Yo.

Sorry it's been so long, I've been so swamped and it feels SO weird to come back to the site now. You know?

How've you been man?
With my semester finally over, I may come back. You guys still around?

Though in all honesty, I've been away so long it feels weird to be back...I didn't exactly miss the Guild but I did miss the people on it and the stories themselves, being away so long makes me feel like so much shit, it's hard even to log in. :/ *shames herself into oblivion*
Pretty fucking dead.
My idea was more that there is the change of the industrial revolution bringing in various different things, and so people are beginning to turn away from magic as a source of power, and so the magical people are losing income and becoming part of the lower classes. Other dynamics could be added and things could be adjusted if you wanted, but it was more of a general idea. The steam punk could be avoided if we sorted out the "world" before we began.

I'm sorry about the delay, I had to deal with midterms.

So the general idea is that with the technological advances, magic is becoming outdated? I think no matter when this is set, that is a pretty interesting idea to tackle. However this trope is one I'm wondering how we avoid: magically gifted people being used by the government for war. That's usually something that people like to exploit and I'm not one of them. But if we are mixing magic and history, I'm wondering which will have a heavier influence in the RP itself.
Bump.

I just had midterms and things are actually starting to settle down on my end. Thank god. I did make sure my classes are online next semester so I should have a lot more time on here (though it's 16 units as opposed to the 12 I have now). Even so, they shouldn't be too difficult. I stil had no idea I'd be doing this much reading this semester but I'm managing. I hope you're doing well, I should be able to get you a post tonight since it looks like it's you and me. I wish we had more characters though ya know?
His surprise was to be expected. Even so, seeing the guy speechless and rather caught off guard, was somewhat of a treat for Botan. Yusuke liked to run his mouth and make good use of his teenage attitude but right now, he was completely dumbfounded and Botan could only give a bright laugh to his question. When Yusuke then reached out and asked if he was dead again, she let out a softer chuckle. She hadn't meant to worry him with her sudden and at the moment, unexplained appearance. Still, she would have hoped he wouldn't jump to too many wild conclusions. If he gave her time to explain, she would do just that. "Oh no, you're not dead again." She cheerfully assured the black haired boy with a few flaps of her hand. Botan looked around, not very pleased with their public surroundings.

"Come along, Yusuke, we don't have much time and I'd like to tell you everything in private." She said and motioned for him to follow her. Botan led them down a half a block until they happened across a small narrow alleyway. It wasn't great but it would serve her purpose for the time being. Once away from anyone else, Botan turned to Yusuke, "I wish we could ease you into your new career as Spirit Detective, Yusuke, but there's no time, at least not anymore." She paused. "There have been frequent outbreaks of low level demons in the surrounding areas, normally they'd end up dying on their own but..." Botan sighed. "Some more dangerous ones are also getting through to this world and we're trying to keep them contained."

That was where Yusuke came in, of course.

Botan figured they had to jump right into things. Even though he should be in school, she decided they ought to make good use of the extra time he now had on his hands. "I've got some tools we can use to round them up and deal with them. I also am going to teach you a vital technique that every Spirit Detective needs to know in order to survive and ensure the others in the world are kept safe." Botan said. They clearly couldn't work in such a confining space but Botan just needed relay the basics to the boy before they found a proper training ground for them. "We need to act quick before this gets out of hand." She pointed out to him. "Now do you know of a place that's open enough to train and practice but private enough so we're not interrupted?"
Hi! Would you be up for some industrial revolution-time with magic? Probably hints of steam punk may be lightly intertwined with that, but it's up to you?

Hello.

I've never been inclined toward steampunk, it's not really my thing in the slightest. However the era you mentioned, might be doable, but I'd need to know more before I can say whether or not I'd be keen to plot or pass. I'd rather fully invest myself in something than remain on the fence and waste my time and someone else's, you know?
