EDFS Andromeda

More and more ships arrive, though the flood seemed to be ending somewhat, much to the relief of Flynn working sensors, and Dmitri, working comms. Of course, his relief was less as messages flew in between ships, and conversations, as well as explosions form some station, and all the more. Fortunately, the nanobots from the valorous Intent had gotten to work, and the shuttle had returned them to their ship, so that was a plus. The injured men would appreciate it, and he was informed that they would be well soon enough. Whatever this tech was, Hijikata wanted some of it.

"Sir,' Dmitri called, "We're getting a set of coordinates from the Valorous Intent. It's some sort of rendezvous point, if I don't miss my guess." He shrugged. "Or the explanation they sent. One of those ships with the saucer wants to gather for a meeting to determine what we should do, since we all seem to be stuck here."

Hijikata considered it, and the validity of it, but the message had come from the Valorous Intent, who had proven helpful and trustowrthy as far as that was, "Tell them we acknowledge. Helm, bring us about and move towards those coordinates in tandem with the Valorous Intent."

"Yes sir," Brandon replied, working the controls to do just that. Maneuvering thrusters fired to change their heading, and as the Valorous Intent moved towards the location, so would the Andromeda.

Meanwhile, more messages. "The Jotunheim reports they are ready for our shuttle exchange,' Dmitri said.

Hijikata nodded confirmation. "Tell Commander Roche to saddle up again, this time with an engineering team. Let's see what they have to offer in terms of supplies and tech. Maybe we can even get the wave motion gun fixed."

Then, one last message from the new arrival. "Sir, you may want to hear this," Dmitri said, before funneling it through loudspeakers on the bridge. I am Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, I am afraid to say you have arrived in a time of conflict. After a war that ravaged the galaxy followers of the Dark Side of the Force have seized control of the Republic and reformed it into the Galactic Empire. We have sensed the good in most of you, and seek your help. With your assistance we feel we could free the Galaxy before it is ever enslaved. We invite you aboard our vessel, and are willing to transmit any navigational data or historical data you desire.

Hijikata listened on silently, the message obviously from galactic locals, and these ones not hostile at that. Some terms made no sense, like the Force, Jedi, that sort of thing, but he recognized the offer being made, and he wasn't about to overlook it. "Communications, send them a message confirming and expressing our willingness to meet aboard their vessel. also, ask for a galactic map and recent history of the galaxy, specifically covering this war that ravaged the galaxy."

Dmitri nodded and did just that as Hijikata sat back in his chair. This just kept getting more and more interesting.
Was that not what I said Sep? I thought that that was what I said...
Maybe.... *whistles innocently*
Ah, glorious New Zealand. I know a guy who lives in Australia, and you folks seem pretty chill down there. *Shamelessly lumps New Zealanders and Australians together*
Tai was finished in the gardens, himself calm, refreshed, and replenished for the rest of the day ahead. He would need the mental fortitude, given tat as far a she was aware there was communal rooming for tonight, until teams were established and they got dorm rooms. This would be fun. But, then again, it was only one night, so he could manage. Hopefully.

As it was, he did a bit more walking, seeing groups conversing, some playful actions, that made Tai grin, but he didn't interact, or intrude, instead heading out to one of the nearby open fields and taking up a wide stance before launching into some martial arts practice, quick and rapid blows with his fists and arms, as well as kicks. He hadn't had a chance to practice today, with the airship ride and all, so now was a good time to get into it. Deep breathes, controlled, precise movements, an even application of force and no more than was necessary. When one was dealing with a meteor hammer such a she used, control and stamina was important, especially if one didn't wish to get whacked by ones own weapon.
Her concern for Bane was touching, but at the moment Valtare thought that she should be worrying more about herself. After all, Bane wasn't at the point of passing out from exhaustion, malnutrition, or lack of sleep. Her worry at the end though drew his attention, as he took on a worried expression. "What is it," he asked, concern all too evident in his tone. Not that he could help it. That would be like changing his nature, and it just wasn't possible.
LA Slums

Kenneth's work was over for the day, another one of preaching, doing humanitarian work, and bringing the word of the Church to the lost souls. He had to assume that Jimmie was taking the time to get things arranged, and he wasn't one to jump the gun, so it was only when it was in the evening, as requested, that he went to the address he had been given, pulling into a parking lot in the slums of LA< ignoring the looks he got from passersby. Their opinion didn't matter too much to him.

Stepping out, he locked the car and went to the address he had been given. It was a run down apartment complex, one of those urban renewal projects that sputtered out halfway finished, and now it just stood as a monument to politics. The door wasn't locked, and he went inside with ease. Through grimy, poorly lit and poorly maintained hallways he walked, until he arrived at a door with a very well hidden electronic lock.

A thumbprint scan was all it took, and he was in, the door opening with a click. Inside there were some shipping crates, unopened, and a crowbar, and he set to use, cracking each open in turn to see what was inside, like a kid opening presents on Christmas.

"Jimmie, man, you have really outdone yourself," Kenneth commented with some amusement as he pulled out supplies. A 9mm pistol with two clips, 2 military grade flash bangs, 1 military grade EMP grenade, a signal jammer, and an AHD with a grenade launcher (three rounds), a 5.56mm machine gun (150 rounds), and a locked IF/F transponder. This was definitely more hardware than he had been expecting, but considering what he would be going up against, he didn't question it. Or how Jimmie had gotten it, for that matter.

He loaded up the supplies into his car with some care given as to placement and ease of access, and headed out, resolved in what he had to do next. His next destination was the apartment block of Mr. Guermerro, to have a chat and see about liberating Gus Foreman form his predicament.
No explanation given, but saber rapidly crossed the street and entered the bar Ba'al had pointed out to her, seemingly determined to find out what was going on inside. And since Ba'al was curious as well, he followed along, at least so he could get a better view of whomever the other challengers might be. He stepped in behind her, avoiding Excalibur as he scanned the bar and it's patrons.

What he saw surprised him, and he couldn't help an expression of recognition before clamping down on that. Not just the boy from before, but the other figure....the makeup, the mannerisms, he recognized those. And surely it was impossible, yet here the man was. The Clown Prince of Crime, the Dark Knight's greatest nemesis, the Joker. He didn't point that out, figuring the man would announce it soon enough, but he did keep it in mind. Thank goodness for Tau'ri culture. He could find some use for the clown, perhaps in a situation where one needed to be disposed of, and he knew the majority would probably find it agreeable to remove the unstable, homicidal psychopath rather than someone else.

He decided to save Saber some trouble and answered for her. "I am Ba'al," he said, before the explanation. "Where exactly this is is unclear, however I, Saber, and the boy, perhaps yourself, have been summoned here by a nigh omnipotent being known as the Viewer to compete in a set of 21 challenges, the winner of which will be granted a wish of their choosing. Failure results in us being stuck here, and death results in, well, death. I hope that clears things up Mr..."
Slightly bad news for Eviledd, but Batman exists as a franchise in SG, so Ba'al knows who the Joker is. He probably won't admit it up front, be he's aware that the man is a murderous psychopath unless he comes from the Adam West tv show.
Congrats, Korra has made it to third place on the list of people Ba'al would take as a host, below the two immortal beings we have around.
