Shemp takes a few steps back from...well....the everything and tentatively throws another punch to the air. Nothing. "Huh. Maybe cause mine's so different? Also, did anyone else hear that freaky squish sound Simba made when he transformed? That was sick, like the sound of a pig turning inside out."

He hunkered down to look at poor shrunken Oliver. "Hope that's not how it works for me. C'mon dude, you're not going to be able to play like that."

Why ever would you choose to turn into a shrimp" Gwen trailed off not wanting to hurt the other boys feelings, he stretched arching his back and letting out a loud groan then turned to look at the group "I'm a lion, though it wasn't so much my choice as it was thrusted upon me" he rubbed the back of his head

Shemp looks honestly confused at Lion boy, as though it were unthinkable that anyone could be unfamiliar with such an amazing creature as the Mantis Shrimp. "I watch a lot of animal planet." He replies simply. "I mean, I guess I could show you? Maybe? I'm not sure if that nightmare concoction they stuck me with is concocting anything yet, but I'll give it a try." He turns away from everyone and throws a quick jab at the air. It's a reasonably fast punch, comparable to that of a boxer, but he brings his hand back and looks at it in disappointment. "Nope, nothing yet. But, like, once I throw one for real you'll know. Like trust me, you'll know."

A shrimp? Roxy looked at the man confused. Why would anyone choose to became a shrimp? Of all the animals in the world how would that one be useful? She shook her head. She couldn't imagine choosing something with so little power. She looked at the guy who stated that he was a loin. Now that was a powerful animal but she was curious what he meant. She thought that she was the only one force into the program. "Wasn't everyone given a choice?"

"I was, but it kind of make sense that a few people wouldn't be given a choice if this is a test trial. See how being given a choice in which animal you tun into effects how you adjust to the procedure, y'know? So some people get a choice, some people don't get a choice but are told what they're going to turn into..." He looks at Oliver. "And then there's Moneybags here, who was apparently told jack squat about what he was turning into. Which really makes it seem like he drew the short straw on this one."

It seems everyone else was getting into teams, while Aerith just stood there with a blank look on her face, having no clue where to go. More people came, and even they were getting into the teams. Just then, someone shouted at her, "Hey! Hey, quiet girl! Join our team! Trust me on this!" It was the other boy who claimed to be rich. Aerith figured she might as well join, so she nodded at him and started walking to the group of people he was in, hearing their conversation.

"Hey, how's it going? Welcome to the team." Shem says as she makes her way up. "I never got your name, what is it? Oh, hey Simba, same question."

"If that guy can be trusted with a sword you could be trusted with a flamethrower, and they may as well hand me a briefcase nuke." Shemp said,hand on his head. "And if he decided to go nuts on us, would bullets even stop him? There are animals where shooting them in the wrong please leaves them alive just long enough to thrash around at anything in sight. He could be a elephant, a rhino, a freaking killer whale for all we know. The doc could have pulled a Jurassic Park and shot that guy up with million years old T-rex blood."

"That reminds me, do you guys know what you are?" He asks his teammates. "That could help strategist if anything kicks in during the game. I picked Mantis Shrimp."

No, Aerith. Roxy wasn't at dinner, she walked in with Vlad.

"You don't get a knife to eat, he gets to carry a blood soaked sword through the hallways. Where's the justice?" Shemp says to Eris in the shaky tone of someone who's trying to hide creeping fear with humor. Then he remembers what Oliver told him about the guy who was going to show up, and looks around quickly the last girl from dinner. Spotting her, he calls out. "Hey! Hey, quiet girl! Join our team! Trust me on this!"

Shemp's face falls and he turns away. He brings his hands up then puts them down and sighs, staring up at the ceiling. "A toast to my big mouth." he says quietly.

Right, see, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be growing shell and multiple arms but keeping general human shape or if I was supposed to turn into a full on man sized mantis shrimp and then stay that way forever. Am I a Franz Kafka nightmare, or am I more like Kamen Rider?

Because if he's a shrimp full time it's going to be like that lion costume they use to celebrate Chinese new year is tromping through the halls.

"Seriously dude? What did you think was in the shot they gave ya' before you got down here?" Shemp asked, looking at the new guy. "Personally, I'm just happy they didn't roll him in here in a cage marked DANGER in big capital letters. That seemed to be the progression." Then he grinned and called out to the new guy at the top of his lungs "WHAT?" and brought his hand up to his ear.

You know, that last comment got me thinking: how does the whole "animal superpower" thing go down? Are we all supposed to look like Zain, or did he just take to the treatment in a more extrema way? Is it a complete transformation into an animal or a hybrid form, and can the transformation be turned on and off?
