"I took his pulse. And it was quite high. I was afraid he was going to die before we were finished." Flood mentioned as he tossed Devika some potato chips.

Devika smiled a bit, nodding to Nicholas and Flood. "You know, Nick, you don't have to bury your emotions around me. I mean, it's nice, but I'm sure it can't be pleasant for you." She winked behind her glasses. "Loosen up." She turned back to the snack machine, putting in a few quarters. After choosing a bottle of iced tea, she looked at the boys. "You guys want any? Research is better discussed over snacks."

Flood walked over to the back of the machine and looked around. He pressed a button and the machine door unlocked. He reached in and grabbed some cheetos and smiled.
