Life flashing before her eyes as she slowly bleeds out in Patch's arms waiting for someone to start the goddamn buggy and drive her to where she can receive some goddamn medical care?
Can health loss equal to the targets own attack rating as they struggle?

That could work well, so yes. :)

I might put a limiter on more powerful characters though, since I don't want any of the heroes having a skill which can insta-kill any of the bosses, or make the fight too easy.

Yes but I don't want fandancer cockblocking my blocking. ^_^

If she's cunniediving your defences then you're always free to max out your Weaponization and score some major kill points.
Sorry no energy sword she wont be killed today.

Thank God for that! Can you imagine what Idaho would do with something like that? We'd surely find her dead in her cabin the morning after the mission, and then what would her friends do about the synchronized bouncing team they were training up for the Olympics?

That's right guys, you leave them alone for too long and they breed!
"Seems like it, I'd say we search for cover in one of those stupid hotels of the park. And if we're lucky, we won't get eaten in the first night. I've heard Karma can be a real bitch, though..."

Pointing over to the tramline set a short distance from the ferry terminal Kelly nodded her head in approval. "Do we have any engineers who could get that thing running again? It'd certainly speed up moving our gear inland, and the electric motor shouldn't spook the wildlife too much."

To be honest Kelly had only joined the expedition at the last moment and for most of the sea journey had been in her cabin downloading as much information as she could from the InGen home servers back on the mainland. She'd barely stepped out to get food for herself when she'd needed it and hadn't made any friends with the other expeditioneers. Apart from Owen she didn't even know the names of half of the people bustling around her, and to be honest most of them weren't worth bothering to get to know.

@TheHunter
The porters and cargo handlers were looking up at the towering mountains looming over the dock, as if expecting a T-Rex, or even an I-Rex, to come bursting out of the treeline at any moment, and Kelly knew most of them would be back onboard the ship within the hour. Gazing over the crowd she spotted a couple of people she'd be interested in getting to know a little better, a cute blonde who looked a couple of years younger than Kelly was wearing cargo pants and a black shirt while struggling with the brown bag hanging off her back among them.

@choraki
Nudging Owen, her eyes never leaving the pretty girl in case she vanished into the crowd Kelly pointed over to her, trying to stay casual. "Who's that? Know anything about her?"
I vote for nightbeast, hot girl on girl action with deep penetration... of claws, that is.
Keep Nightingale. We need a good medic.
I put my vote for nightingale, too.

That's two for Nightingale, one for Nightbeast.

Don't forget, Fandancer has some very powerful defensive moves which could be used to prevent damage altogether.
XD You all are insane

Not me. The talking duck said I'm normal.
How many minutes was that before 'Etta found something she could potentially blow up? Or are we talking seconds here?

On the other hand, would the team let her capture some undying veilfire to craft into some sort of flamethrower weapon, which definitely wouldn't lose containment and kill them all in a glorious green conflagration while travelling through the Deep Roads.

Well, probably wouldn't.

I'm 80... 70% sure it wouldn't. Possibly.

Definitely more than 60% sure, I'm certain of that.
"Eee!" Squealed Henrietta with excitement as she watched the braziers burst into life around the chamber. "BytheMakerbytheMakerbytheMaker! A real life, working Veilfire channelling system!" She continued, her voice high-pitched and almost ear shattering as it echoed around the stone walls. "I've read about these thing, but I never, NEVER dreamt I'd get to actually see one for real... well, I don't dream anyway, but you get the point."

Scuttling from one wall to the other, zigzagging across the room like some sort of rubber ball bouncing from surface to surface, Henrietta started to examine the braziers with her magnifying goggles, her hand pulling her sketch pad from her pack as she began to make rough and scribbled notes on the metalwork and the visible piping. It was clear they were a more recent fixture than the original stonework, but the layers of rust and grime still showed the magical lighting system was many centuries old.

"...if we could somehow channel the fire into some sort of ejection system..." She was muttering to herself as she set her sketchpad aside and reached for her toolbelt, pulling out a large set of plyers and an even larger wrench. "Don't mind me, I'll only be a few minutes," She called back over her shoulder, hudging her headpiece to slip a higher strength magnifying lens into place as she leaned forwards to make a more detailed, intrusive examination of the magical masterpiece.
@SpookySquid

For a moment CC was stunned by the hunter's sudden intervention, but then her face broke out in a relieved smile to see another friendly-ish face, even if the hunter might be competition for the wonderful BB's affections. If only he were a stuffed toy too, perhaps Carnegie knows how that curse of his works, she wondered to herself for a moment before pushing the thought aside.

"It's very good to meet you Mr. Mundy. My name's CC, this is Carnegie the talking stuffed polar bear, although you need to touch him to be able to hear him, and this is... my girlfriend BB." It was only a casual lie, and it wasn't as if the mute supermodel was going to correct her or anything. Just in case and knowing it was only good etiquette to offer a hunter food when first meeting them, CC reached into her backpack, dropping the collapsed surfboard inside and pulled out the fruit snacks, before holding the bag out as an offering for their saviour before BB even had a chance to interrupt.

"Would you like a jelly baby? Err... I mean a fruit snack." She said, picking one of the treats out at random and popping it into her own mouth just to show they weren't poisoned. As she carefully chewed the juicy fruit bite CC suddenly realised that she didn't even know whether the fruit treats were poisoned or not, but it was too late now. SHe couldn't exactly perform an analysis on one right here, and to spit it out after offering one to Mr. Mundy would just be an insult.

Quickly swallowing the half-chewed fruit, and fervently hoping for the best, CC turned back towards the map, point over at it while talking to the armed gunman behind her. "I take it this map has something to do with you then? Locations of hunting grounds, or something?"
Gopher hole->grave plot->boot hill (AoE grave plot)
\Snakebite->tombstone->killing field (Aoe tombstone)

Gopher Hole (2 Energy)

Gopher Hole w/Damage (3 Energy) OR Gopher Hole (2 Energy), Snake Bite (4 Energy)

Gopher Hole w/Damage (3 Energy), Grave Plot (7 Energy) OR Grave Plot (6 Energy), Snake Bite (4 Energy)

Gopher Hole w/Damage (3 Energy), Tombstone (9 Energy) OR Tombstone (8 Energy), Snake Bite (4 Energy)

The cost of Grave Plot and Tombstone would be reduced by 2 if you gave the prisoners a Defence bonus equal to the Attack strength of the abilities.

If I add the bonus to defense for grave plot, it wont apply against the damage from tombstone, right?

No, it wouldn't. The way I'm seeing it it would be like trapping someone inside an Iron Maiden. They'd be protected from the outside by the metal shell, but still take damage on the inside from the spikes.

The best way to write that would be to say the target takes X Health loss, rather than damage, since I'm using 'Health loss' as a way to bypass all defences.

I'd also allow any of your 'Geomancy' powers to ignore the Merged defence boost for a captive, since you'd be using the walls of their prison to attack them, but the rest of the squad wouldn't be able to get through them. You'd have to be using skills though, standard attacks would still suffer the penalty.

Be sure to check out the girls' new abilities, they've all been training in your absence.
