Just a bump and the question: is no one interested in a cyberpunk Roleplay, or is it the vague description so far? ^^
Hi there fellow roleplayers.

Recently I have gotten into the (living) card game: Android Netrunner. It is set in a dystopian, cyberpunk future where monolithic megacorps own and control the vast majority of human interests. I thought we might make a fun and engaging Roleplay out of such a cyberpunk setting.

The idea is just to loosely base it on the lore of Netrunner with as a core concept the fantasy that in this dystopian future certain individuals (you) are able to traverse the Net in a physical way. The interaction between their brains and the programs on the Net renders a world that is ‘imaginable’ (and therefore ‘roleplayable’ without having to roleplay the 1’s and 0’s of binary code). These individuals have a leg up opposed to the old fashioned hackers who have to see all through their interface, giving birth to the notion of ‘running the Net’.

A grand bounty has been issued by an unknown benefactor for breaking into the datafiles of the Weyland Consortium, owners of the ‘Beanstalk’, a massive space elevator in New Angeles and the economic hub between Earth and it’s colonies on the Moon and Mars. The specific file sought is something known as the Erya Protocol, though names might have changed already.

In roleplay this would give us the following concepts to work with:
You can either be runners seeking after this bounty or runners in the employ of the Weyland (known for being quite aggressive towards anyone that breaks in, employing ground teams to clean up and the like). You start together or individually and it is your own prerogative to seek each other out. Combining efforts to share the bounty, or trying to steal it out from the other runner’s noses.
The premise of the roleplay lets it play out in two main zones: The Net and the Real world.

Due to the nature of the runner you have 2 different ‘identities’ one on the Net and one in the real world. My take on things is that the runner uses real world resources that translate to digital manifestations. Say you have a program installed, it will appear to you as a weapon, pet or whatever you like on the Net. But again, since your characters imagination you have a free hand in describing the world of the Net.

I’ll try and streamline this brain fart a bit more in the coming days, this is just an interest check ^^.

Feel free to give your own imput!
Cool, I reckon we see what other people want to be and you can go either way?@Sh1nya
@Sh1nya Great! Any preffered characters you'd bring into this?
Greetings gentlebeings,

Delving into the Fantasy Flight Games: Star Wars roleplaying game (Edge of the Empire) got me thinking about cool campaigns to run in the Star Wars universe. A story my local group has gotten round to in rough lines is the story I would present for you today. Since every group makes different choices (my group went an entirely different direction than I expected) I would be interested if a small group of you people would give it a try!

It would be set in the time in between episode VI and VII, in which the First Order is slowly testing the limits of its power, and the boundaries of the treaties made with the newly formed Republic.

The story requires a group (4-6) of people in a number of different configurations:
-The entire group on the same vessel for some reason (I would suggest a smuggling crew).
-A part of the group being chased by a player character bounty hunter (or team if you like).
-A small group of fighter pilots, be it rebellion, mercenary or whatever.
-A variation upon the theme above.

Whatever picked, the group needs a reason to be chased (being in check with some of the core mechanics of the Edge of the Empire Rpg from FFG).

Now I don’t think I will be using the system from FFG unless there is some overwhelming enthusiasm for it (it would slow down combat in a play-by-post, as almost any system does). So we’d just do a general free form casual roleplay. I would however suggest a 5 day posting period to keep the game running.

Let me know if you are interested and we might get this rolling soon!
Still very interested in continueing this RP, I'll roll out a post soon without knowing what the gammoreans are gonna do ^^.
Sorry for not replying lately, guys. I haven't been feeling that great, not sick but mindset wise. Just some IRL idiocy, I'll force myself to get back into the RPing mood ASAP.

Take your time mate, I am waiting for a post as well.
BUMP
@Sombrero Cool concept, if we can also get a general piece of concept art when you introduce the Ilithid that would be great!
