depressed, That almost brought a bitter taste to Alex's mouth, the fact that the terrorist was someone who had been considered to join his division. The taint ran deep it seemed.

But he moved swift now that he had this information, sending a message off to Asgard to inform her of his progress, with a picture and the complied records they had on Cole Carton, his primary suspect. No one ever faulted him for being slow.

With a wave, he slid the security camera footage from the large screen to his activated holopad, as he ran it forward while hooked to the cities network, switching form camera to camera, Cole's face always highlighted. Time to find him. No APB to find him, but Alex did turn to some of the plains clothe men nearby. "You two, come with me,' he ordered as he began to walk at a rapid pace, following the trail to wherever Cole's destination was. Time to catch a terrorist.
