We can try working something out then? ^^;
The best thing you can do is SAY SOMETHING. It doesn't matter if you're a GM, a player or in a one on one. You need to tell the people you're with that you're not feeling it and you know what...they probably have a feeling you're not feeling it either. So don't play chicken with people who are just coasting along without anymore interest or passion. That is a waste of everyone's time and it makes the problem worse. In order to fix your problem, people need to know about it and that way a solution can be made. Sure, sometimes you're just at the end of the rope but for the love of all things responsible and respectable, don't walk away without trying to end things properly. Don't be that guy who says they're leaving and then leaves. To me that spells laziness and cowardice. We generally make statements (at least I see a lot of them in threads) that underline the need to speak up when you're no longer motivated. People need to communicate, they're encouraging it but it still needs to happen. When you sign up for a RP, you're committing yourself to sticking with it and if you can't anymore and fixing it or adjusting it won't work and you've tried, THEN walking away would be suitable. But do not just leave or keep quiet and hope you feel it in a few days time because let's face it, that rarely happens. If people know someone isn't fixing it, they can add something to the RP or talk about what the issue is. Maybe your character sucks and it's your fault you've made that can't do anything with them. That's partly a GM's fault for allowing it but it's also on you. Maybe your real life is bogging you down, but then you need to say something and work with people to make sure you don't fall behind and wreck the scene, or you need to write you character so they're off to the side so you can continue later on. Or maybe you're not interested in giant robots anymore, but you need to find a way to get back into the zone. Watch youtube, talk to your RP buddies in the OOC, drink (if you're of age...) or whatever. But do not, do not just give up. Becoming complacent is infectious and it doesn't go away. You need to treat your disinterest like any other issue, get help. Remind yourself why you joined, re-read the IC and don't give up. And by that, I mean talk to people and brainstorm ideas. If you are miserable and clearly dragging the story down, you should say something if no one else does. But don't walk away without doing something or that reputation will stick with people. Always end things on good terms if you can help it and own up to how you feel and what's going on in your head and why words just aren't coming out of those fingers of yours.
So I had a thread for this from eons ago but even with a TARDIS I cannot find it so I'm making a new one.

Real Life Disclaimer and other duties:

Let me start off by saying I have a busy life. I never thought I'd be one of those people who has stuff to do outside of roleplaying. I'm not trying to sound condescending or anything but this really happened recently, up until I went back to college, I had a nice lazy routine and now I'm lucky if I'm in bed at 9 or 10 on weekdays. I will say I may have time between classes but it's only if I go all the way over to the library or bring my tablet. The most time I'll have will be weekends and possibly Friday but again, I tend to have weekend plans these days. So I'd love to say I can get you a post every other day but that would be a lie at the end of the day. What I can promise is that I'll have time in the OOC to talk and in the IC, I'd like to post 2-3 times a week. If we're on at the same time on the weekend, more will likely happen.

I am well aware that a slow paced RP may not live very long but with the right partner, it doesn't matter too much. If we can talk off site and in the OOC between posts, I am sure the interest wouldn't fade as quickly or as easily if we were just silent writers who didn't communicate or plot. If you're also busy with life, let me know. I understand things piling up or even popping up. But I needed to get this out of the way. I have Groups and One on Ones but I really would love something related to Doctor Who. I've been burned in the past but even so, that doesn't mean they weren't good writers, they just weren't great people who knew how to talk about things. People say this time and time again but seriously, if you want to change something, tell me so we can both be happy. If you're not happy, it shows in your writing.

Anyway, onto something more fun.

Preferences and Pairs:

I am an Advanced writer which is also why posts won't come so freely as say someone who is Free or Casual. I post from three to six paragraphs per character I play. And I encourage (and will ask if you're able) doubling which means playing a male and female which get equal attention, writing, development and consideration. If you can't double, let me know but it does interest me a little less if you're limiting our story to just two main characters. Do the pairs need to meet up? No but it would be nice if they could. I mean this is Doctor Who...

I am mostly caught up on the reboot of the show. I haven't seen the recent Christmas Special or the last two episodes but that's because I really dislike Clara and have a hard time stomaching her and some of the plots this season. I do enjoy the Ninth Doctor the most. Ten is fine, so is Eleven but Twelve is pretty fun. In terms of other characters, I love Rose and Martha, Rory is a sweetheart. Amy is alright, as is Donna. As far as River goes, I hate her more than I do Clara. I'm not a big fan of The Master nor do I love Daleks that much, I think they (and Cybermen) are overused in the series. I also think they visit Earth way too often and pick the same generic companions.

So if we did do fandoms, I'd be open to switching things up. So below are some suggested pairs we could try. The characters I could play are listed in bold. If OCs are ever allowed, doubling is required foe obvious reasons.

Nine x Rose
Nine x Amy
Nine x OC

Ten x Amy
Ten x Martha
Ten x Donna
Ten x OC

Eleven x Amy
Eleven x OC

Twelve x Donna
Twelve x OC

Rory x Amy
Rory x Rose
Rory x Martha
Rory x Clara
Rory x OC

Mickey x Martha

Jack x Amy
Jack x OC

I may also be okay with a crossover with Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Hunger Games or Orphan Black. Or Kingsman the movie.

Star Trek: The Next Generation:

I am also in the mood for some Star Trek TNG fun. I've seen a lot of the episodes and one or two of the movies. I would love it if someone more well versed would be up for having me as a partner. I do feel like my knowledge is solid but still a little shaky so you may need to brief me on some tech or history if I feel like my comfort isn't totally secure. Be that as it may, I am really interested in the characters, their adventures, history and interactions with one another. I am not a huge fan of Q but that may be because I was introduced to him in a later episode as opposed to watching them in order with him coming in normally in his first appearance. But if someone is open to explaining the appeal of him, I don't mind including him.

Like above, a crossover would be fun but if we're just sticking with TNG, the following pairs would work for me:

Picard x Crusher
Picard x Troi
Picard x OC

Riker x Crusher
Riker x Troi
Riker x OC

Geordi x Crusher
Geordi x Troi
Geordi x OC

Data x Crusher
Data x OC

Worf x Troi

Wesley x OC
We will get to the Games, I've been thinking about how we'll want to do em. Maybe it's just cause spring is sneaking up and I can imagine how hellish the arena will be that we've made. ^^;
In Mahz's Dev Journal 11 yrs ago Forum: News
I am replying to your PM Mahz but as a quick heads up, I would LOVE to give someone a GM badge or two since I'm needing help and other players need to be able to recognize the other co-GMs who I talk with off site about things when I can't otherwise attend to due to real life stuff. I don't know if I'd need them to have editing powers of MY posts because that sounds messy but if so, maybe having it clear WHO edited what post when.
Yes, I've missed our RP, been thinking about it when certain songs pop up. XD
No it's not. My signature explicitly explains any absences and if you looked at the other things I GM, you'd quickly find a more descriptive explanation of what's been happening on my end. As GM, I say when it's dead and when it's active and in my eyes, it is active. I've been waiting for possible feedback so plays can figure out what they want to play and in what context of the loose timeline I've laid out. A Group is only as strong as the players in it and both players and GMs need to be on the same page but deeming things dea is not the place of players when IntChks are notorious for slow starts anyway. So if people are still interesting in this, I'd like to hear more than a few words. I want thoughts and ideas on what you'd like to bring to the table. This is a heavy character RP where development and conflicts will shape characters more than your typical Nation or Quest RP. And I am in talks with sMoKe who is going to act as co-GM when help is needed.
Yesh. Well post coming tonight. And I kinda wanna share what I wrote for my workshop class since I used Jennifer and the same setting, it might give you guys a direction or idea of what could happen. I'll probably post the wall of text in this post under a hider or spoiler (whatever works) so if you wanna look, feel free. ^^;
So from the looks/sounds of it, I'm not gonna make any connections with my fellow GMs so if anyone else is game or needing one...
Oh that's fucking good news guys! I think with the forum getting back to its former glory, we can have our old fogies and some fresh meat and hopefully we won't have to juggle who IS around and who ISN'T. Because dealing with infrequent coming and going can really make things lag and drain motivation and interest and that's something GMs want to avoid. ^^; I'll work on the new IntChk this weekend...I won't delete this thread until we've got things up and running for sure in the new one. :3
