Collaboration between Orpheus and Fox

It was pitch black outside and night had finally fallen over Sol.

After the battle with the orc and mushroom monster both groups began proceeding up the mountain. Sol was too far on foot, and dangerous monsters skulked around in the dark. The humans had no choice but to move upward, towards Zul's peak and the dragon's den. They soldiered on, muscles aching and bodies battered and bruised from their separate encounters. The cold wind whipped at their skin and several howls filled the air.

They marched on and eventually both teams regrouped. Relief washed over them, but it was far from over. They walked on and on and eventually the mountain's peak came into view. "Gragh, I can't believe we're here in one piece." Riley was huffing and puffing, and the cheery girl was no longer smiling. To be honest, she wanted to fall flat on her face and sleep for decades. "Everyone holding up okay?"

Harper didn't even bother answering and instead gasped for breath, his entire body ached. The boy kept close to the back of the group, making sure that no one fell behind and while some of the others chattered and complained, he scanned the surroundings.

Voices made their way towards the peak and two rabbit ears twitched. "I think it might be them." A loud complaint echoed throughout the mountain side and the black rabbit laughed, however, the chuckle turned into a wince when a sharp pain shot through her side. Those elemental wolves had actually taken a lot to chase away and if not for the royal dragoons, Serenade would have most likely become those wolves' dinner. "I'm certain that those are the humans we've been waiting for."

"Saves us the trouble of searching for them," Victoria muttered as she got up from her kneeling position on the ground. She was busy wrapping a line of gauze around her ankle because earlier one of the fire wolves had brushed against it, resulting to unsightly bleeding and more than a fair share of scares. She didn't care much for the pain; the nobody simply wished it wouldn't leave a lasting mark on her porcelain skin. Looks like she would have to run to the Sol apothecary once they return to the city. Still, it was troubling. This was one of the few times they had been cornered by all sorts of elemental wolves; normally they only come in packs of which elements complement each other, but all four at once? Was it caused by the advent of the crazed dragons?

From beside her Avian stirred and then stood up as well. He sheathed his daggers and listened. The two royal dragoons were both bruised and slightly winded but they were still in prime condition, so they bade Serenade to follow and headed down the path. In no time the two groups bumped into each other, and the guides only had to look at the humans for a moment to decide that now wasn't the time to pursue the mission.

"Let's search for a place to rest. None of you look well," Avian murmured and he assisted Hakuren, who still looked very much out of it, while Victoria eyed her whip hanging from Jasper's waist before deciding to carry the dazed Leila on her back.

They all moved on until they found a cave carved onto the mountainside. The humans stayed outside while the soldier duo checked it out; they came out in a few minutes and declared that it was safe. "Well, I'm pretty sure it isn't a dragon's den because if it was you would've heard roaring," Victoria sighed as they ushered everyone inside. Once they were within the cool and somewhat comfortable cave the humans started dropping down like dead flies, and even Victoria and Avian took the chance to break away from their rigid posture and slump down in exhaustion.

"Thank you, for everything." Harper stated before he slumped against one of the walls and slid to the ground. His eyes flitted to Hakuren then Jasper. "How are you both holding up?" He asked with a smile. Harper hadn't had the chance to ask them yet since the moment both groups ran into each other, another howl pierced through the silence. As a result, they clambered up the mountain as fast as they could, the elemental wolves were way out of their league.

Riley was lying on the ground not too far from them, grinning from ear to ear at Lesley and Leon. "That was fun! Windy, Les, Frosty, you guys were amazing and you too Jasper!" As soon as she finished gushing she pushed herself up and focused on Inadi, Ace, and Leila. "Good to see you guys are still in one piece." Riley sat down beside the archer and proceeded to tell them all about the orc with vivid gestures and giant grin. Things continued this way for sometime, the lost souls rested and told stories of the beasts they had faced, all was well...

Until a roar echoed throughout the cave.

Avian cursed under his breath and swiftly got to his feet the same time as Victoria. She turned to the humans, placed a finger over her lips, and efficiently rounded the nearest ones up and hid behind the nearest boulder. She was with the people who were assaulted by the giant mushroom, meanwhile her husband was the one who hid the humans who fought the orc. The two groups were basically hidden behind boulders on opposite sides of the cave; Victoria and Company was at the left side, Avian was at the right. "Dragon," Victoria muttered to the humans with her in case any of them asked the question. On the opposide side Avian was murmuring, "We were sure this cave was empty...!"

The roar grew closer but there were no flapping of wings or thudding of feet.

Riley peered over the boulder and the sight she saw took her breath away, the usually noisy girl had been rendered speechless.

Harper stared at the creature, dumbfounded. "Dragon?"

"Awwwww! It's adorable!" Before anyone could stop her, Riley bolted from behind the rock and raced towards the dragon.

The Tower: Group C

There were so many doors.

Doors with skeleton heads for knobs, doors with fancy carvings and golden frames, and doors of oak that smelled like grass and rain. Dylan asked whether they should continue moving up or through, but Xan was too busy taking it all in. How would they know which door lead to the others?

"We should pick the door with rainbows," Lucien let out a nervous chuckle, "nothing scary ever has rainbows."

Lute offered to check the area out and Lucien raised both eyebrows in question. The room was empty save for the numerous doors everywhere. "Nah, I don't think there's anything here to worry about!" He gave Lute a dopey looking grin then headed towards an old door with a rusty knob. "Heh, I bet we'll find interesting stuff inside." The summoner clapped his hands together then yanked the door open. Inside was dark and he squinted his eyes only to stare straight into bright yellow orbs. "What the heck?" There was loud growl followed by a claw sailing above his head. Lucien fell back and the lion pushed against invisible restraints, for some reason it couldn't leave the door.

"Heh! Serves you right," the summoner's frightened expression shifted into a mischievous one and he hopped to his feet. The man stuck out his tongue at the angry lion then proceeded to make silly faces.

Xan gaped at the thing, wondering how Lucien hadn't been torn to shreds yet.

"Guys, guys, look at the angry kitty! D'awww." He grinned from ear to ear, taunting the angry Lion some more, but before he could laugh at it Xan slammed the door shut and gave him an irritated glance, it wasn't the time to be an idiot.

"Which door?" She looked at Dylan, Amy, and Lute. Anything could be behind those doors and she did not want to lead anyone into danger, it would have to be a group choice.

The door was thrown off its hinges and Lucien gaped at the lion that had now crept into the room. "Nice kitty?"

"Oh gods!" Xan yanked open the nearest door, a fancy looking one with a silver doorknob. That lion was just a little bit smaller than the bearon. "Run..."

Lucien flailed his arms before yanking Lute and Amy by the arms and jumping through the door. Xan pushed Dylan in as well, muttering an apology as she did so. The girl leaped into the dark door and yanked it shut.

Before the pride knew it, they were falling past floating cuckoo clocks and rabbits that smoked pipes.

They came into contact with the cold floor.

The Tower: Group B and C???

"I used to work for doctor dream...and I've lived in Thaum for ages." He nodded in Syed's direction. "Everything is similar and this is still Thaum." He didn't know how to explain it, but Thaum distorted or not was still a place he had lived in for almost his whole life.

There was a shriek and Atlas immediately shifted into an offensive stance. He jerked his head towards the direction of the yell only to see a painting flat on the floor. Aria and Lisette were staring at the tiny, hidden door, possibly their way out. "Heh, good job little fella." He gave the Capybara a grin and held onto the handle, however, before he could tug the door open another crash, followed by several groans filled the room.

Were these people knocking down paintings? Did they want to give him a heart attack or something?

He spun around ready to ask the pride if they could be a little more quiet. What the magician saw next rendered him speechless, sprawled out on the ground were a few of the other guilders. He was sure as hell that they hadn't been there before.

"Ugh...oh hey boss!" Lucien found himself looking at an upside down version of Moira's face. "Where's Syed?" There was a groan and from below him, and he looked down to see Syed. "Oh, oh, I didn't see you there." He scrambled to his feet and gave his friend a sympathetic wince.

Xan curled up into a little ball and ground, she had enough being tossed around, thank you very much.

"Lute..." Atlas arched an eyebrow at his friend, and despite his dumbfounded expression he sounded rather relieved and happy. The magician chuckled a little, "where the hell did you guys come from?"
Gosh, that looks awesome <3333

Heyaaa guys, I'm going to go work on a post ^^ and haha, yay, I was thinking of Tartarus as something to base the tower on~!

Garret Rydell

"Oh, I'm doing great," he muttered before giving Devon a small grin. The thought of meeting so many people made him feel uncomfortable, but all of his friends were going and he wasn't going to bail on them, even though he really wanted to. Besides, his mother had urged him to go, she thought it would be a great opportunity to try new things and make friends, and he didn't feel like arguing with her. Anyways, his friends would be going too, so it didn't sound too bad. Amity made them all promise that they would show up and if he decided not to, he was pretty sure she'd sulk.

Garret fidgeted with his tie, trying his hardest to look calm and collected. When he told his mom he was going, she fussed over his hair, his clothes, and wouldn't stop until she thought everything was perfect. The boy was in a long sleeved, blue dress shirt, dark pants, and pointy shoes that were polished to perfection. He needed to be extra careful, if he got his clothes dirty, his mother wouldn't be happy.

Both boys made their way to the gym, it was decorated with balloons, banners, and colorful streamers. It was still pretty early, so there weren't a lot of people. The people who were present were either chatting by the punch table or sitting on the bleachers with friends or their dates. A few of the extra brave ones were practicing their dance moves and swinging around in time with the music, Garret thought they looked silly, but they also looked like they were having a lot of fun.

"Yo, Devon!" One of the basketball players, Ryan, walked up to them. He was in a red button down shirt and grey jeans. He had on a goofy grin and had one of his arms around a blonde girl's shoulders. "What's up my man? You playing in the game against Applewood next week? We are going to own those losers." He flashed Garret a grin, "hey Gary, didn't expect to see you here." They were in the same math class. "Did you see Mr. Tomlinson...yeesh those jokes make me want to hurl and uh--" he paused when the girl beside him tugged on his sleeve. "Oh yeah, this is Nina."

The girl in the white dress gave them both a wave and a smile before whispering in Ryan's ear. He flushed a little before complaining about not being a good dancer but before he knew it he was being dragged of by a giggling Nina. "Dudessss, not cool! Save a bro!" He made a sour face before he was tugged into the dance floor.

Garret couldn't help but laugh at the duo, especially the fumbling Ryan who was trying not trip on his feet. Meanwhile, Mr. Tomlinson continued telling jokes in a bad attempt to lighten up the mood.

"So what do you get when you cross a martial artist and a pig?" Silence. "A pork chop," the poor science teacher didn't even get a chuckle.

Garret feigned a laugh, and managed to get the poor fellow to smile. "Well, this isn't too bad." He walked up to a corner a table with four seats and sat down. More and more people were arriving and the music grew more lively, but Garret wasn't thinking about any of that and was thinking of science class of all things. "Hey Devon, what are you doing for the science fair?" He was probably going to work on a terrarium or maybe bring his fishes and give an explanation on marine life. "I mean, how's training?" He didn't want to be a bore and discuss schoolwork when they were supposed to be having fun, but it was easy to see that he was excited. He had even marked the date on his calendar.

Amity Averin

"Don't be," she gave her friend a broad grin. "I mean, what's there to be nervous about. We're just gonna meet good ol' Devie and Gary. Same old same old, there'll be others too of course, but bah! They'll be busy dancing or stuffing their faces." Amity made a silly face before laughing. "This is our first dance and we're all going to stick together, all for one, one for all!" Hopefully her enthusiasm was encouraging instead of intimidating.

Ami fixed up her own dress, it was a simple, white, knee length dress with a black belt. "Warrior princesses? Well, whatever you say Sasha, though I bet fighting in a dress would be terribly hard. Heels would work as weapons though." However, Ami was wearing flats. She gave her friend a thumbs up though and agreed happily when ice cream was mentioned. Her mother didn't have any complaints and sent them off with a laugh and reminder to have a good time.

"Let's go princesses," her dad joked as he pushed open the screen door and gave them a gentlemanly bow. He escorted them to the car and drove both girls to the school dance. When they arrived, the place was pretty much packed though Mr. Tomlinson was still joking around. They had a few more minutes before the actual event would start. "I'll pick you both up from the ice cream place then we can bring Sasha home. I promised her parents we'd have her back before eleven, have fun you two." He gave Ami a pat on the head then bid them both goodbye. The girl watched as the green car drove away then looked at Sasha with a smile.

"Are you ready?" With both hands on Sasha's shoulders she led them into the crowded gym.

People were dancing, eating, and the sound of chatter echoed throughout the place. "Oh wow, I wasn't expecting so many people to attend a cruddy school dance." She narrowed her eyes and began scanning their surroundings, it took awhile and a lot of patience but eventually she spotted both boys in a corner table. "There they are." Amity clapped both her hands together, looking excited and cheerful. The girls made their way towards the table but not without Ami pausing to greet a few people here and there.

"Kas, Lily, good to see you guys. Theo! I can't believe you actually look presentable?" Her grin turned mischievous.

"Can it, Averin. I'll have to say the same for you." He stuck out his tongue before laughing.

Amity simply laughed and introduced Sasha to a few of her friends. The trio greeted the shy girl politely and mentioned that they remembered her from the festival. "That was you, right? It's great to see you again." Kas stated with a smile. There was a bit of small talk before Ami excused them, "well, we have to go, Devie and Gary are waiting for us." She waved goodbye and the girls made it to the table.

"Did you miss us?" Amity plopped down on one of the empty chairs with a broad grin.

"Good evening Sasha, Good evening Amity." Garret brightened up when the girls arrived and nodded. "You both look great." He sounded a little bashful but wanted to be as polite as he could.

Amity laughed. "D'aww, you guys look spiffy as well." She eyed the dance floor and laughed as a few students floundered around. "So what were you guys up to?" the girl propped both elbows on the table and leaned forward with a huge grin.

"We were, uh, talking about the science fair." Garret brightened up sevenfold and Amity laughed.

"Eh? Garret this isn't the time to think about science." She made a sour face. "Devon, what have you been teaching him? Just because you've been to Applewood doesn't mean you can share your scientific pursuits at a school dance." Ami teased them a little before finally settling down with a broad smile. They'd already told Sasha and Garret about Applewood and it became an inside joke of sorts in their little group of friends.
