Canon doesn't need to be set in stone but sounds like doing so might be easier/preferred to you, which is fine in my book. I think our easier route would be to play Grey Wardens who did survive but I do think recruiting our own civilian folk would be fun, as you said. You mentioned playing grunts which I think may me wondered about the ones who got to run off when the PC let them go as opposed to killing them. A number of different people could join the cause and it's entirely likely we could follow the Party's movements but always be a few steps behind so we can see the aftermath of main events. It would also give us room to do our own thing, pick up our own side quests of sorts and do our own to clear the Grey Warden name, so to speak.
Oh really? Man we seem to keep misunderstanding each other these days huh? :/

But yeah I am excited, I hope it goes alright, family drama keeping to a minimum...*crosses fingers*
"Now now, let's not go trying to destrory this place, we don't want any more trouble." Crystal told BreGle.

While the other two were inspecting something, the leader took another look around, trying to figure out why someone would go to so much trouble. The reason itself couldn't small or petty. No. Then Atomik called her over and she headed back down to see what the other two were so engrossed in. "A book? How quaint...in a place like this I was expecting stone tablets." She joked a little, trying to keep the mood somewhere between serious and jovial. If they became too engrossed in either, they would become compromised in a way. They needed to stay on guard but also keep their eyes and minds open. Hackers wanted them here but the reason wouldn't be so obvious, would it?

"Let me see..." She took the book from Atomik and looked it over. A riddle was a very odd choice and she looked around as if hoping the answer would be written on the walls. She and Atomik looked to one another, knowing what the answer had to be. The first couple of lines were unclear bu the last two or three are what really made the idea of 'truth' stand out. It was a very cheesy answer and message but it was clear that it couldn't fall on deaf ears. "Do the honors." She handed her weapon to Atomik and stood back with BreGle while their companion began to etch the word 'truth' into the first step as they had been instructed. "I hope the others are alright..." She couldn't help but mumble to herself, aware that remaining oblivious or overly confident, wouldn't help anyone.

Crystal put a hand on her hip as Atomik was almost done.

"If we don't cross paths soon, we may need to double back and look for them." As important as it was to stay on their designated path to reach the top, and the book seemed to agree with their choice, she didn't like leaving two of her teammates behind. For now, things seemed harmless but something in the pit of her stomach told her that not everything would be so simple. "Great work." She told her friend when the manual labor had been completed. She took her spear back and the stairs above them opened up to reveal the next level. Crystal led the way and they were greeted with the same room. She poked her head up and looked around and flipped the book open again to see the next page had new writing on it, clearly another task for them to accomplish before they could progress to the next level.

Continuing up into the circular room, Crystal stepped aside to let the other two get up. The stairs below them didn't move, nor did they show any indication of closing back up which meant the other two could still catch up to them which was a small relief. Setting the book down on the floor by the steps, she walked over and saw they had a better view but it still wasn't good enough. Turning back to the others, she thought she heard something from down below. Maybe it was a trick, or a trap. Maybe some enemy was down there and that was their second task? "Did you guys hear that?" She asked. The noises were faint but if the others heard them, maybe it wasn't just a budding paranoia. Scurrying over to the stairs, she looked down but couldn't see anything. It could be their friends but it could also be an enemy.

She decided she'd rather pretend it was their friends, just to be safe. If whatever was done where was dangerous, then they'd still be able to fight without too much of a disadvantage. "Hello?" She called from up above. From down below, Cypher looked to Apex, certain that the room above them finally contained what they were looking for. "Are you a friend or a foe?" Crystal called out and gripped her smooth black spear, bracing herself. Just then, Cypher's head popped up and she ran up the stairs to greet the others, with Apex taking up the rear. "Oh it's great to see you guys." Crystal smiled and went over to hug them both before she pointed to the book on the ground. "We could use all the extra brains we can get, it looks like this is a vertical puzzle. Would you do the honors, Apex?" She smiled.
Really? Shit girl, call the cops, those idiots need someone to tell them NO. >__< I couldn't put up with that nonsense, you shouldn't either, it's better for everyone if they cut it out and go find somewhere else to mess around.
It's a rush for me. And I also don't want to give you pressure either.

I thought I told you I won't be logging on tomorrow and from then on I'm vacation, so I'm trying to give everyone their posts by tonight so I can go, enjoy myself, let people write and then come back and crank out the posts so people have things to do when I'm gone. If you wanna post for Naruto though, go for it but it'll just be waiting a lot longer.

It's not that I'm not excited, it's that I'm packing and trying to get everything set up for my partners so they're not bored but if you're more comfortable posting now, go for it. I'll still look at it but I don't want you trying to quickly post or rush anything on my behalf, is all I'm saying. ^^;
I'd say hold back on Naruto. It's a bit late (for me) to be getting anymore posts today, I think if you had given LoK even another hour, I probably wouldn't try getting to it today but I will. I just don't want either of us to feel unnecessarily rushed.
I can handle it by highlighting it for this round, sure.
The major was a dick. I keep thinking it's a different guy from season one and then he exiled her later on. I understand why but he's a royal dick either way.

I'm not surprised the Beifong family is so stubborn, look at how Toph was even raised and then hunted down to be dragged back home. I can see why Toph struggled to be a good mother, much less try to be the kind of father figure the girls needed. And Aang probably couldn't step in to help, nor Sokka since I assume Toph would refuse help, which may be why Lin refuses help while Suyin has been able to bury the hatchet after so many years. But then again, we're not seeing the entire picture.

I dunno, Toph was never really eager to help stop evil back with Aang and Katara. I think she wanted freedom, she got it and then decided she didn't need people around either. I hope something bad didn't happen when it came to her past romances, for all we know some guy could have burned her and made Toph give up on people and just focus on herself. To me though, she's always been selfish (not in a totally bad way but...) and isolating herself seems to please her enough, but then again, she's stubborn.

Awww nice post. Hopefully I can get to the posts I need to do today/tonight and then you can have all week to get them when you feel like it. ^^ Oh and Mako's color is a little hard to read, is there anything lighter you could use~?
I have my eyes on the Blight, recruited those who signed the treaties, etc. I have yet to sit down and play DA2 so dealing with Kirkwall may not be so easy for me. As a setting, I'm sure I could read about it but I've spoiled myself enough with DAO that I'd like to avoid too many details/spoilers in regards to DA2 and DAI since I do intend on playing them.

Now in regards to Orlais, I would love it if our story could take us there but Fereldan is where I am most comfortable in terms of the towns, tone, other locations. Orlais is still a rich vibrant place that I think could add to our adventure but for the most part, I am mostly well versed in the plot and settings in DAO, which may seem limiting but neither of us have played DAI or read the novels so I think we still have tha capability to put our own spin on things.

You mentioned if we did stick with the Blight and issues with DAO, we would need canons, I'm not sure if that's necessarily true. The main ones like Duncan, Arl Eamon, Loghain, Anora, Cailan, possibly Flemeth, Morrigan, and possibly Alistarmay be needed but I do think the others could be tweaked. I also believe our own OCs could take the place of some of the companions, even those like Alistar or Morrigan. I'd feel like it would be more fun to make our own Wardens who find themselves on their own. Alistar's lineage was an important plot point but doesn't mean we need to follow it exactly if we have our own roles. I just want to make sure we're not overloading ourselves because while our characters won't be as big as the game's playable characters, it'll still take time to develop them all and I fear if we mix canons and OCs without intention/deliberation, it could get out of hand.

I'm honestly thinking OCs or Canons. If we mix them up, I'm not sure we can make a functioning group without it getting messy and hard to manage. If we do want both though, we could also swing for the fences and have our OCs be Grey Wardens from elsewhere. The name itself escapes me but it has been mentioned a few times that others have been called (though also assumed that Loghain has intercepted them) and maybe the majority of our plot can be our group gathering people (maybe 1-2 canons at most?) to meet up with Alistar and everyone else? But then again the final battle is still a long ways away and it's up to us to either follow the game's path or do something different.

Now that I've babbled a bit too much, I'm sorry...what do you think?
Some people love driving and dealing with turns/curves in the road since it can test traction and usually have some fun with oversteer, which I am pretty sure is when the car's ass can stick out when you're turning. It's pretty difficult to do unless you know what you're doing and I'm willing to bet the guys doing it are just trying to show off and be stupid. I would give them another hour at most before you call. I wouldn't let them develop a habit though. If only we had some poisonous mist for them.
