EDFS AndromedaAs the
Andromeda sat in the void of space, engineers scurrying about inside making sure the air stopped leaking out and the damage was repaired as expediently as possible, radar waves swept out to locate the increasing number of contacts about them. Guns hung at the ready, with fighters prepped to scramble again, and missiles primed in their tubes for firing should another free for all break out here. Yet that didn't seem like it would happen at this point, given that most, if not all, had battle damage from the Imperials attacks. It seemed their priorities were in other places.
While Hijikata waited for Roche to arrive back on the bridge and report as to his experience aboard the
Culling of Prospero, Dmitri was barraged again by the radio calls sweeping out, unhindered by interference this time. Given that he had to pick and choose now, he reported on the most relevant requests first, specifically, those aimed at them in particular.
"Admiral," he said, "We're being hailed by an 'Earth Allied Forces
Jotunheim. We're also being contacted by a 'Systems Commonwealth Ship
Valorous Intent offering medical aid and to assist in repairs, and a USS
Aurora offering to open formal communications to discuss the situation. Those last two are broadcasting on multiple frequencies, while the first is directed at us."
Hijikata was intrigued, and took a few seconds to think over the next course of action before responding. He turned to Flynn. What do we have on the
Jotunheim?
Flynn worked quickly, bringing it up on the overhead screen for the bridge crew to see. And as the message passed across indicated, it did share some similarities in design to the
Andromeda, specifically in the area of it being oriented as a naval type vessel in space. "It's 1240 meters long, we're picking up hangar bays, and if these readings are correct, it's even using some form of Wave Motion technology sir."
That certainly piqued interest and made this easier. It seemed they were stuck here in this place for the moment, so some alliances, however temporary, would be useful. Add to that the ship they were talking with had Wave Motion technology such as their own, and it made this much easier. "Open up a channel to the
Jotunheim," he directed. "Meanwhile, tell the
Valorous Intent that we will take what aid they can provide."
Dmitri nodded and pressed a few buttons before turning to his comm to relay their acceptance across to the
Valorous Intent. meanwhile, on the large overhead video screen, the video channel was opened to the
Jotunheim, giving everyone on the bridge the sight of what their cameras would alloow them to see of the other vessel, and in return they would be able to see the Captain's chair with
Hijikata there.
"Earth Allied Forces Ship
Jotunheim this is Vice Admiral Ryu Hijikata, Captain of the Earth Defense Forces Ship
Andromeda. We had come to the same conclusion as you regarding temporal or spatial transportation of some kind, and would not be opposed to a partnership for the duration of our time in Imperial Space."
