Surprisingly, not everyone listened to Ba'al, some charging into the cave after the man on the flaming bike, and a few moving into the forest. Well, he wasn't going to waste any more time debating while people were moving out to the hunt, and he wasn't about to be left behind. So he wrote off those who didn't go with them, wondering how many would remain to be found at the end, but definitely not making it his concern any more. Now, he would be concerned with himself first, and then with those who came with him. A Goa'uld had to have priorities after all.

"Well then, I am headed off. Any who wish to follow can come now," he said, gesturing with the hand that held his Zat, before heading on the path that led to the rocky trail. Tougher going, but they would be better able to make use of their air assets, and they would have better line of sight as well. He just had to hope that there was nothing too challenging along the way.
Technically Ba'al does age. He just has the Sarcophagus to prevent death, and even it wears out eventually. Before Lord Yu got shanked the guy had gone pretty much senile as is, so that would theoretically happen to Ba'al as well. Just not in the time scale we care about. And without the Sarcophagus tech he's a lot more vulnerable than in regular SG.

Also, Ba'al has a persona that doesn't scream 'evil', and he's gone to great pains to hide the fact that he's a manipulative, megalomaniacal, egotistical bastard.
Sorry bout that. I got distracted by things. Like moving back to college. And I didn't realize how much time had passed.
It had been a quick trip from the bridge of the Andromeda, where Hijikata had left Cabrera in charge while he was gone and Roche was busy, to the hanger bay, passing by the shuttle that belonged to the Jotunheim in the process. He had gotten aboard another Cosmo Seagull with some security personnel and was transported across the void from the Space Battleship to the vessel that they had been welcomed aboard, from the locals in this universe who weren't shooting at them. In terms of making friends, that was a good start.

Arriving, Hijikata exited the craft to see a myriad of others already there or approaching, from the other nearby ships. It made the security officers he was with nervous, but there was nothing to be done about it. They were left behind to guard the ship while Hijikata moved to the conference room in which they would be meeting

He took a seat on the left side, near the head of the table, in a place where he could talk, listen, and not be obstructed of view. In his navy blue Captain's uniform, he then sat back to watch, and wait for the meeting to begin. There was a variety of people entering, in different dresses and styles, such as the almost outlandish figure that entered wearing armor of all things. Then there was the small green alien, that for all appearances exuded an aura of wisdom, though that might have just been the white hair talking.

Well, he didn't need to be told to do so, and he sat while the two escorts he had remained standing and unobtrusive, ready to intervene if necessary, as Hijikata looked to their hosts, wondering what they would have to say.
Tai nodded as prompted, affirming that Tai was, in fact, his first name. He watched as his partner began walking before stopping, and turning back to ask if Tai knew where the artifacts were located at the moment. It was something made more awkward by the fact that Robert was hopping along on one leg, though he seemed to recognize that himself and stop. Well, it could be worse. at least his partner wasn't insane or something.

Turning to the question he had been, asked Tai looked around, trying to gauge distances, where they had started, and the general position of where he assumed the artifacts would be, since it was most likely that they were somewhere that stood out from everything else. At last he had an answer for his partner. "Well, I don't know for sure, but I would assume it's this way," he replied, pointing to indicate the direction he meant, which was away from the clifftop that they had started on. That said, he started following his own words, walking in the direction he had indicated while waiting to see what happened. He had a partner, now to find the artifacts and make a team.
Guess Who said
Hey Flamelord, looks like we're partners

Yes, yes we are.
To bad Vash, Whitney, and Ghost Rider headed through the caves too. Though I suppose the guy on the flaming motorcycle mught miss the little kid also in the caves.

Putting Bibarel at the middle will definitely provide problems when everyone gets flooded. :D Combat strategy is clearly complicated, especially when everyone has such unique traits.

Now there's an idea. You use Surf, I shoot the water with my Zat, enemies get electrocuted en masse.
Tai had to wonder if it was some sort of sign that the first thing his partner did after they saw each other was to walk into a spider web right in the middle of his path. On a side observation, there were apparently some really big spiders in Forever Fall. At the same time, he appraised his partner. Red hair, a visor, otherwise standard for most of the students here. He supposed he would be a decent enough partner, if one were to go by appearances.

Tai gave a soft smile. "Nice to meet you Robert." He looked around then at the red trees that surrounded them. "I suppose we should start on our way for the artifacts."
Alex nodded slowly in understanding as Asgard explained why she was here. He hadn't known about the Capitol nearly being blown up, but that was definitely something she would be interested in. He wasn't sure if it warranted an in person report, but then again typing may have been a bit beyond him at the moment as well. His interest was then piqued as she presented her request, which was certainly an important position, to say the least, and her question, which seemed to make her unexpectedly nervous.

He cleared his throat before he started. "Well, I did meet this man, Cole Carton, and we had a bit of a disagreement. He was some kind of pyromaniac anarchist who wanted to get into the Capitol for some reason. After the initial bombing I followed him, and was able to locate him in a hotel. Sadly, he took them hostage, and I chose to surrender myself rather than let innocents be harmed. But he double crossed me in the end. Fortunately, I escaped relatively unharmed, and I'm told the hotel was evacuated before it exploded." He frowned in thought. "Somehow Carton had a tome, that released a spray that exploded on his command."

He then turned to her request. "I would be honored to,' he replied with as much a bow as he could manage sitting in bed. To be at the side of Asgard herself in..whatever this was, it would be an affirmation of what he had worked so hard for, even if he wasn't in it for personal advancement.

Her question made him frown, and he diverted his gaze as he best thought to answer. It was a fairly personal question after all, though he was surprised it wasn't in his personnel files. But perhaps she wanted to hear it from him direct. "My parents died in the riots that struck after Unification when I was little. Those who did it were never brought to justice, though the riots themselves were crushed." He gave a sad smile as he remembered, old thoughts that pained his heart. "I suppose I became disillusioned with humanity, our predisposition for pointless violence, and I saw the Ultimatum as the true chance for world peace, where there was no more warfare between nations, where conflict would end. And I wanted to be a part of that, to uphold the laws that would keep society functioning. After all, without the law everything would collapse into anarchy."

He shrugged. "I'm not sure if that was the answer you were looking for, but I believe in the law, probably more than I believe in humanity itself, sadly enough. Laws provide order, structure, and hold back humanities destructive impulses. And that is something I feel is worth working for"
